  1. I want to custom fab or buy a long travel kit for my trooper. Has it been done? Could just any driveline shop make axles long enough? What else would I need besides longer axles and brake lines? I attached some pics of a rzr long travel kit to show what im talking about.

  2. Hi

We have just recived our control unit to just test.It gave lot more power on the low end that you could feel in 2 and 3 gear. The top end was way to lean.It ran good but we know that this is just the begiinning we can increase the rpm but what we want is bottom end. They our going to adjust it a little and we will test it.If we feels good we will dyno it.The timing unit will be next.If this is not enought cams will be next.Web cams has all ready done the grind but the last thing will be getting the shims right its hard to use the stock pots with the new grind we would have someone they know set up the clearance problem. They said 5 to 7 more h/p i dont know if this is worth the money.

    Will keep you posted.

    Thanks

I like where this is going! Cams 5 to 7 Hp? Is that at the wheels? Wounder if we would have a lager increase if the trooper was turbo.

  3. I am working on that at the moment. Maybe a little bit coming but working on getting the stick specs for cam right now once I have that then we can see where we need to make improvements. Another thing I need to do is get some putty and measure valve to piston clearance in stock configuration to see how much lift we can add without risk of contact

Put me down for a set of cams?

  4. No dyno info.

I can tell you that because of the close gearing of the transmission, there never seems to be a situation where boost is unavailable. I can feel and hear the turbo at lower RPM's, but the boost guage is around 0, so it does not seem to measure any output until around 2200 - 2500 rpm.

In fact, I dialed it down from the 10lbs I was getting to around 7lbs so that on long grades/hills (like Oldsmobile at Glamis) I could stay in the throttle. I was haveing to feather it at 10lbs because it would try to spin through the rev limiter (6000rpm) too quickly.

The best part is I do not have to concern myself so much with weight. I can carry the spare, use Maxxis Bighorn tires in all conditions, even deep sand at Glamis, bring my wife and dog, etc, etc. Just more enjoyable all the way around. But I am not a racer, I am in it for the long haul. I use the power to get where I am going, not to see how fast I can go.

Is 5th gear 1:1? Just to know for when I dyno mine?

  5. I can't help you on the tech specs but I can say that putting a turbo on my Trooper 2 yrs ago was the best single modification I have done. The improvement in drivability is staggering. My system was installed by Scott at Unleashed Motorsports in Cottonwood, AZ. I don't know if he is still up there or not. The catalytic converter and O2 sensors are all stock.

    Randy

Do you know what kind of power you put down to the wheels before and after the turbo? Has it been dyno'd? Do you think it added power lets say lower than 2500 rpms?

  6. Bolt-ons will only do so much. Id like to see an EFI controller to go along with a piggy back ecu as well. I have the fast freddy ecu (which is just a 4cyl trust ecu here in the states known as Greddy) on my t2 the only thing I noticed was a power band and 1k higher rpm redline. Im interested in cams! what company will make Cams for the t2??

  7. Sweet, how much did it cost. How thick is the material and what is the material used. I assume the metal bars are skid bars, do they need to be embedded? Who has the template now?

    kinarfi

Off road Connection has the templates and will be glad to make many more. $600 and it includes the flush mounting hardware. The mounting did not need to be embedded just did it that way to keep from dragging or hanging up when bottomed out. The material is like a cutting board at industrial strength. It is 1/2 inch thick. It might weigh 35 to 50 lbs just a est. But i also removed the old metal skids prior to bolting this one on. Hopefully I didnt add any weight!!

  8. I have installed a few of those ECU's at No Limits, It is not a install for the faint of heart, the wiring diagram they supply and instructions look like the guy did it on a bar napkin after 5 or 6 drinks, hard to follow and a few phonecalls will get it done, but on a NA motor it works great, and works even better with a turbo, but if you install it on a NA motor then go turbo you have to send it in to get reflashed with a turbo program costs about an extra $150

    Jarrad

Instructions with ECU suck! I had to call the guy a couple times but once spoke with him it all made since. The ecu IMO is good just high on price. The ECU is made by TRUST Japan which is Greddy in the USA. Seems to me the tune could be stronger, it has a dead spot at 4k. I'm trying to work this out now. I have noticed that when I retard the timing it gains bottom end torque. Id say that the ecu adds a good amount of torque but most of it is in the higher revs. Alabama doesn't have dunes so I'm trying to dial in that low end power. A built 1100 w/ supercharger is in the works.I'm so power hungry!! :D

  9. ORC (Offroad Connection) of Alabama fabed me a skid plate that has turned out to be one of the best mods to my T2. I just wanted to share! B)

Why I choose this skid plate:

Quiet in the woods or on rocks (unlike aluminium or steel)

Slick non-friction surface keeps you from being hung up

    Flush mounts and hardware

    One peice

    Colors: Black White and mulitcolor

  10. Its the trophy trooper #9 I called up and had this built with things I liked off the previous 8. Wasnt sure how I was going to like it. I have pounded on this thing since Ive got it. It is very capable. I couldnt have picked a better sxs to go with!

  11. Name is Traland just recieved my Joyner T2 about a month ago. Have a issue with it cutting out going up and down steep hills. Almost sounds like she is getting to much fuel at times. Checked the regulator and other things I thought it might be. Any ideas to what might be causing this? or does anyone have this problem also?
