Has anyone changed out there joyner trooper motor for something else

Did you say easy? Is there such a thing on a motor and tranny conversion?

I have caught wind of a few members starting a possible swap, but then they die of old age before it's done.

You need to find a fwd car with a really low first gear, I can't think of any, then weld the differential together so they are locked. I think finding a motor the right size with a low first gear is the hardest part.

Keep us posted if you find anything. I will do the swap myself if we find the right set up.

I just joined the form today and I've been looking at engine swaps for my t2 trooper.. I live in Indiana and the Joyner is geared great for the type of riding I do.. But the cherry motor doesn't have no where near enough power..mine is really low on compression too.. I want to stay with same 5 speed tranny.. A friend of mine gave me a d16z6 Honda civic motor.. 125hp stock..

The trooper will carbon up causing low compression. Have you pulled the plugs and put a few ounces of marvel mystery oil in the cylinders overnight? I had low compression on a cylinder, put 2 ounces in it for a few days and it came back. Also you may want to run some in the fuel and oil sometimes. Not sure if your interested in doing so but might be alternative to engine swap. I've also put a turbo on mine, plenty of power.

What are you using for fuel tuner?

I am running a Mallory fuel pressure regulator (PN MAA-4305M) for supercharger and turbo applications from Summit Racing. Just run vacuum to it from the intake manifold. I pipe it in with some fittings from local hardware store. I also have a gauge on the regulator from Summit (PN SUM-800199), dual fuel pumps from parts store running in parallel, they are AIRTEX E2000 pumps, you can cross the E2000 with Carter, Bosch, spectre, etc. I like these pumps because they have a lifetime guarantee and I run in mud and water, so when they fail I can run to the local parts store and grab another. Changed the fuel filter out to a 1997 Chevy Z71 filter, once a gain for easy replacement. Not sure if it was necessary but I removed my fuel cell and had a local weld shop put half inch bungs in the supply and return ports of the cell (I don't have aluminum welding capabilities) and run half inch supply line to pumps. 100 octane LL fuel.

Sorry haven't been on here in awhile.. been really busy with the Joyner..I looked very low compression in every cylinder..I looked around online and found a auto parts online store in China.. they sell all kinds of parts for the Joyner motors..[ sqr472 ].. I ordered everything the I needed.. new rings, gasket set,rod and main bearings, new oil pump. I got everything for about $100 US with shipping..!! I overhaul the motor once I got everything and it still didn't have enough power...!!!!i then ordered a cheap t3 turbo off eBay ..I got it put on and modified the stock header  to mount the turbo..I bought a universal fuel / timing control off eBay . ( it's a piggyback ecu..) still been trying to get that all hooked up and I'm waiting on some an fittings to come in for the oil cooler for the turbo..

its universal aem fuel/ ignition controller. Came with software and all for around $300 off eBay. But you have to splice into you harness at the fuel injectors, map sensor, and cam sensor, and 02 sensors.. or buy another adapter harness for another $500..then u plug it into a laptop and use aem software to tune.. I really want to run the aem controller.. but there's a lot to it and instructions only tell you so much and still tryin to figure it all out.. I also think of just buying the ejk dubeck fuel controller you have instead..do you order it from them or silver bullet..?? They told silver bullet version is more suited for a turbo..

It was a night and day difference. I don't have any numbers as far as HP and Torque. With my 28" tires on the pavement mine begins to pull the front end when it boosts. The front passenger tire will leave the ground a few inches in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Right now I have 30" super ATV intimidators on the buggy that are actually 32" tall. It doesn't pull the tires with those on it but it will go anywhere I want to go with authority, just drive it on the aggressive side.

Spent today at a Honda dealership looking at their 520 side by side, then on the way home past our Lowes noticed they had several new UTVs on site, so we U-turned and ducked in there. We were impressed that all that came for $9,999 metal whole length skid plate, nice sized bed, roof, windshield, side mirrors, winch, upgrade looking tires… all of which would have added thousands of dollars to an already expensive Honda 520. Now Honda does have a great reputation from my trusted UTV experienced buddy, so it has that going for it.

(posted a similar question to the Hisun folks) Looked at a lot of UTVs lately. Couple Questions about Massimo. Some people say they are just cheap with no customer service. Other people seem to have no problems with them.
      Any opinions on Massimo durability?
Heard parts might hard to get. Is that true?

Going down a 20 deg hill engine is holding UTV back. Then something releases like going into Neutral and makes a loud clacking noise. Have to use brake to slow UTV down. Then once level it shifts back into gear. Have done shift extension does not pop out of gear.
