You may need to pull the fuse/relay holder and see if the wires have gotten hot and corroded of discolored the connections which would indicate the need to replace some of the wiring. If your into or know some one who is, you may want to replace the relays with P channel FETs that are hard wired it and not plugged into a connector. The fan is powered up with one relay and the fuel pump with another, so your problem is probably that is common to both. Take a look at the parts and pieces thread and down load the schematic.

I just read this and wanted to know what is a P channel FET and where can I get them. Maybe this will correct my surge problem in my T2. I have already direct wired my fan because it melted the connector and wires, possibly there is a vibration causing the ECM relay to jump. I will try just about anything to fix the problem.

Google "P Channel Mosfet" and take a look at images, that's what they look like, just a power transistor. They work just like a relay if wired correctly and need to be mounted to a heat sink just for safety sake so they don't fry during turn off and turn on. To turn them on though, you tie the gate to ground instead supplying power like you do for the coil of a relay to turn them on, so to replace the relay, you need a PFET and an NFET or NPN transistor to invert the turn on voltage and ground the gate. The nice thing is that there is no plug ins, it's direct wired so they don't corrode and heat and the IRF4905 can handle 50 amps safely. I serious doubt that it will help with your surge problem unless maybe your losing power to you fuel pump momentarily, but you said it's already hard wired. If you really want to replace the relays with FETs, let me know and put it together for you for costs.

If you dought it would help then I'll bypass this fix. thanks anyhow

I reread your posts and you said you direct wired your fan, what about the fuel pump, have you direct wired it also? It may be in the process of melting the same as the fan. I have never been a big fan of push in fuses, they don't have enough contact area and if they get hot, they lose the contact pressure and get hotter yet and it keeps going until melt down and I think the fuse blocks in our rigs suffer from that. Just about every one has had a fuse or relay socket melt. That's why you need to pull and reinsert them from time to time, to knock of any accumulated dirt or corrosion, IMHO.

i found transister type relays at auto parts store. good for 30amps replaced all the relays with them and everything is working good. no heat up that i can find anywhere, and they only cost $8.00 apiece.

Hope I posted this in the right place. Looking for the left side shaft carrier where the rear bearings go for an 1100cc sand viper, I understand an 800 cc carrier will also work. I need the old style two bearing with the spacer in the middle, the new style with just the one wide bearing wont work. If anybody has one I'll buy it right away. my email is [email protected]

My rtv 1140 won't turn over.  I've jumped the neutral switch, and the brake switch, and checked the ignition switch. I'm not getting any power to the trigger wire on the starter solenoid.  It starts fine with the key on and putting power to the trigger wire on the solonoid.
Does a 2010 RTV 1140 cpx have a starter relay?
Does anyone have a wiring diagram?

I heard there's several off road festivals out that way. One or two post apocalyptic, the rest just rev and run. Anyone know a good one that offers camping? Any advice for out of state people like hauling, legality, and where to stay?
Ideally me and the missus would be down for camping out and setting up shop somewhere nearby. That way we can just wake up, load up, and ride.

Have a MSU 500 that we got from my wife's uncle a while back. We've had it running and hauling around the property but it stopped a few months ago after what I thought was running out of gas and I'm just getting to looking into it.
Had fuel to the injector but nothing coming out the injector so swapped with new injector and installed inline filter in the supply hose from fuel pump. Tried again and still nothing but noticed this time that I can't hear the fuel pump priming.
Pulled off the electrical connection and I'm getting 12V to the fuel pump but it won't run. Put it on a test bench and got it to run so put test lamp between +ve and -ve terminals on the connector and nothing. Checked against the passenger seat securing post and get a light.
Tried chasing the wire back and think that the ground is through the ECU but not 100% sure. Can someone confirm for me? And if it is through the ECU, is the ECU just grounded against the frame or is it wired through to the battery?
Thanks in advance and hope this all make sense!

Parting out a rolled Sand viper 1100. I will list some of the parts I have, otherwise ask me if there is something specific you are looking for. I am selling everything I have for $800. I am located near Glenwood Springs CO.
SOLD ITEMS, I do not have these items.
      Wheels
      Tires
      Engine
      Transmission
      Axles
      Shocks
      Control Arms
Things I have....These all came off of the running engine. I have video of it running if anyone needs to verify that.
      Throttle Body $90
      Starter $150
      Alternator $150
      Fuel rail, injectors, fpr $100

I have a box full of misc bolts, nuts, etc.
I will sell the Chassis or Frame alone for $200. The chassis is in pretty good shape, needs some cage repair and 2 areas straightened where control arms mount. If anyone had an automotive frame machine it would take a few hours.
      That would include....
Brake calipers, lines, pedal, master cyl, E brake assy,
      Steering shaft, wheel
      Ignition switch, key
      Light bar frame, 2 lights
      misc hardware, spindles

I am parting this out of ebay right now, I just picked up another project and could use the room. No I will not take less than $700 for all of it or $200 for the frame. I do not need to sell it, I will make far more parting it out but would like the extra space in the garage.
If interested I also have an 07 1000rr engine setup I would sell with the buggy for $650.
      Thanks!
