2005 Cub Cadet side by side front axles

Recommended Posts

I'm working on a 2005 Cub Cadet side by side and I'm trying to remove the front two axles.  I have a slide hammer puller on the inner joint and with all my strength they will not budge.   Anyone have the same issues and is there something I'm missing or a trick of some sort to pull these out?   Any suggestions please and thank you.

you should be able to get a flat pry bar inbetween the inner cv joint and the front differential. You will need to put some outward pressure on the inner cv joint and have someone give the axle a good pull outward, with a couple of good yanks you should be able to remove axle from front diff.

Yup.... Did all that.  Resorted to a 10 pound slide hammer puller and still nothing.  It must be really seized on the splines.  I just want to make sure that there's only the jog ring on the end of the axle and nothing else.  And that's on either side I've done everything I could.  Still stuck. .......

Hmmm.. I would if possible spray it down with PB blaster or Liquid wrench and see if will let loose.

do you have a model # of your machine?

I've had it soaking in Deep Creep penetrating fluid the last two days.   I hope it loosens it up enough to let it go.   Frustration at its best.  Thanks for the advice.  Appreciate it.

I purchased my 2018 Cub Cadet 750 Challenger new in July 2019 and it will not go into 4 wheel drive.  Has this ever happened to anyone or do you have any idea as to what could be wrong?

Hi everyone - I was driving my 2017 Cub Cadet Challenger 750 EPS today on the ranch when it dies on me. It started right up - and then as i was driving after about 50 feet the engine just turned off. It was running perfect before it cut out on me. No alarms, no weird sounds or smells. It just turned off.
When I turn the ignition key, the starter cranks away and the battery and starter turns fast and strong - but the engine doesn't start.
I've confirmed gas flow to the carb - that the fuel filters are clean and clear. I've replaced the spark plug with a brand new one. I checked every fuse with a meter. I have confirmed air filters and airflow are good.
But the darn thing cranks away without the engine even making a sputter or even attempting to fire.
Is there a kill switch somewhere that could have been tripped? I checked the seatbelt sensor, the brake sensor, and parking gear sensor - all are working and i'm in Park, pressing down on the brake, and have the seatbelt latched when i try to start. but - nada!
It acts like it isn't getting a spark. but like i said i put in a new spark plug. I have a feeling there is a sensor or an electrical kill switch somewhere that tripped.
      open to any ideas.
      thanks all

The main key fuse (25A) burns out as soon as a replace it (even with key in the off position) and even with ignition disconnected.  Any ideas on where to start looking to determine where the short is?  Or does anyone know where I can find a wiring diagram?

I am trying to figure out the type of battery that I should get for my 2013 Cub Cadet Volunteer.  The old battery says it was 450 CCA, but I've been having trouble finding one with exactly that in the local stores.  My wife picked up a 575CCA (26R) from OReillys.  Will that work?  Or will I ruin something by increasing the CCA?

The attached image is of my old battery.

Stopped running today, behaved like it was out of fuel.  Low fuel warning lite was not on but I added some fuel anyway.
When ignition turned on fuel pump noise was different that usual.  Engine would run a bit but "run out of gas" as soon as load was applied.  Fuel filter less than one season old.
If it's the fuel pump where is it?
If you think it's something else what might it be?
Thx to anyone offering advice.  I have a fair amount of mech experience but almost none with diesels.

Ok trying again... I have 2018 cub cadet 750. Having clutch issues. Has anyone bought a upgrade for them and where did you get them and about how much. Thanks for any help given. From what i have looked over on here. Lots of nice helpful people

I just recently picked up a 2006 volunteer.  It is making a grinding noise that seems to be coming from the clutch or around there.  Sounds like a bering going out.  Trans goes into gear good and it drives good just makes the grinding noise at higher rpms and gets loud as soon as you pull you foot of the gas.  Does anyone know what could cause this or what i need to replace? thanks

Does anyone know what to set spring tension to on a Cub Cadet UTV 2006?
