I have a 2009 Joyner Trooper 1100. I found that the Joyner Trooper ball joints were very poor quality, so I simply bought a similar size ball joint and the angle reamer, and they are much more robust. I find that with my trooper, a few things are just not made well and can use a few design changes. By in Large, the trooper is a very hardy machine and can be run trouble free if you don't treat it like a 1100 lb dune buggy and take it out jumping , etc.

Welcome aboard from a fellow Californian. I'm running a highly modified Joyner Trooper. You will really enjoy the ability to get out and crawl across areas without leaving a trace and still exploring some very challenging terrain.
