Curtis Instruments 1232/34/36/38 Manual

Curtis 1232, 1234, 1236, and 1238 AC induction motor controllers deliver smooth power unlike any previous vehicle control system. They provide unprecedented flexibility and power through inclusion of a field-programmable logic controller embedded in a state-of-the-art motor controller.

The embedded logic controller runs a fully functional field-oriented AC motor control operating system (OS) that can be user-tailored via parameter modification; see Section 3. The OS also contains logic to execute OEMdeveloped software, called VCL, that can be used to enhance the controller capabilities beyond the basics; see Section 7.

VCL (Vehicle Control Language) is an innovative software programming language developed by Curtis. Many electric vehicle functions are uniquely built into the VCL code, and additional functions can be OEM-controlled using VCL code. VCL opens new avenues of customization, product differentiation, and responsiveness to the market.

The CAN bus communications included in the 1232/34/36/38, as well as in many other Curtis products, allow these AC induction motor controllers to be part of an efficient distributed system. Inputs and outputs can be optimally shared throughout the system, minimizing wiring and creating integrated functions that often reduce the cost of the system.

Curtis 1232/34/36/38 controllers are the ideal solution for traction, hoist, dual drive, and other motor drive and vehicle control needs.

I had a problem 6-8 mo ago when the unit would not start . But you could see power on the dash. The starter solenoid was replaced and it has been fine until yesterday. When I started it up I noticed a high pitched noise coming from under the front. Like a alarmbuzz ..It seemed to drive fine so I went ahead and used it off and on for a hour or so . The noise would not go away . I parked it in the shed and lifted the hood . It seemed to be coming from the battery compartment ( where the new starter solenoid is) I jiggled the connections and the noise changed timbre and then the machine went dead. No power at all . No lights . When you cross the two poles on the starter solenoid ( previously last year it would start and run ) nothing. Checked the battery and it is fully charged . I checked the fuses inside the battery box and they all looked good  but I must be missing something. Anyone have a clue what I need to do next to R&R. The closest repair place is 2 hours away in Mississippi . Any help would be appreciated.

I have  2008 Cub Cadet Volunteer Tracker.  Was running fine, parked and next morning electric fuel pump inop.  Checked voltage had 4.2 volts.  Swapped relays in fuse box, checked all fuses (good) and still low voltage.   Does the ECU control the voltage to the fuel pump or which relay controls the voltage to the pump?
Have checked all wiring and not found any place it could be shorted (not saying I may have missed something). I am at a loss.  Need Help Please.

Is it possible to add power steering?  If so where do I find parts?

Okay folks. I have a low power issue. Been like this for a few years. Place I work at bought 3 and all have lost most of the pulling power.  They gave them away after local shop worked on one for 3 months and it had great power for about 1 month and then crap. They replaced throttle body, fuel injector, spark plug and IAC motor. Seat belt switches have wires cut and left open so no seat belt warning light anymore. It revs to 6k rpm in neutral but when put in gear and take off in low it just doesn’t seem to want to go anymore. Running 93 octane fuel with Stabil.  Any ideas greatly appreciated. I dont have a scan tool but no codes on dash. If held to floor it pops a little and runs almost 5K rpm but if I let off pedal about an inch it smoothed out and revs up to 6k rpm.

I just purchased an Axis Pro 750 from Lowes.  I have two questions not covered in owners manual.  1:  In the glovebox there is a 12V connector, it is HOT with key off, is that for a battery maintainer to be plugged in or what is the purpose?  2:  In the instrument cluster there is a digital read out for hours, miles and odometer,  there is also a digital readout that is flashing, it can be adjusted and looks like 1 - 24  what is it?
