Has anyone installed an aftermarket electrical temp gauge that works with stock wiring? I was having problems with inaccurate readings (fluctuations) so I bought an Autometer electric gauge and wired up using stock wiring. The gauge works but is reading a little over 100 degrees and that was with the engine cold right after I fired it up. Got all the way up to almost 250. So, I put the stock gauge back on and it read correctly - right around 194-200. I then put the new Autometer back on and just hooked up the ignition and ground and it read nothing. Put the sending unit wire on and the reading was still high. Unfortunately, I will have to get adapters to get the new Autometer sending unit to work as the adapters they give you won't work and the sending unit itself is just a bit too small to fit. I was hoping it might work as I put in an Autometer oil pressure gauge and didn't have to buy any fittings. The sending unit actually screwed right into the block and it was easy. So, any ideas on what I can do with the stock wiring or am I destined to running a new wire along with getting adapters to get this to work. Autometer gauge is part#5837 which is 2 5/8" and I will have to round out the hole in the dash some more to get it to fit nicely.

You shouldn't need to change the wiring but you will have to use the sensor that came with the gauge.

Lenny, thanks for the info. Then the next question would be which of the 3 wires going into the current sensor should i use. I looked at them and none match exactly with the wires connected to the gauge itself. Would be easy if there was as an exact match but there isn't. Any ideas!

I have purchased a used Supermach700 (2008), It runs great after a new choke cable but. The temp sensor on the thermostat house is unhooked and can not find where it plugs back in. The fan has been un hooked from the sensor in the rad and cant figure out how it goes back together properly.  The fan was wired to a by pass switch and i just always leave it on but would like to work it properly. I assume the sensor went bad and not changed.

      any help would be great.

      thanks

Hello, we recently got a 2013 Hisun 800 as a little project for my husband and I to work on. Turns out the guys before us loved the mud anyway. We have replaced the stator and now going to do the Rectifier but here is the hold up as seen in the picture. There are tons of wires going to the battery. I cant seem to find anything that shows what wires should, or shouldn't be attached to the battery or where these 2 plugs go. if someone would please take some pics or share knowledge to where they go I would appreciate it greatly.

When I am driving at 30 to 40 mph on the highway, the display will change from H (high) to R (reverse).  It does not actually shift into reverse, it seems to shift into neutral and starts losing speed and the gas pedal has no effect.  After the rpm/speed drops for 5 seconds or so, it changes back to H and runs fine for another minute or so.  You have to try to drive it at less than 5000 rpm or so, to try and keep this from happening.  Any ideas on what the problem might be?  It only happens at the higher speeds.

      Hi All
Just installed a predator 670 on my Landmaster. My question is can I remove the low oil pressure wire fitting and plumb my mechanical gauge into that access point?
Thanks in advance for your advice !!
