  1. honestly in my opinion the easiest way is to pull the motor but not completeley just pick it up high enough to work on the clutch... bell housing bolts engine mount bolts ( only to the frame not the block!!) start lifting it up and disconect only what needs to be... i have mine out 3 times now and can now r&r the clutch in about and hour and a half...

  2. I recently had my starter go out. Itook it to a local starter and alternator shop, and they replaced it with a starter and solenoid out of a mitsubishi, i have not found out which model yet but it only cost me around 80$. Then last week the alt locked up... took it to the same place and although he could not fix mine, on the shelf he had a mitsu alt that was the same down. the the 3 wire plug! Once again he didnt know what model or year it came off of but there is a pattern starting to emergnd once again less then 100$... as soon as i have it in my hands i am gonna try to find numbers and research it but moral of this whole thing is look around there is a lot of these shops around and you can prolly have it fixed locally for a whole lot cheaper! Good luck and i will post new info as it comes!

  3. Thanks again rocmoc they are at their new home being torn down as we speek! We have already ordered mega squirts. Turbos tires lights hyd steering kits and and the heads are being sent tomorrow for full port work and custom ground cams! They should be pretty insane within a few weeks! We will be posting pics soon! Thanks again! Josh

  4. its close to the same as that one beside using what i would call a better turbo and components... mine would be one off built for your specs.. but honestly they do have a nice kit.. feel free to call me and i can go over everything with you as well as send you pics. i am not trying to get rich over this, i just really like the Joyner and love disproving their bad wrap! mine is a serious head turner and i would like to see more like it! i would put mine against any Ranger RZR and leav'em behind!

  5. well the project took a lot of fabrication but done once now it would be pretty easy to duplicate.. if someone can tell me how to post pics on here i will.. it looks really good and turns a lot of heads, especially when they hear the blow off valve! have a few people here in Houston i am already building them for so i figured i would keep going... and rocmoc i would agree! it would help a lot in the mud too! maybe that will be my next project....

  6. Hey guys,

so i have built my own turbo kit in house and it works awesome! seeing these turbo kits for sale for 3 and 4k seemed a little steep for me..

i built my entire kit intercooled and all for less then half of that price so i am considering selling these kits.. if i could produce a complete bolt on kit that could be installed with simple hand tools in your garage strait for $1800 and intercooled for $2500 would any of you be inerested? i would like to post pics but not sure how to? i have also snorkled my trooper and not just the air filter but diff vents, the two chrome catch cans (crankcase vent and radiator vent) along with raising the ECM and fuse boxes to head level.. this as well could be sold as a kitfor very little cost. i can also do the work in-house if needed (install all of this for you) for only a couple of hundred... is this stuff you guys would be interested in? Turbo kits will be complete al the way down to an Autometer Vac/Boost guage, fuel controller etc.... i have seen a HUGE increse in power! if you have more questions you can call me at 713-824-8891 i'm in the Houston Texas area.

Also Lenny would you mind calling me so i could pic your brain for a min? some questions about this site (how to post pics, stetting up my profile etc.) as well as a few other things.

Thanks i love this forum and really look foward to helping in the future! and really like seeing extreme joyners on the trail!

  7. i am running 30" Silverbacks on 14" wheels i had to put 2" wheel spacers up front... now the wheel base width is exactly the same. i love 'em! no fender well trimming.

you can also adjust out the rear himze joints to offset the a-arm foward a little bit

  8. and sorry lenny like i said i took my starter to a local starter & alt. rebuild place and the guy there told me it was a Mitsubishi starter and he did put a new motor and solinoid on it and did it in only a few hours... i will try to get by there asap and find out exactly which year make and model it will fit... i know the fron housing has to be reused but the motor and sol. are mitsu...

  9. i was on the phone with No Limits Powersports asking about buying a new Trooper T2 for my buddy...

i was told they were bought out and resumed buisness and also that the 1100cc Chery motor was built by

John Deere, and i could buy parts for the motor from my local John Deere dealer... has anyone else heard

this? is he full of it or truthful? i am asking because i am going to order the cams and rebuild the head and need a top end gasket kit....

  10. Thanks for all the help! and on the starter issue conversion, i will try to find exactly what year and model starter myou can buy that fits... a local starter/alt shop is who rebuilt it for me... i am very good at find conversion parts or crossover parts so if you guys would like i will post them? i am currently checking into the wheel bearings and have found them made by National i will post part numbers soon. as well break pads? looking to see what i can find locally... again thanks for the help and i will be doing lots of reading!

  11. Hello UTVBoard!

I am new to this site as well as a new onwer of a Joyner Trooper T2. I am very skilled in mechanical knowledge, I love this buggy but am starting to notice some flaws and issues finding parts...

I am located in houston TX and use my Trooper for mud, and we all know how hard on anything mud is!

I am interested in turbocharging my Trooper. I have everything figured out except, fuel management & timing (retarding the timing) what do i need to do as far as fuel management and do i need to pull away some timing? I'm only looking for about 6 PSI But anyone who knows much about boost knows at 0 psi (Atmospheric pressure) you ar pruducing around 14 PSI, add 6 more and you are close to 20 overall... i have always run head studs, cometic head gaskets etc. being how hard it is to find parts for the chery motor its looking like that stuff is not gonna be an option... how dependable is this motor when super or turbo charging? what will be my next week link? i have already ordered the kevlar clutch, what else can i expect to need? by the way i will be running an intercooler... i know its not really needed for only 6 PSI but the kind of riding we do is a lot of lower speeds so an intercooler will help with keeping temps down... big thanks for any help!

Second i have already (on my first ride) had diff issues... the guy i bought it from said both diffs were upgraded but.... the rear diff failed, the 12 bolts that hold the ring gear losened then stripped out then fell out.... I have plenty of experiance setting up ring and pinions and both the ring and pinion gears looked perfect, the spider gears could be better but far from bad... i re tapped the ring gear got heat treated hardened steel bolts and loc-tite sealed it back up and on the trail again.. all of the bearings looked good, im not a big fan of re-using seals but didnt want to search for new ones when these were ok... how do i tell if they were upgraded???

Third The dang starter... wasn't working when i got the buggy but a little looking and figured out the starter motor crosses over to a mitsubishi starter motor and soliniod... new starter installed and i still have the soliniod "clickl" but no starter, enough turns of the key and it engages... sometimes ten to fifteen cycles and sometimes it starts on the first try.. very frustrating! i have not checked the voltage at the starter but being so sparatic i dont think thats the issue. anything you guys know that i dont? anything i should check?

last is there anything that crosses over to the Chery Motor? toyota, mazda, mitsu stc.????

Thanks for any help or advice i am learning a lot about this thing and it is flat AWESOME off road!

look foward to helping with anything i can in the future!

    Thanks Josh AKA Swamp Donkey
