Thanks..Im looking as well...I really like that 1000 .its super heavily build.. Would love to have kept it orginalbut the repairs were way too high..

It was the neutral safety switch--I grounded it and now cranks every time---I'm working on my mule 1000-replaced the water cooled blown engine with a 407 cc duramax I had--runs great waiting on a new accelerator cable---have a question for someone--I pulled the engine block off the transaxle and plated it with a home made piece of aluminum--does anyone know how the oil pump in the  transaxle is driven--is it by then engine or??  I did refill the required 3.8 quarts of oil--I just want to make sure the gearbox gets enough lubrication--thanks!

Hey Travis...yes you sometimes get it to start by moving the redshift back and forth...i took the switch out of transaxle and it's a spring loaded type plunger..looked ok to me. .only 1 wire to it...can you explain how it works? Thx!

Well all. I figured out the hesitation/running issue. You won't believe it but the roll cage is full of mud! I removed the hose from the air box and all good. Now another issue.  On my second starter. They last a few days and then just start clicking from the solenoid.  Sometime if you hit the key a few quick turns it will spin. It always turns by jumping the igniter wire. Continuity is good on that wire as well. Thanks for any help.

Yes...that is correct....it will just stutter etc...I did notice the spark is Oran g ish and it seems to weaken after spinning the engine over after 10-20 seconds.  I ordered a new coil for it. I did take an empty cloth and shine up the magnet...reset the gap to .0012 per spec's. So hopefully that will fix it.

I'll try those..thx.. As I said it idles and high rpm is good.  Just getting it there...it has quite a sitter.

The engine Runs fine...it stutters when you hit the gas and sometimes will accelerate sometimes not...

Hey Travis..Im a diesel guy so I'm not much into these faders but I did swap engines and components...do I need to adjust that governor lever as I did exchange that as well??

I did check and gaskets look correct...i adjust air fuel...seems idle ok...but eventually it does die...you can pump the gas and get it going and then it runs on down the road..

Yes there is the small gasket in between the engine and plastic spacer..then the main gasket in between carb and plastic spacer...in question.. That 2nd gasket has indentions..which direction do they face...towards engine or carb...

Yes I did install new gaskets..

I did find an electrical issue and it started..seems to idle ok...new one carb..severe hesitation at acceleration..won't hardly rev up..no power...your thoughts?

What parts were missing? There are quite a few 1000 parts on Ebay.

 

I did find another issue and it started...it does idle good but has a very severe hesitation on acceleration...i did put on a new omw carb. Hardly has enough power to move...any thoughts?

Hey all!! I have a 2001 550 that won't or run. Good spark and gas to the new carburetor but it seems no fuel to spark plug. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I'm new here and would appreciate any help. I have an old mule 1000 with bad engine. I'm told the engine and transmission share same lubricating system. True? If so, I should be able to remove engine only.  I'd like to install a different one and use same cent clutch and original transmission/dirrential. Any help or info would be great. Thanks!

Hey all, new here.  I've an older Kawasaki Mule with a KAF450 engine which is bad.  Is there another/new style engine that I may be able to swap this with? Thanks!
