  1. Turbochargers.com call them and ask for ralph or david.. good guys over there and can get almost anything you want... but the one you are looking for is prolly gonna be in the $12-1500 range... i would have to call them and get the info but they found me the perfect turbo and i could get it for around $700... I will actually be calling them tomorrow to get some pricing for a kit i am getting together for nocturnalsixer...

    Josh

    No Limitz

    goindeep,

i would be interested in pricing on that turbo kit as well if it was a bolt on unit that came with exhaust and intake manifolds. im not that good at welding pipe so its tough for me to build my own setup and make it work properly.

  2. anyone know where to put in an aftermarket temp sender ? i assume the original sender has to stay in place for the EFI system. i dont really trust the OEM gauge. i took several temp shots with an infared thermometer and it never reads as hot as the one on the dash and i would like to have confidence in the temp reading.

  3. i just received my fuel controller and A/F gauge from SB this afternoon, under 15 days just as Jose promised. not sure what to make of all the SB bashing but i am a happy customer. i will say that although i am a happy customer, i wont be placing any more orders with SB until merchant mariner is looked after.

again, thanks for the parts Jose, i hope to install and be tire spinning by tomorrow afternoon.

  4. In the spirit of the above quote; I have some positive news to report !!

With what was happening in the SB Responce thread, I didnt feel it apropriate to bring this up there...

I ordered a set of Ross pistons from Jose, late last week, and today received my order just as planned :) . I have been talking with him over the last sev weeks & has been returning me emails & calls !!! He has had some change over/new ownership issues/problems, but seems to be doing much better.

I do feel he is getting back on track !!!

He is and has been helping me source some harder ARP rod bolts for my 650's, he been very helpfull (as he always has been for me in the past !!)

Just wished to state my current, satisfactory dealings with Jose at the new & improving SB !!!

Jose if you read this, thank you

    And

i gotta tell you "you need to square up Merchant Mariner or inform of the issue", this does not help instill confidence in the new Silver bullet--take care of old business !! this bodes poorly towards my future biz with you !!!

just received my fuel controller and A/F gauge today. I'm not sure what to make of all this SB bashing but all i have to say is I am a happy customer. I am going to stick with the boys on this one and say no future orders from SB until Merchant Mariner is taken care of in one way or another. here's to hoping MM gets his cams because i would like a set too, although i will not be agreeing to pay 100% in advance.

  5. i just ordered the fuel controller and air/fuel gauge from SB a few days ago, then i found this forum and started reading all of this, Jose said he had both items in stock and they would ship out that day, i hope this is the way it works out. gotta say, a little worried after all of the negetive feedback on this site. i will be sure to post when i get the order. Jose told me MAX 15 days shipping to me up here in canada.

just checked USPS tracking site and it says that my package has cleared Canada customs, it should be at my door in a day or two. i am eagerly awaiting my 11 HORSEPOWERS !!!

  6. Water seams to be a problem for most of us. Bicycle inner tube cut long enough to cover your electrical connections plus enough length to zip tie the ends tight on the wires at both ends of the plug. No more blowing fuses. Hard starting after getting wet is history. Drill a couple of drain holes in the bottom of the fuse box covers helps from water filling up in your fuse boxes. I have also covered the vent slots on the top of the fuse box cover under the dash and on the outside vents on the box behind the drives seat. Now I need to find a way to keep from blowing my fan fuse when I am in fan deep water. Any Ideas? Don't want to relocate the radiator if at possible.

for the fan, i installed a relay and auto reset circuit breaker, never had any issues since.

i used the original fan 12 V+ wire to switch the relay so the fan runs the same as factory, i pulled 12V+ straight from the kill switch to a 30 amp auto reset breaker and then into the relay feed, from there i ran a 10 ga wire directly to the fan. i pulled the original fan fuse and replaced it with a 5 amp fuse as all it does now is switch the relay.

when i get the fan into the water it will trip the circuit breaker but as soon as i get out of the water the fan comes back on automatically so i never have to worry.

i think with a good power source the fan sounds like it is turning faster but i never tach'd it to see.

  8. as i said, all 4 are QA1 Fronts are a DS702 with a 14-110 spring Rears are a DS902 with a 14-300 spring i ride the foothills and mountains and on most trails dont make it out of second gear. This is why i have it sprung so light, with just the driver seat full and a light load of supplies it rides like a dream, when both seats are full and enough gear for 2 it is definatly too light, over medium whoops the tires get into the fenders a little. the fronts are a dirrect bolt in, the rears need limit straps to keep the axle's from rubbing the trailing arm. i am a newbie on here so if someone will tell me how to upload pics i have a few.

as far as requesting specific pressure's, no i didnt. they came right out of the cataloug. just had to figure out the springs i wanted.

  10. 2645671480104110397FQplBB_th.jpgremember that my manifold has been flipped, the device on top & left is the IAC and the device on the side & center is the IAT/MAP sensor.

Inside the throttle body, there is an air passage around the butterfly and that passage is closed off by the IAC. If the butterfly closes fully, the IAC has to open to allow the idle air in, but if the idle air is controlled by the idle set screw, the IAC closes up and only adds to the air supply when needed.

Having surge problem and wont' start problem Suggest unplugging IAC and set idle with set screw.

    Kinarfi

why did you flip your manifold ? is it something that added any power ?

  11. K. I've seen that on ebay.

Some of my mods - fuse box and 4x4 manual lever can be seen here. I have a few more things done, but nothing major. I was hoping to hear about suspension choices...

i am running QA1 shocks on all 4 corners, they were pretty much a direct bolt in. single adjustment screw for up and down. im in Canada so the supplier i used is probably out of the question down there. VERY happy with them and total price, dealer installed was about $ 980 cdn. now that i have them, i wonder why i rode so long without.

  12. thanks rocmoc, winter is coming up here in alberta and i dont ride it in the snow, i think this winters projects will be to try your caulking, get the steering rack looked after and hopefully find a good electric power steering kit to install. i am also having the same oil pressure problem many other talk about so i think the cooler add on is in order.

  13. new to the forum, had a 08 trooper t2 for 3 years and was online looking to see what was availabe for upgrades, seemed to find the most info on this site. have added 30" ZILLA's and a set of QA1 coil overs. i have ordered a silver bullet fuel controller and air / fuel ration gauge. i hope it performs as advertised. have had to replace the 4 wheel shifter ( was full of water ) and the fuel sender crapped out on the last ride. currently have about 1350 miles on it and my only real beef with it is all the rattles, they seem to pop up everywhere, fix 1 and you find a new one the very next day. thinking about power steering, does anyone have any recomendations on this ?

    thanks
