    Ok, sounds like the Linhai 400 equivalent is compatible then. They have a slightly different cover design with a bulge at the top which is why the gasket doesn't work. The liquid gasket is a pain. I had the same oil leak that you have because I didn't use the exact recommended liquid gasket. Pulled it all apart and back again to fix it. I think that is why my wires are frayed now and need to replace the stator. Thanks for the response and good luck with the next bug.

    Just curious if you found a solution to finding a replacement stator or an equivalent solution. I am in a similar issue where my wires have frayed at the point where they enter the engine and it is shorting out. Very difficult finding a replacement it seems.
