  1. Thanks for everybody's input.

I decided to have the local shop where I purchased my trooper fabricate a muffler for me. Figure this is best and easiest as I am having them throw on a new set of 28" Interco Swamp Lite tires. :)

  2. Please remember that we don't know what is going on at TeamJoyner USA right now so use caution if you decide to order. Read Brostars warning under Joyner Out of Business post #22

Thanks Paiute, I did see those other posts about Joyner, was a bit of a surprise indeed. Hopefully things will turn around, but Im not holding my breath. :)

  3. I am looking to upgrade or replace the factory muffler on my T2. Im not necessarily looking to increase performance, I just really want to quiet it as much as possible. I ran across this item online:

Muffler for Trooper T2 [Muffler - 1100cc T2] - $180.00 : Va Dune Buggy, Big Go Karts For The Big Kid In All Of Us.

Anyone have knowledge or experience with this product? I dont want to be doing a bunch of hacking so am looking for something more or less bolt on or minimal modification.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

  4. Figured I would chime in on this one...

What you should do is get a deep chrome 18mm Craftsman socket from Sears. I would go with a 12 pt unless your lugs are rounded on the edges, then find a 6 point. It shouldn't crack or shatter, and if it does, your lugs are over torqued.

11/16 is closer to 17mm. 3/4 is 19mm, there is no standard socket equivalent for 18mm.

That is exactly what I have. :) 18mm deep chrome crasftsman socket 12pt. ground down a bit... gonna have my buddy grind me a spare too.

  5. 11/16 will also work, fits a tad snugger than 18 mm but that's good if you haven't buggered the lugnuts, I had a spare 11/16 deep with 1/2 drive and welded it to an old tire iron that I cut the head off of and ground the end down square.

I tried my standard 11/16 socket and it was a tad small, however from what I have seen might be easier to find a thin wall one. It appears that 18mm thin wall sockets just arent manufactured... I have looked ALL over the internet. 17 or 19 all day long but NO 18.

  6. I bought a $20 scissor jack for mine. It compacts nice, is light and lifts a good height. Im planning to mount it behind the passangers seat for ease of access.

I found scissor jack for $25, but its max height is 14" and I dont think that is going to cut it. :( I might just have to resort to bringing a couple 2x4s with me...

  7. I need to purchase a jack for my trooper but was curious what others have used as a solid solution. Given the high clearance of the vehicle it appears the choices might be limited. Also, where on the frame is a good jack point for front and rear?

    TIA

  8. thanks guys

Actually brostar I did have the opportunity to wheel it this weekend and was very impressed with the suspension and climbing ability of the vehicle. I progressively attempted more difficult and aggressive hill climbs and each time it performed very well. So far I am extremely pleased with my purchase and look forward to the many adventures ahead!
