  1. Hi my hisun 700 will not turn over seems dead. If you look buy your battery there should be a30amp fuse  try moving it around check wires going to it.  Fixes mine every time. When this fuse shorts out loses connection  your  dash will not start working.  Mine is a 2009 700 . Not sure what year you have or if has been changed on newer models.

  2. Hi everyone just picked up a new UForce 1000 .  Seems like a nice machine really fast. top speed 70 mph. My hisun is getting old hope to have as good luck with this one. Went with CFMoto they have put together a decent dealer network .  How many members or guest have a CFMOTO?

  3. I would just eliminate the spleen as a keying feature, Machine a heavy collar, at least 3/4" thicker then the shaft, to go over the shaft. Make it long enough so that 1/2 of its length can slide and weld to the lower steering shaft. Split the other half of its length it in half with two socket cap screws on each side so after putting it on the splined shaft you can squeeze it down real tight, clamping it. The loose 1/2 collar piece should also have two tapped holes thru it over the shaft, I used 1/4-20 . Then with the steering aligned correctly, pilot drill into the shaft about 1/8" to receive 2 more socket cap screws which key it to the shaft. I use socket cap screws rather then set screws because you can get them much tighter. I did this a long time ago and never again had a problem. It stays perfectly tight.

Trooper is gone so I can't take a picture.

    HI All

Oct. 28-29 should work for me. I would not like to go into Nov. if we can help it. Never know what the weather will be like.

  5. Well I would like to get a east coast ride together I'm open to anything. Wringo lives near Windrock I like that I have been wanting to ride there. I would like some feed back ANYTHING. How many people would like to do this.

    Hey

Windrock works for me. Great place to ride 250 miles of trails. Just there last weekend. Barely got off the dirt roads. What weekend works for all?

  6. HI All

    Thanks

To all that helped get my diff up graded. Had to make a spher washer mine was missing one also. I seen another post where the washer was .037 mine was .025 so Joyner must have a lot of sizes. Took the Trooper to Coal Creek in TN for the first away from home ride ran great. Lots of power it was a lot dusty no mud waiting to try agian after a little rain. Next will have to do the front diff.

    Thanks

  8. Hi Codyjo, welcome to the forum.

Here's a photo of a not upgraded ring gear;2930445000104282158bfiWGu_th.jpg safety wires and hex heads.

Here's a photo of upgraded bolts; 2166255040104282158ctNgGj_th.jpg Machined down allen head bolts, this is one of the earliest photos as Lenny & I were still developing the upgrade. The stock bolt is an 8.8 and the allen heads are 12.9.

Lenny supplies back up nuts, but I don't use them, so maybe other don't either, so looking for the lack of nuts may not be proof of not being upgraded.

To view the rest of the photos, Find the Prev and Next photos at top right of photo.

Also, please consider filling out you profile so we can all get to know you a little better, Cody? does Cody refer to your name or Cody Wyo?

  9. The only way you can really tell is to look at the bolts that hold the ring gear on. If they are held from turning with wire, it's not upgraded. If they have the number 8.8 stamped on the head of the bolt, it is not upgraded. If it has a metal strap that holds the bolt heads from turning, it probably isn't upgraded. Joyner went to the strap but didn't fix the real problems. If it has bolts that have a socket cap screw type head (takes an allen wrench) and a locking nut on the back side of the bolt, it is upgraded. The only other thing you can look for is if there is more then approx .005-.006" of slop in the gears that mesh or the ring to pinion gear is mis-alligned. Unfortunately, you have to take it apart to check for these conditions. Thetre should be very little end play pushing any of the shafts that stick out, in and out. Again about .005-.006". You can check this without taking the diff apart but you do need to romove the CV joints off the side shafts and you can probably check the pinion shaft by removing the retaining pin that holds the drive shaft from sliding off and manipulating that shaft in and out.

    Thanks Lenny

I was told that I could pull the drain plug out and see the bolts. I don't know if that will work but it sounds like I should be looking for a SHCS. What type was used before the upgrade a Hex bolt?

    Thanks
