  1. You could also order a set from Pete Paulson wheels... I use to order my Dwarf car wheels from him and a friend just got a set for his Spec Racer.....

Just give him the bolt pattern and back spacing you want... Probly get 13"- 15" wheels with the Joyner pattern.

  2. Once again, I want to thank you guys for your input. We were on a little jaunt this summer up thru Vermont and back thru Missouri to see family. Just getting settled back into home chores, rebuilding a 240Z and I still have to fix the T2's ignition and get new tires.

But it will all happen (too slowly) and my wife wants to get back doing some trails again.

  3. Thanks for the input guys....

I too thought I would be able to make it this year BUT.... Life happens... I guess I have had too many things going at once this year...

Glamis looks like it would be fun... I'll keep things a little more mellow this year (I hope)....

  4. Thanks Lenny.... I know I missed a good time... I enjoy riding with you guys....

I got kinda busy with retirement and getting things in order... Didn't know it would be so much work to quit working !!!

  5. Here's one I haven't come across before.... I went to turn off the T2 and the key wouldn't move..... Turned off the "Master" switch which did nothing because the alt was powering everything still.... Put it in 5th and stalled it.....

Key would turn right to "start" but refused to turn left to "off"... Sprayed some WD40 in it with negative results....

Cut the head off the key inorder to remove the switch and see what I could do ( I know what I wanted to do !!!) ...

Any suggestions ??? Do I take it apart and hope it goes back together right ???

Or, just buy a new switch ??? If so, what switches have you had good luck with ???

  6. Thanks for the welcome.... I did miss seeing the modifications you all do to these buggies (or is it truggies since it has a bed ???).... I also learn alittle more about the capabilities of the T2 by following you guys on the trails......

Hope I can make it in June also....

  7. Well, I haven't been around much (work)... But it looks like I'll be getting the T2 outta mothballs (been a year) and getting new tires and checking everything over so I can start playing again... This darn economy looks like it'll be forcing me to retire (Oh DARN) to avoid losing money......

  8. Rocmoc,

Do you think your setup for the Spec Racer would be basicly the same for a Spec Rcaer Renault ??? If so, would you mind sending me the specs off line ??? A friend just picked a Renault version up for track days and didn't come with a book....

I now return you to your regularly scheduled topic... Sorry for the hi-jack...

(Oh, are you still racing the Dwarf ?)

    Kurt

  9. Lenny,

Paiute3 has the drive shaft to fix....Please don't jinx me !!!! lol..............I just noticed a lap belt hook spring has gone awol..........Good exscuse to get new belts....

    Shocks...

    Tires...

    ???

I gotta say that this trip was the best for me and my wife.......She started telling me we need tires, shocks, etc after seeing your guys stuff.....Thanks to you all......

    Kurt

  10. Things I learned:

    1. Lenny is like a mad professor...He can't leave anything "stock"...And likes going "extreme"..

    2. Rocmoc was being careful due to being committed to another week long rally in Moab......But he has extensive experiance "hustling" vehicles off road and on....

    3. Kinarfi is "mad professor#2"......Between him and Lenny, their Troopers are outfitted for the Baja 1000...

    4. Paiute3 are the kind of people you want on your side...They didn't let anything get them down...

    5. The Troopers ran great all weekend with one casualty taken down by a known problem that I hope Joyner takes care of the right way....

    6. I was only one with a "stock" Trooper (not for long I hope)...

    7. Light truck tires in both 14" and 15" wheel size worked great in all the different terrain we ran....(No mud report here!!!)

    8. 30" tires look awesum....27" tires don't require any massaging to work....

    9. rocmoc has the "stealth" muffler setup....

    10. I wanna do this again.....When it's cooler...
