Make sure that the gear box has the correct fluid in it. Mobil 424 which is a Hydraulic/Transmission type fluid.
It won’t engage correctly if you use anything else.

Thanks for the info. I have found a second VIN badge once I removed the gas tank confirming the first badge near the accelerator pedal.
