  1. Ok, does anyone have an answer to why I cannot shift gears when the temp drops below forty degrees? I know most of you Joyner owners live in the south, so I'm hoping someone traveled to the north and can help me fix this problem. Otherwise, does anyone know where I can get a cheap auto transmission?

  2. By any chance you still have a soft top for a trooper t4?

  3. Ratfink,

Welcome, this is the place for any info you may need.

Yes I would still purchase my Trooper T-4.I still feel its the best bang for the buck.I am sure someone will come through and bring the product into the USA.What joyner are you interested in or are you just curious.

I've noticed that the teamjoynerusa web site is now under construction. Have they found a new distributor?

  4. I had to cancel my order for an enclosure two days ago. I was really hoping that I would have received it before they closed their doors. Also still waiting for rods to fix my steering that broke. Dealer ensured me that they would get parts needed. I hope to be on here someday talking about how great it is driving my trooper. Ice has already melted on my lake. So I guess there's always next year.

  5. I am also new, My trooper only had about thirty miles on it before it over heated. Since buying my trooper a month ago I've had problems from the time it got off loaded from the truck. With shifting gears. It appears the colder it is outside the harder it is to shift sometime not even able to shift into first or second. First time plowing my driveway it over heated. Second time plowing driveway, bracket where plow is screwed into bolt holes gave away causing plow to smash into steering rods snapping one. Joyner is sending parts to fix steering. I live in NH and we do not have a dealer or authorized repair shop. The only supposed repair shop told me he doesn't do work for Joyner. Dealer from GA where I bought it from told me to take it to local repair shop and they will take care of it. Let's see how that goes.

I still have not received the parts from Joyner to fix my steering rod. I call there and no one answers. I've been dealing with Mcoys where I bought the plow and enclosure from. Supposedly the person the dealer was dealing with quit and no one took over what he was working on.

  6. I looked at the New Hampshire laws on the Internet. Now I know why you're confused about how to go about licensing your Trooper.

Here's a contact in New Hampshire that might be able to help you. [email protected]

There may be a forum member that can aim you in the right direction. That's one of the BIG benefits of being a member.

    Good Luck!

This is the same guy I emailed regarding warranty work and he told me he does not work on Joyner vehicles. From info I found it doesn't look like I will be able to reg as a car without it meeting federal safety standards.

  7. Hi Scimaro,

Here in Arizona many of the ATVs as well as off road cars are licensed for the street. My Trooper has a road license along with insurance, a off highway permit, and a state trust land permit.

The Trooper is not what you would call a good road car. It's to low geared for any real travel in traffic but it's fine for low speed driving. I trailer it when there is any great distance to travel.

To make things better for the road I replaced the off road tires with Super Swampers. They work fine for most any type terrain and don't shake you to pieces on the road. I've also have the same size wheels all around so I can carry one spare.

The top works well in the sun as well as rain. I did add a windshield but is it is next to worthless in the dust. I will put it back on when I return to the White Mountains in the rain.

    Have fun!

Looking up NH law and it states that vehicle must meet United States Department of Transportation motor vehicle safety standards. Do you know where I could find this info out? If it is a will be able to reg in NH.

    Thanks for the reply

  8. Welcome, that is an ugly picture, would think that would break like that. There are some things that have been done to the radiators on this forum, you may want to do a search for them.

Again, Welcome, got some good people here that are all willing to try to help.

Here's what I did, http://www.utvboard.com/index.php?s=&s...post&p=3848 the fan shroud extend in so air passes thru the radiator only where the fan is, pull in out a little so it can pull air across all the radiator.

    Kinarfi

Thanks for the help and pics, I noticed on other posts that some people were having problems with fan blowing in the wrong direction. So I decided to check mine. It appears that my trooper is blowing away from the radiator. Is this right? Shouldn't be blowing air towards it?

  9. I'm taking my Trooper to the White Mountains for the summer, where there's lots of rain so I thought I better make some kind of a top. I had the material for a Bimini top but decided something more substantial was in order.

Instead of fabric I bought a 48"x48" piece of 1/8" ABS black plastic. The top took a piece 48"x33". The remaining piece I used to run behind the top down to the spare tire mount. That should keep a bit more of the rain out.

I used 1 1/2" foam pipe insulation around 3 sides of the top and attached the plastic sheet using cable ties. Using ties I can remove the top quickly. To stiffen the top I ran a piece of square aluminum running fore and aft along the center of the top.

Total investment was around $40.00. I'll let you know how it holds up in the Arizona sun.

I live in NH. Were you able to drive your Trooper on the roads? I registered my trooper as an ATV. Debating on trying and register as a car.

  10. Has anyone else ordered the hardtop for the t4? I placed an order for one last month when I bought my trooper but was told it was on back order. They told me that they have multiple orders and that i should buy one to in sure I would be one of the first to receive it.

Also does anyone have one now and how do they like it. The only reason why im buying one it because my kids are small and it cold where we live.

  11. I am new to this forum. I too am a trooper owner and have one of the first ones off the line. I have spend more time working on my buggy then driving it. I have done many changes too, most are the same problems as the rest of the trooper owners. One of my main complains is that the dealer I purchased my trooper at does not give me any support. I'll ask about a problem and he more or less tells me that no one else is having the problems, but when I go to Joyner they give me the part for free to repair my trooper. My trooper only has 2300 miles on it and I have street tires on it. All my miles are on the pavement or on a good logging road. I do not drive my trooper as if I stole it. Mostly on logging roads in BC Canada. I use my trooper for hunting and site seeing. I am sure I am not the only one having heating problems while driving at a rpm over 3500 rpm. I am putting a oil cooler on it as I speak. I am now getting a lot of slack in the rear end. My front drive shaft york is very loose on the spline. I will be going to Joyner next week to see what they will do for me. They have given me replacement parts such as a rear drive shaft, all new braking system, clutch linkage , rear fenders. So far Joyner has treated me pretty decent. We will see what happens. I,ll let you know. snowbird
