  1. In a regular car, this would be diagnosed as a malfunctioning Bendix gear.  I assume this starter is the same. First, always make sure you have a fully charged battery before assuming this is the problem. The bendix gear is on the front of the starter and when the starter starts running,, centrifugal force makes the gear go forward and the starter then engages a large gear on the motor.   The motor then turns and starts. So it sounds as the starter is running, but the bendix is not being activated.

  2. I do not believe the Buck has a synchromesh transmission and it is recommended not to shift without stopping. Each time the transmission grinds it is wearing the gears until it eventually fails.   It also leaves metal chips in the oil which causes other problems.  It is important to change the transmission oil in the buck to remove any chips or pollutants, especially since the clutch shares this oil.

  3. I did a search for recommendations for atv utv oil and selected Lucusoil.  It was $7 a quart when I bought it.  Now Amazon is out and others want $15 a quart. $10 for a oil change on a $6000 utv did not seem excessive. (1 1/2  x $7).  $22.50 is steep.  Do a search and make your own choice what you want to go with.

  4. I used both but I probably could have gotten by with just the brush, since it really is a small area.  I took the tie downs off as well as the rails and coated the rails separately.  But what ever you wish to do.  I was pleased with the finished job.
