    JMC Motors has acquired the distribution rights for North, Central and South America for Joyner vehicles and parts. We are the exclusive distributor. We are opening a new parts distribution center in Chandler Az.. We have hired most of the key employees from Joyner, including Casey Strebe, Jeff Langseth, Kris Able.     We plan to introduce the 2010 vehicle line up as soon as we receive the EPA certification, which is expected in July. We are committed to increasing the quality of the product and maintaining a full parts inventory as well as technical support for your vehicles. We will have some exciting new vehicles planned for 2011.

    Hi Jeff, thanks for clearing that up. From day one when the news broke that TJ USA was going out of business there have been lots of rumors going around on what was going to happen. I herd a lot and indeed had been in contact with someone that was trying to put something together (could be one of your new partners). I have been guilty of passing on rumors too but at the end of the day its just human nature and Justin has just proved he is a human too. You have now finalized all the doubt we may have had so again thanks.

    The fact that there is no German involvement doesn't deter what I said above, just replace American where I said German and I'll stand by what I said.

  2. Hi Justin, thanks for the info. Totally different from what I thought was going on. Dealers around the globe must be very excited about this news. After all, everybody that has been involved with the Joyner brand on the wholesale & retail side, was first attracted by the design and features Joyner models have. For me it was the full automotive engine and transmission with a manual gearbox in the 3 Joyner UTVs that stood out. The first manufacture to break the CVT Motorbike mould.

    All the big Japanese & American UTV brands and Chinese knock offs are also big Motorbike and ATV brands and they are using the only technology they know and that would be a 1 or 2 piston CVT Motorbike engine with only 4 to 8 valves that are designed to drive 1 or 2 wheels, have top end power and haul nothing. Not 4wd and lots of low end power with added weight to strain the engine components with up to 4 people on a machine that is already over weight.

    A 1.6L Trooper would appeal to a lot of people and in my mind, would sell well. I would go a tab wider, longer and add 5" more ground clearance. I would also get the new design team (engineers) to consult with current Trooper owners right here on UTV Boards and have an on-going relationship with them and their UTVs. We already have a 3 year timeline on what fails and when.

    I would like to see a 1.1L Renegade too. Improve the power(power is already impressive) and quality on the Renegades and I reckon it could be the number one selling out of all UTVs within 3 years and that includes the Trooper. Reason been is the Renegade is a work vehicle first but also a play vehicle. The Trooper in mainly recreational.

    Connect German engineering and Joyner flair and what do you get? A well engineered machine that will take the abuse with good looks and, well, flair with the right formula for these off road vehicles. It's fair to say, "I'm excited about this news", and can't wait to see what rolls off the line six months from now.

  3. Those Commando front propeller guards look cheep but probably do the job they are designed for. I do agree with you and I would take them off, then go down to your locale engineer shop and get them to make up some aluminum replacements. He can use your old plastic ones as a templates.

  4. Chalkstk, look in page 159 of your Renegades owners manual. Part # 2 shows a photo of your ECU & that shows it is wide but flat so is easy to miss. On page 228, part #49 is the plastic cover. It should be bolted standing up-right by your passengers seat support normally behind. It is possible yours might be in a different area. Could be under the seat inside the storage. If it's in the front it should be near the battery in a well protected area but not likely. The Renegades have a really good rear inner mud guard that the Troopers don't have so forward of that is the best place to put the ECU.

    To find out what sensors you have and what they look like, starting from page 105 in your manual is a complete break down of you EFI system and troubleshooting paragraphs for you. Work your way through this without doing all the tests to quickly get you into the area you need to concentrate on and then to the tests.

  5. Rocmoc you are right and that's why the spare is a front wheel. Should of said when he replaced the tires with radials, the taller ones went on the front but now think it might be a case of over inflating a front tire and under doing a rear. When you look at Kinarfi's attached photos; top left shows a small rear tire size, top right shows stock set-up, bottom left shows the rear a lot smaller than the front (grab a pen to use as a quick comparison by holding up to the screen) and bottom right shows bigger rears.

    I just noticed a roof rack too. Man this thing must be so unsteady fully loaded. I have driven a T4 that was fully loaded with 4 people, two dogs and gear while towing a small trailer with a decent load on it up a rough mountain track only as wide as the T4 in places with huge drop offs and I had nothing but smiles and full admiration for what the T4 can do. A five seater T2 could not do that IMHO.

    Some of us have cut off the spare tire bracket to save on un-wanted weight up high, the question is, " how do you reckon this thing would go on one of your tracks with a two seater T2"?

  6. Why, why, why would you do that. It looks fugly and a disaster waiting to happen. For a start the front and rear wheels have been swapped over, presumably because this would give you more ground clearance when you have a full load of people sitting behind you. The Troopers have plenty of power, just imagine if four mates turn up for a ride and they all weigh the same as you. One, you want to show them what your Trooper can do and two, just how fast the Trooper can do it. Problem is you have 600lbs sitting in the rear and 400lbs in the front. You are going to roll at speed for sure at the 1st corner.

    If you want a five seater Trooper buy a T4 and add the bench seat in the rear. If you really want to do this with your T2, don't swap the wheels over for a start. Drop the rear axle, increase the rear tires size, add 2" wheel spacers and get better suspension.

    after many hours chasing wires, I found the diagnostic connector routed clear up by the fuse/relay box under R/H front fender. Joyner said it should be near the ECU "not". On the mid production 08 models it is, but on the first run of machine they forgot to re-route it to the back. This is a 3 wire connector that doesn't have any thing hooked to it. It is only usefull if you have the scanner. This info is mostly aimed at dealers who might be having trouble finding the diag. port. I also had to remove 2 of the 3 wires from the connector to get data to flow. The center and one of the 2 end ones. I had to trace wire color from ECU to determine which wire was diag. lead. On this particular machine it is the yellow wire, disconect the other two. Good luck A.

  8. Hi yowaysc and welcome to UTV Boards. I love the Renegades and good to see a few more owners popping up here.

    I have had a problem with starting a Renegade before when cold and it was fuel pressure. Turn your key enough to run the fan and fuel pump once and see what the fuel pressure is. Then do the same another 3 or 4 times without starting and check again. You can wait to see if it drops but I would just go ahead and start it and if this is the problem it will fire up. This problem resolved itself after I took off and reconnect all fuel lines.

    I have had two 08 R2s that had the fuel lines plumbed wrong so next time check the routing from the tank onto the Carbon can control valve and fuel filter through to the fuel regulator. Mine would not start and nor should yours if it is plumbed wrong but you never know so still check and while you are there make sure all connections are tight.

    I would also check your voltage on your battery. This was the cause of my Trooper not starting. The battery seemed fine, just a little weak but as soon as I replaced with a new battery, away she went. The stock batteries on the 08 models are very average.

    Lastly, it could be a failing fuel pump. Hopefully the shop will sort it out for you.

    Now, if I'm not mistaking, on the first run of Renegades up to half way through 08, the diagnostic connector wasn't routed back to where it's supposed to be near the ecu (as shown in the Renegades owners manual). Anylizer (a UTV Board member) posted all the good oil on this somewhere so will try and find it for you, but there is most certainly a diagnostic connector.

  9. Frankie, the intake hose on a Renegade is the same on a Trooper so will fit. To double check when you order, your intake flexi hose is 70mm or 7cm. That is the same size as the K&N pod filter and stock pod filter.

    There is more than one way to tackle the heat & dust problem you may have with your Renegade. This is what I did on a Commando 4 seater. The Commandos have a normal intake like the Renegade so we simply ran good quality hose & stainless steel pipe from the intake box up and out into the open and topped it off with a 90 degree bend. An enclosure was going over the top so we faced it forward to ram air into the intake. A small pre-filter is recommended to go over the hose.

  10. We have a different take on the English language out here from you guys such as: You call a money belt a fanny pack. Don't do that here as a fanny is the front part of a woman's private parts. The word Chuck here means Vomit, Wagon means Station Wagon so would be laughed at if you drove a Vomit Station Wagon. No offence but it's just got an unfortunate name for NZ & Australia.

    Moving forward, it sounds like American Motorsports are the new American franchise owners. Cheers for that Jarrad, so lets all get behind them, welcome them and get things up and running again.

  11. Good spotting plumber. It looks like they already make UTVs and in the past had a brand called a "Brister's ChuckWagon". Have not herd of them out here, so are they any good? The poster said, 'I hope they don't cheapen the brand'. What does he mean by that?

  12. Yes you are resetting your computer. This makes me think it is an intermitting problem like a small short in your wire harness.

    Look in your ECU Troubleshoot in your Renegade owners manual on page 139/140. The title is: Idle is too high(ECU needs self-study again)

    The important thing here is take it to an Auto Sparky to fix I think, because as soon as he uses a Diagnostic Reader, he should know what's going on. More that likely it is stated in that section in your manual, otherwise I think it is a wire shorting the circuit somewhere.

  13. Not that I have come across. You could go with K&N Pod filter and set it up like a snorkel, like this Air Filter/Snorkle - UTV BOARD - Side X Side and UTV Forum post 10. The K&N part # is RC-4160 and pre-filter is #RC-4160-DK. You could mount it in the engine bay, but why would you.

    Fram do make a Air Filter that is a cross brand for the Renegade stock air box. I can't find the part number but if you take it into your local parts store, they will find the match & you never know, they might find a K&N match too.

    TJ USA did have a part conversion chart and they state in there that a CARQUEST Air Filter part # CA3718 . We don't have CARQUEST over here so don't know what they are like.

    Both lead singers are dead now.

    Shihad are the current Kings of rock these days in NZ and Aussie too. Australia always claim our bands as theirs as it is a natural progression to move over to Aussie and try and crack the big time

  15. I have not herd of someone doing this before but anything is possible. Looking in the manual it is not a simple case of bolting on a front diff onto the rear, the bolt patterns are in the wrong place and the spider gears will be facing the wrong way. You maybe able to replace all the moving parts in your exciting diff to go lsd. If you look on page 104 of you Commando manual you will find the front diff and 108 on is the rear ( on-line manual is http://joyner.com.au/docs/manuals/650commando2_manual_JNSZ650UV.pdf ) . You wont be able to use the same gears so you need to find out if your existing spider gears will fit in with the other parts front a front diff. The other problem is the propeller shafts on the front coming out of the diff are two different part numbers and the rear propeller shafts which have the same part number is different to the front ones(3 part# numbers). If you do manage to achieve this, without a lockable rear diff, basically you will still only have 2wd even when you are in 4wd when you get stuck.

    Have you considered getting some lawn friendly tires like Titan Turf Trac Tires R/S. John Deere Gator tires have a good range of lawn tires. You would only need a minimum of two so will work out cheaper and is not experimental. Good luck with what ever you decide and welcome to UTV Boards.

The bands above AC/DC are all New Zealand bands and just as a matter of interest, have any of you herd of any of them? As you can tell with the rest of the list, they will be rock or heavy rock bands.

  17. I printed off four model manuals then got lazy and simply used TJs website. If you do print one off for yourself and are not to sure how to do odd & even pages back to back, download the file onto a memory stick and take it down to a Stationary shop and get them to do it. That way the manual will end up having the bookbinding done properly.
