Colman 550 won’t idle. Only will start in neutral with gas pedal pressed

Was running fine low hours purchased new. Started and drove out back of the barn. Went to start it after doing some work and it will not fire. Only way I could get it to fire was to go in neutral and hold gas pedal down. Have to keep giving it gas to run.  Will not idle. Just quotes when I let it

Hi Steve!  Similar to you, except mine only did it when it was cold(ish).  If I kept it running and the engine warmed up, ran fine.  Since temps are better since spring, haven’t had the issue.  Wish I could help you more

Little update on mine at least, haven't had it happen again except one time when I was cranking it and stopped before the engine caught.  Waited a day to try again, fired right up.  I also found this article saying the fuel injectors or gummed up throttle body are common issues very similar to this:  https://offroadhandbook.com/common-coleman-550-utv-problems-how-to-fix/

Are you running, ethanol free gasoline?

Hi Ridge Runner!  Yes, ethanol free gas only.  I also use Pri-G gas treatment https://priproducts.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/2015-PRI-G-Flyer.pdf to keep the fuel fresh

I think that’s prudent.  I use only ethanol free in mine.  I partially turn the key, to run fuel pump, needle moves to far right, then I I press brake pedal, and fully turn key to start.  I then wait until the check engine light goes out, before driving.
