  1. Lenny, that's good idea but I'm not going with a canvas top i have plans to put sheet metal on top inn place where safari rack used to be. Then I'm going to junkyard and pull a manual sunroof and maybe install it and also paint the roof panel

Rocmoc so from what i understand you have more gap on bottom and windshield stop at driver side hump on dash correct?

  2. Rocmoc also, I'm wondering did the 3 inch gap on top and 1 inch gap on bottom for venting worked good for you? I'm thinking about making that big vent holes in the sheet metal if i do it like bruhaw but not as nice due to using a air powered cut off wheel freehand

  3. Bruhaw, are those clamps same thing extreme metal products or different?

Your window look good, does it fold down? I believe i see bolts for hinges on bottom?

Also I'm wondering how did you manage that metal around glass? It looks like more than just L angle metal brackets welded up together.

Its just my 27 year old brain can't imagine how to do that haha.

Thanks guys for all the information though

  4. Great I'm now debating on if i should use acrylic or polycarbonate plastic or should i just go for automotive grade windshield?

I ask because i find acrylic shatter easily if hit by a small rock under 15 mph but have better clarity and there also is impact resistant acrylic and also scratches is easily polished out of acrylic and with polycarbonate its very solid but soft and easily scratched and fogged up

  5. Sounds pretty BA to me but I'm not your wife, or your neighbor....Not to worry, they will adapt. Looks like you've been playing in the mud some, too! Nice video. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the compliment, i wasn't sure if it sounds good to others at first but my neighbors won't mind we all are farmers with loud equipments there's some mud here but i don't feel i have enough though i wish i could join you guys in utah and az on Rides.

    Maybe one day

  6. my catalyst convertor cracked halfway through the tubing so i cut it off and then had a straight pipe welded on. The mod was free because i had exhaust pipe laying around.

I posted a video of sound of the exhaust. My wife hated the NEW sound please let me know what u think..

  7. Hello,

I noticed my outer tie rod ends on trooper have zerk grease fitting so i decided to try grease these and the zerk snapped off. The tie rods are already shot and sloppy loose. I'm wondering if anyone have found an alternative to Joyner's weak tie rod ends. Did someone find set from a car to fit?

I tried searching the forum for answers before i posted this.

    Thanks

    Brandon

  8. I'm sorry if I missed the info in other post but I think it's not there. I am wondering about the intake manifold you are working on,

Will it be in stock position or would it be flipped upright like some of the members on the forum had done with their stock manifold by flipping it over.

So would your intake manifold be designed to fit like stock or in flipped upside down position or both or what?

    Thanks

    Brandon

  9. Hello everyone,

I had been enjoying my trooper in snow and mud and can't wait to take it to ATV parks and such as.

I replaced my cooling fan for one from silver bullet it was pretty tight fit but anyways after I got done putting new fan and shroud in. I found my wires pulled out of my connector its for the oxygen sensor that go post/after the catalyst convertor.

Can anyone please tell me which wires go in which slot (A-D)?

    Thanks

    Brandon

  10. My rear ones are like yours. The rear doesn't have steering linkage to deal with. Spacing them 180 degrees apart should be a bit better as it would allow some rotor heat to disapate before getting to the next caliper.

    Lenny

Sounds good so I just need to order pair of dual caliper bracket and second set of caliper and brake lines for front?

    Brandon

  11. Here are some pics of the dual calipers. I have the same setup on all four wheels. There are 6 pictures to click thru.

    Lenny

    That looks good and factory.

I'm asking because my trooper have two calipers on both rear wheels so I'm wondering what parts would I need to buy to make front dual?

I also noticed your calipers are side by side next to each other on my trooper rear set up both caliper are halfway apart on rotor at 9 o clock and 3 o clock

    Was yours the same way?

  12. My clutch was doing the same thing and I had to replace the master cylinder to fix it. I switched my brakes from the criss-cross setup a long time ago. It works just fine. If you remember, I have 2 calipers on each wheel, all for braking with my parking brake being on the front drive shaft. My brakes work great. I can come onto a corner hot and hit the brakes last minute as I'm beginning to turn. The front dips and hoggs in real good without skidding while the back also grabs good without skidding except for a slight drift to the side which sets me up for the corner. I don't think I could get the brakes to work any better for handling when I'm hot roding a trail. I haven't had to do any adjusting for bias. When I stop straight, it stays straight, that is unless I lock up all 4 then It might move around some. All the lines meet under the center cover ahead of the shifter. Thats where the two splitter blocks are. All you have to do is switch around which lines go to what splitter.

    Lenny

    Hey Lenny,

I'm curious what did it take to mount two caliper on both front wheel?

    Thanks

    Brandon

  13. Lol I like logging roads and I have taken my trooper into woods where only quads and dirty bikes can go no truck or tractor could penetrate the woods at all and went over fell logs no problem it did very good for me I only like high speed for fields and gravel road to get from one spot to other spot and AC/cab isn't important to me yet lol it do get hot/humid in Iowa in summer recent summer it was as high as 115/120 and sticky it was terrible if u didn't have any breeze on you.

I think maybe silver bullet motorsport might have valves for u or maybe u could take measurements of valves and order stronger better ones? Those shim packs I heard cause more trouble than help down the road from my automotive class teacher, i'm currently in diesel/medium heavy duty trucks class ill ask the teacher in that what he thinks of those. He's a whiz at engines

Also i'm not a fan of taking some amount off the tip of stem

  14. I hesitate to use the word lemon, but being as my compression on cylinder one is 0 except for when it's revving up, then it's 120, so I need to do it over, 2 & 3 were 75, then my tester broke, so I think I'll just go buy one and start over.

But maybe we can change lemons into oranges.

I was looking at mine after I started this post and it looks like 10 or 15 degrees would work with the current swing arm. but I don't think I'll even mess with this idea.

    Kinarfi

U rebuilt the engine once already right? Did u made sure to position the piston rings where gaps doesn't line up and is 120 degree from each other to prevent easy route for blow by?

I believe that trooper is a excellent foundation to build a rock crawler from a trooper just replace the front and rear whole suspension and put Dana 44 in front and rear and build up a 3/4 link coil over solid axle suspension similar to Jeep and u got a smaller than Jeep crawler
