Our son used a mule when he worked at the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve (when he was in high school 10 plus years ago) he really liked it and said it just kept on going and going like the energizer bunny. I'm wondering if the new ones are the same little workhorses?

Wife and I are of senior age, and new to the ATV/UTV sport. We recently bought a new Kawasaki Mule 610, and enjoy riding the dunes and the logging roads in western Oregon.
This week we will venture to Quartzsite Arizona to enjoy a month of warmer weather, and will try some desert riding in our Kawi Mule.
It seems this forum is not overwhelmed w/ Mule riders, but we hope to meet others here that have the same UTV, and enjoying the slower paces of retirement.
Thanks for any replies.

We had a great trip to Quartzsite AZ, weather in the 70s the whole time we were there. The "Big Tent" RV show was good too, even tho the conditions became quite dusty at times, mainly from all the AYVs running around there.
On the way up, we went thru some rainy snowy conditions, and when we got to AZ I had quite a bit of cleanup to do on the Mule before riding it. We put on a total of 14 hrs riding time on the mule, some of which was sneaking around the cops there, as ours was not licensed for the hiways like most all the ATV/RTVs are there. And I was told that AZ doesn't even recognize any other state's off road stickers either. So much for our "united" states.
I am now think of getting either a good cover that will withstand hiway speeds, or an enclosed trailer. Besides the dirty road film conditions, I didn't really like the Mule setting out in the rain for most of the trip back either. We'll see.

I bought a 610 Mule used about a year ago. Wife and I really enjoy it and so do our grandkids. I have a hard time using it seems like someone is always riding it. It has been good so far. I changed the battery, was in need of a battery with more reserve power to operate my winch. I have had a starting problem in the past couple of weeks. Sometimes all it does is click when I turn the key and acts like I have a dead or weak battery. Upon checking the battery it is not the battery. I had been using boaster cables and boasting it off with my truck. The last time it did it I was out and no vechile near. I gave the started a wack with my hammer and it turned over. Once home I took the starter apart and all looked almost like new so I cleaned up everything, connections and lubed the bendix and installed it back again. Working so far but not sure my problem is solved. Usually it happens when I have trailered it and no where near home. Will update on this later.
