  1. We finally was able to get to the trails today. They're in Sullivan mo. Moonlight Offroad park. All I can say about the way the Dominator performed is WOW I was well worth every minute we put into all the work on the suspension. It is enjoyable to ride in now doesn't beat you up. It almost like riding in my son's 1000XP RZR It rent up hills alot easier than when it was stock suspension. 30" Rockabillys work great. And power steering and Polaris rack turns alot sharper that the original one. It didn't rub real bad .we just going to modified the little spot where it's hitting. The suspension is working so good don't want to adjust the springs their set for perfect shock length travel also for CV shafts max movement. According to the Shock therapy saying how to set up the shock. Thanks for your input. I'm always willing to listen to others. O almost forgot we tried a 1.5 spacer actually made it worse.
  2. It only rubbing when I was backing out of the shop turned really sharp barely heard it on the floorboards . It turns alot sharper with the Polaris rack than Odes one.My soninlaw has a set of 1.5" spacers I could try . But I think it would make it worse. We might be going out tomorrow. I'll find out how everything works. Thank for the suggestion.
  3. Just finished getting the 30×10×14 on today. My soninlaw had them on when I got home from work. It was raining this evening couldn't go for a ride. The front rubs when they are turned.I might relocate the A arms forward a couple of inches. To get the clearance needed. Sure makes the machine look different. It has the short A arms
  4. Grandkids get to help when ever they're around maybe they will remember what they learned to maybe down th road.I enjoy showing them how to do whatever we're working on. Pretty much this thing is treated like a budget build.for the most part. Thanks for the kind words. Next thing is to modifications to front Aarm moving forward the 30" hit the floor board when turning sharp.
  5. I don't have the extra money to spend for the factory top.$499.00 can buy a few other needed parts. And I enjoy making this kinda stuff anyway. Made a top out of some vinyl I had left over from a project 35 years ago. I got some eyelets from Harbor freight for $4.00 and a can of spray glue from parts store for $22.00 and a assortment of small bungie from Harbor Freight. I left the mounts for the factory top intact just incase I get one it go back into place. I also put a Super ATV windshield on flip out .I have to say well worth the money spent. The fit was perfect and very easy to install.
  6. The turning radios is alot sharper with the Polaris rack forsure. Only problem now might be the 30x10x14 Rockabillys rubbing.
  7. I just picked up 5 used 30×10×14 Rockabillys 30% tread on the worst one for $150.00 for all.
  8. Made a aluminum plate to tie in the rear rear A arm together for strength.
  9. This video was with the 2011 Polaris 800 s shocks We changed to the fox shocks after that . It was dark when I took it for a ride tonight when we got done.it still smooth but feels like it has less body role with fox over the stock Polaris ones. The fox shocks were the same length as the Polaris ones. They came off a 700 2 seater wolverine than my soninlaw picked up for his wolverine but wouldn't work different years and his is a 4 seater. So I ended up with them. Have to have the 30" tire put on yet. With the fox shock I have 12" front and back ground clearance. 20201121_142943_001.mp4
  10. The powerstearing unit is working great it is like driving a completely different machine.
  11. New Polaris rack works great and the Super ATV EPS . Turned out easy and nice.
  12. Didn't get finished welding up the new bracket ran out of wire.
  13. I didn't have to find new bushings anymore. We went riding a couple of weeks ago and pretty rough trail.Long story short it the already damaged rack and bracket ended up getting torn off and broken the rack. I ended up getting a rack for a Polaris rzr off Amazon for $59.00 and a EPS for a Ace Polaris from Super ATV on sale for.$169.00 I adapted them to the Dominator going to finish up the work tomorrow night.
  14. Rear has 12.5 " of ground clearance now. Had to raise the bed up 3" to clear the shocks. Also moved the bed ram bottom mount to the rear by the back part of the frame. We put a new crossmember in replace of the original shock crossmember because we had to cut it to align the frame.I guess mine was made on a monday after the welder had a bad weekend. Lol the upper frame was out of square. The machine dog tracked bad. Didn't notice it when I bought it.. Soninlaw is a great body man very good at what he does. Still have to make the plate that bolts to the Aarm bushings bolts to hold them in 0place after alignment. Hopefully this week we'll get the Polaris steering rack and EPS on. The original brackets for the rack is bent up and twisted up. The new one definitely will be stronger..
  15. I picked up a set of 4 rzr 800 shocks and springs . We got front put on and wow what a difference. 2 of us pushing Down on the front bumper couldn't get it to give maybe a 1/2 " The rzr springs are just like when I pressed down on my son's rzr 1000xp. I only lost 1/2" of ground clearance down to 12" my steering rack came in today .I'm making new mounts for a rzr rack. Mine broke last week. Broke the mounting tabs off the rack and the frame mounts bent. They were bent when I got the machine. I'm going with hiem joints also. Have extra parts from my son's rzr. We are adding 3 " to the wheel base by use 2018 Yamaha wolverine rear A arm very little modifications to use them just my opinion. My soninlaw had a new set he has extra. 20201010_102140.mp4
  16. Has anyone replaced the stock shocks and springs on their 2015 Dominator 800 X2 to ride alittle smoother are just changing the springs out.I gotten alittle spoiled riding in my son's rzr 1000xp. My wife just made a comment why don't ride as smooth as our son's thing.lol I'm 62 she's 61 the little rough ride doesn't really bother me. I drive a concrete mixer for a living. I really like the Odes it's pretty good power for for only 800cc I took off the cat and the stock muffler. Put a glasspack with 2" inlet and outlet it has a good deep tone and not really very loud. I'll find out Sunday when we hit the woods .It's definitely more peppy.
  17. Does anyone know if there is a interchangeable steering rack that would work from other brand of sxs Are a rebuild kit to replace the bushing. Mine is a 2015 Dominator 800 2× The steering rack outer bushings are gone .
