  1. Just stopping by to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

I see by scanning the messages that the same old crowd is still here but has

    dwindled considerably.

I still have my RZR and have racked up a lot of hours and miles on it,

especially with the Search & Rescue team and just joy riding.

My friend just took delivery of the new Can-Am Commander side by side.

It is an awesome machine and talk about fast, it leaves my RZR in the dust. LOL

I still like the small foot print of the RZR however for getting into tight places

and being light I stay on top the snow instead of digging in so I still

manage to stay in front of him most of the time. haha

Everyone take care and ride safe for 2011.

    -Jimmy

  2. Wow; thanks for the info on Reno! I live in Bend, Oregon and this state is VERY biased against off roading. In the not too distant future; my wife and i are considering relocating. Redding California was one of the top considerations; and Reno was the other one. We have family in Henderson Nevada; but it's too hot for me there! Reno would be a nice compremise. Not too hot in the summer; and not too cold in the winter. Bend is like living in Alaska during the winter time. (Although this year has been very mild) Is Harry Reid REALLY an off roader?

    -Ken (Mopartist)

If your an off-roader you will love Reno! Most Californians call it Nevada's best kept secret.

We have tried to not make it another Vegas City and have succeeded very well even though gambling is allowed.

Its a great place to raise a family, not to big, not to small and the weather is great year round.

Snow capped mountains and sandy desert. I moved from Utah and never looked back.

We have hundreds of places to ride just out my back door.

Give me a yell if you make it out this way.

  3. Hi Jimmy....A knee replacement and work have put a bit of a dampner on my riding time....I have about 260 miles on it and have had no problems...My Bro-in law still has the 650 and he snapped a rear lower a-arm hitting an unexpected hardpack woop......

I hope that is not your clutch knee you may have to go for an auto trans. ;)

How does the Trooper compare to your LJ Tech since they have the same Chery 1100?

  4. I'm Kurt G, live in the great city of Las Vegas, NV.....

Have had dirt bikes, quads, sxs's and raced Dwarf cars.....

Current toy is a T2 to which I look forward to playing with....

Oh, I guess you could almost call me a Vegas native, I been here 30+ years....

    Hi Kurt

Have not talked and seen you on BN for awhile.

How is the T2 treating you now that you have had it for awhile.

Does your Bro still have the 650?

And yes, anyone that has been in Nevada for more than 20 years is considered a native. :P And what a fun place it is!

  5. OK, I need team help! I am finally replacing the original driveline with the replacement. It won't come out of the trans. I have removed & installed axles on this type of trans before but this one won't come out. I know about the clip and how it is suppose to come out with a couple of screwdrivers and a yank. Any ideas? If not I am scheduled to take my Trooper to a Driveline Shop in Tucson on Tues. HELP!

    rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

When I had the Trooper I got pretty good at changing it. I also had the welded on skid plate so there was no access until

I cut a few access holes in it.

But the trick I used and it worked quite well was I would drive my quad up behind it and get the winch attached to the drive line and it

    would pull right off.

Getting the new one on takes some work also, that is where the access holes in the skid plate come into play.

  6. The new KIDS RZR is showing up at dealers now!

Its larger than I thought when shown next to a RZR S.

But the kids won't outgrow it so fast.

First reports coming in is its quit impressive for what it is.

Two large adults in it climbing a very steep hill.

After market accessories are showing up from Polaris and 3rd party

manufactures like doors, windshields, roofs, etc.

Let the fun begin for the kids, get on the list for summer!

  7. Well almost, this setup will allow you to take your kids with you and still be 50" trail capable.

It don't look like adults would be to comfortable and Polaris does not recommend

more than 200lbs in bed, but small kids would be great!

PS. The new Baby RZR is now at most dealers with a waiting list of course, check it out for your kids!

  8. Well we are having a record winter over 56" so far and no end in site. This morning it was 47 below 0 with out the windchill 56 with in another town it was 52 below with out the windchill brrr. Tomorrow it is supposed to be 25 - 35 above Thank God. I will have to get some pics I have a GMC Jimmy with 8" of lift and 36" tires and its almost covered with snow in my back yard.

That is incredible, so much for global warming.

Here in Northern Nevada we have had a little bit less than normal snow pack in the mountains.

The weather has been in the 50's and near 60 degree weather today so it has been great but this is about normal for us.

My son is a doctor in Atlanta and has been freezing his butt off there every time I talk to him. :)

Sounds like you need one of these for off roading.

  9. We all want "German" engineering at "China" prices and we want it "made in America". It's kind of like I saw somewhere; Economical, Dependable, Fast, you can only have two.

I would be happy with two of these options, German engineering at China prices!

But German quality does not come cheap.

Two of my riding buddies have VW dune buggies that are 30 years old and those things just keep on going.

But the VW is old technology these days.

  10. Hey Mike, I was wondering where you went, you have been keeping a low profile lately.

I was only quoting a statement from Obama about the buy American products.

Its hard to find anything that is 100 % made here anymore. The RZR and even

the Rhino are built in this country but I am sure the RZR probably has something

    China on it.

If you want electronic products you have no choice because I don't think there

are any products made here anymore like TV's, cameras, etc.

At one time everything said made in the USA, then Japan, then Taiwan, then Korea, now China.

We saw junk come out of all these countries, even the US. When we start making a quality

product the price gets to high and another country steps in with a cheaper priced but less quality.

What country will be next? Iraq, Iran, Russia, Africa?

I have two freinds sitting here next to me from Utah talking about this so I am listening with one ear and

typing away but you get the idea. Later

  11. BUY AMERICAN MADE!

As President-elect Barack Obama prepares his economic stimulus package,

his advisers are looking into inserting a "Buy American" plank.

An Obama spokesperson told Bloomberg that "We are reviewing the buy American

proposal and we are committed to a plan that will save or create 3 million jobs,

    including jobs in manufacturing."

Say NO to foreign products, buy quality! ;)

  12. This teryx has no extras, just a full cage. I did not say anything about rhyno's but since you brought it up it runs away from them, sand or dirt, even when they have a chip. I weighed it my self, those are the weights, not something i read on a cardboard box. I actullay read your post because i thought you might of changed. Back on the not to read list.

So about 260 lbs for an after market cage? ouch. :o

  13. Probably putting this is the wrong spot, but i figured you guys would want to know how our cars weigh to other utv's. Weighed my daughters teryx today, the front axle was 640 and the back axle was 920, 1560lbs total. her teryx has a full cage. We are not that much heavier, we have a winch, light bar and bigger tires. I was a little surprized.

The Teryx has a stock weight of 1275 lbs,

The V-twin is a great little engine however and it has a lot of unleashed potential just waiting for all the mods that are available.

   ;)

  14. Hey all, my name is Gary and my gal is Glynda. We live in Arroyo Grande CA about 3 miles from Oceano Dunes. If anyones up for a ride at the dunes or other nearby places give us a jingle.

Hi Gary, if you ever get up to Reno and Sand Mountain give us a call.

I don't know what you ride but we have a little bit of everything here.

RZR's, Rhino's, quads, dirt bikes, VW and China buggies, Full blown sand rails, rock crawlers.

  15. Wanted to see what you guys thought about this? Built this trailer a while back and am in process of producing it. It rides surprisingly smooth and is quite stable.

    post-198-1231091203_thumb.jpg

That looks really neat, I could pull it behind my RZR and have two more people and more storage area when needed.

Being for off road use I am not sure what the legal ramifications would be.

Just put a warning sticker like other off road vehicles have.

  16. Notice that my steering was getting stiff and hard to turn so i pulled the cover of the rack & pion (6 allen head screws and you have to loosen the small screws to get the boots out of the way). Once it was off i could see the rack was very dry and starting to gull the cover. Once the cover is off you can pull the rack up and out with it still hooked to the tie-rods, You will see the gear in the slot. I spread some grease on the gear and in the slot, also some grease on the rack. You can see i also put zert fitting on the cover so i can grease it without taking it apart . If you do not want to do this you need to aleast pull the boots back so you can get some grease on the rack. This is something everyone that has a trooper needs to do.

Very good advice, I have had these freeze up in the winter from getting water inside.

I always keep them packed with grease.

  17. polaris-rzr-chassis-ribs-769947.jpg New from All Terrain Research - Polaris RZR Chassis Ribs add strength to the rear of your chassis by bracing the sides of the chassis together with the existing factory holes and by also tying into the upper and lower A arm mounting points. The Chassis Ribs are CNC laser cut from 3/16" steel plate. For the upper A arm mounts instead of simply welding a washer to a chopped tube like some manufactures may do ATR CNC machines a stair stepped end piece that centers itself inside the tube and provides us a gap for a flush TIG weld that evenly penetrates both pieces. Chassis Ribs come in a durable black powder coat finish.

ATR is a group of engineers, designers and motorsports enthusiasts set out to develop the most advanced off road vehicle performance products possible. Bringing years of experience ATR serves as a full service prototyping and manufacturing company developing products for some of today’s leading off road vehicle manufacturers. These are some good looking products for the RZR.

One can never have enough accessories to make a great machine even better!

  18. Obama must have taken my advice, just read this in the news. :P

    ----------------------------------------

Anxious to jolt the economy back to life, President-elect Barack Obama appears to be zeroing in on a stimulus package of about $850 billion, dwarfing last spring's tax rebates and rivaling drastic government actions to fight the Great Depression

    GO OBAMA!

  19. Its snowing in Las Vegas/Henderson! Dogs are having the times of their lives playing in the court yard. The backyard is just to slippery around the pool to risk. The road to Boulder City is closed, I-15 is closed at Mountain Pass. The airport is closed because of visability, there is snow on the runways. People are driving like idiots. But we're all home, safe and warm. The winter weather advisory is in effect until 6 a.m.

    Cinda

Cinda I would definitely mount a plow to that T4.

That limo would look cool plowing the snow :D

I am sure George has already entertained the idea!
