  1. Hi guys, We found one alt that looks like it will mount up with ez, one problem stock alts have only 2 wires going to it. This one is for a Suzuki sidekick and it has 3 wires. I am really no good at wiring and worried about what wire goes where. I do not want to cause other problems to the system. I tried 4 other alt with 2 wires but they were to big and alittle long pulley wise it didnt line up. They do not give you much room to work with and the way the bottom mount is. And the left motor mount is real close to the bottom alt mount. Mid 90s Suzuki samurai was small and looked like it would bolt right up except for the 3 wires and the pulley was for a v-belt and wouldnt change over because of shaft size. And the Sidekick was about the same size as the stock trooper alt with surp belt, all you would have to do is shim up bottom bolt for extra room for the mount, but again 3 wires! both pushed out 55 amps. Does anybody know how I would hook up a 2 wire system to a 3 wire alt??? Again thanks for all your help!!! If this doesnt work I will just have to get that $275.00 peice of #### China pride.

    Thanks Stevozz

  2. Thanks for getting back to me. I took my alt to a friend of mine Thursday afternoon, He is going to get 2 of them tomorrow morning to see if they will work, both of them are for dodge vehicles, and both are pushing out 55 amps also with the same plug. if they do not work we are going to try Suzuki which from what I hear will bolt right up and also pushing out 55 amps, but the plug is different. So if I have to go that route all I have to do is splice the wires going into the alt. I will let you guys know what happens. Again thank you guys for everything!!!

  3. what do you guys think the lowest amp alt I could use that will handle everything? because its true my trooper doesnt have a/c, heater, power windows, locks ect. again stock is 75 amps. What do these really need to run the system? Again for lights I have the stock spotlights on the top light bar, and 2 sets of 520 PIAA lights.

    Thanks again for your help!

  4. Hi everyone, thanks again for your help. the part that is bad is the regulator/ stator its the part that sends the amps out. And they cannot find the part to replace it. They are still looking for it. As for lights all I have is the factory spot lights on top and 2 sets of 520 PIAA lights, I removed the headlights. The biggest draw is from the factory spot lights, Yes I think I will have to see how much room I have to make another one fit. Whats the lowest amp alt you think that I can use? Because when you get up to 75+ amps they are alot bigger. Thanks for all your help and info guys. I will let you know how everything turns out.

    Thanks again

  5. Hi guys and thank you for your replies. The stock alternator puts out 75 amps, everything that NAPA found that may fit are only putting out 45 to 50 amps so that will not work. I did take it to get bench checked and it is dead not producing any amps. They cannot even replace any parts, because they cannot locate the parts. And a new one from jmc cost $275.00.

I did read something on here the other night where someone thought it was their alternator but instead it was the shut off switch. Boy do I wish it was that. I just hate to buy another China alternator and it does the same thing 800 miles from now. I was just wondering if anybody had this problem and found another alternator to take the place of the factory one. Thanks for your help guys.

  6. Hi everyone its been awhile, everybody enjoying their troopers? Did anybody have to replace any alternators yet? mine is dead !!! does anybody know if there is an aftermarket one out there? instead of going to joyner? I checked NAPA they have nothing, checker also has nothing. Thanks for your help!!!

  7. not cheap.I havent got group rates yet but they have Pull-thru with Full hookups, 50/30 amp, Cable, WiFi

FACING PATIO group double-sites(180x 55) at $99.79 per night. One price gets you two sites large enough for all RVs.You Split the cost.On that weekend if you pay for two nights(Friday and Saturday) you get Sunday night for $1.00.So if we get enough to get two on each site and split the cost it will be a little over $33 a night.

I am just wondering in which way to go by maybe renting a cottage there or to bring my rv. I have an old 1984 ford c class with a 460 in it, and with pulling my trailer with trooper she only gets around 6 miles per gallon yes I know ha ha. and if I pull it with my GMC pick up I will get around 16 to 17 mpgs. So I have to do the math once I see how many miles it will be to get there. I hate to help the gas companies get rich !!! It may be cheaper for me to rent a cottage.

    Thanks Steve

  8. Steve, we are going to two more locations on our way back home to AZ as stated in an earlier post. I believer, if I know them any at all, Lenny & Kinarfi will also. Check it out, 3 Trooper stops makes the trip even more worth the fuel from AZ.

    rocmoc n AZ

Hi Rocmoc, That sounds great to stop and ride at other places on the way home, I just have to figure out what to do with my other trooper?

    Thanks Steve

  9. Where are you at Stevozz? I have a problem in that I double trailer, 5th wheel with Trooopper trailer behind, and California only allows double trailers only if you have a CDL license. I'm looking into that but so far I plan on droping a trailer in AZ and taking one at a time in. There might be some posibilities in me bringing one trailer in and driving back to AZ boarder to get the other trailer with someone of the group that has a CDL and then double pull my other trailer and a trailer for a Brostar Trooper in for the second trip in. Then reverse it when were done. If we team up we should be able to get this done. Besides, I think that if Brostar comes, he should get the highest mileage traveled award which is standing at $25 from me and Rocmoc has $15 in the pot. This got carried over from last years, 2011s Jamboree, because of a tie for distance between Rocmoc and DPostema. I'm going to throw another $25 in for this year also. Anyone else that wants to add to the pot, you are more then welcome. Just speak up. It may be hard to beat Brostars distance.

    Lenny

Hi Lenny, I live in Safford, its about 1hr 40 min east of Tucson on rt 191. And where we are planning to camp thats at Glamis right or really close to Glamis, I was told that its about an 8 to 9 hour drive is that about right?

    Thanks Steve

  10. That’s a great offer Stevozz and one that I will contemplate. I’ve had a look at how far off you are from the Salton Sea and it looks like a days drive. One way around it is too fly into Arizona and hire a RV from there. Then hire a trailer for a few days and do a round trip with your Trooper. Not all hire companies let you tow with their RVs though. It’s worth investigating and thanks very much for the offer Stevozz. We were just going to fly into L.A and go from there. I'm still thinking about buying a UTV to import back home, but I've still got the problem of towing if allowed and a trailer.

    Cheers Mike.

Hi Mike, your welcome and its no problem at all, just keep intouch and we will go from there ok?

    Thanks Steve

  11. Ok guys where exactly are we planning to have the jamboree? so I can put it in map quest and get directions. And to see if I can swing this trip, Plus I have 2 troopers and I wouldnt have any problem at all to let Brostar use it, but to get both of them down there is a problem, I can only tow one of them. If someone has a good way to get the 2nd one down there in one peice and back again that will be great. Just let me know ok? it would be nice to get to meet everyone and to go riding ect.

    Thanks Stevozz

  12. actually i like all three, nice to have some hard rides mixed with a little easy site seeing.Rocmoc doesnt like the water or mudd.(i kinda agree)

Sounds good to me, I just love to go out. I lived in Pa for 46 years, so I seen alot of water and mud!!! but still do not mind it. But like I said I just love to be out there.

  13. Its holding up great, hard to screw things up on them when the just sit in the garage...(LoL) I think the last time we had it out was back in late March or early April. How bout yours? still have two of them? or have you decided to get 5 more, one for each day of the week(LOL) It would be great to get together.Rocmoc in AZ also so maybe a chance for us all to hook up.

Hi Rick, I ended up keeping my green one because I have alot into it and I really do not want to just give it away, I did take it all apart and redid the rear bed and cage and alot of other things to it, plus did a camo paint job on it. havent got to take them out much either but we will soon because its should get cooler soon. Yes Rocmoc and I had some talks about hooking up together too. But in the fall so yes I would love to get together and have some fun!!! keep intouch ok? what kind of trails or riding do you guys like to do? easy, medium or hard? doesnt matter to me they are all great with the troopers. Didnt find anything yet that the trooper couldnt handle. So you guys let me know what you want to do ok? Hope to hear from you soon. Have a great day!!!

    Thanks Stevozz
