  1. Borg I used what factory cables I could but had to get 5 cables from a local battery store in order to run them in parallel. As for the batts, I do not have a BMS, just connected them with the cam communication wires that were included with them. I hope that's good enough and don't encounter any problems later. GNFO yeah I couldn't use the Hisun jhook clamps either so I ended up securing each batt with straps for now, looping under the metal baseboard where the jhooks were.
  2. Fixed it and it runs like never before! I copied too much of the 233 algorithm file to my USB.- only supposed to copy the "charger" folder. Anyway, power, speed, steering... soo much better with the 4 lighter LiTime batts. I attached 2 pics.
  3. NVM I figured it out, copied too much of the zip file to the USB. Amazing upgrade!!! Finally!!! My son and I got stranded too many times on those old Discovery batts. The buggy zips around, accelerates with force, steers better... Do it!
  4. Welp I encountered a problem with my final step (I'll elaborate on the batteries replacement & connections later). The algorithm on my Delta-Q charger continues to display 043 (the Discovery battery algorithm). I follwed this procedure on page 2 https://support.delta-q.com/hc/en-us/article_attachments/360010580151 and uploaded the 233 algorithm using a USB drive. The display on the charger even blinked USB while it was uploading. But when I follow these steps to confirm 233 is the new alorithm https://support.delta-q.com/hc/en-us/articles/360016475772-Changing-Algorithms-on-IC-Series-Chargers it only displays 043, even when I try to scroll through profiles by pressing the wrench button. I formatted the USB FAT32, even tried 3 differeent USBs (1st one didn't work at all. Does anyone have any suggestions??!
  5. I purchased them on Amazon for a total of $1,341. I hope the manufacturer warranty is in place! Will do!
  6. I plan to use the factory cables. From what I've read here they seem to be heavy duty. My LiTime batteries are in the mail. I've removed the compartment covers, cleaning, and am about to disconnect the Discovery batts. May sell them on FB Marketplace.
  7. I have not started my conversion yet, am eyeing the price fluctuations on 4 LiTime batteries on Amazon. But to answer one of your questions, it's usually best to save the black/neg connections for last since the current runs downstream from black/neg. Good question about the charging cables connections...? So you're using a new charger and not converting the Hisun factory one?
  8. @Jamie Wilson How's your E1 doing now since the lithium upgrade?! I'm thinking about taking on this project. Amazon has a 4pack LiTime 48V 120Ah (4-Pack 48V 30Ah) GC2 for $1,359. How do you go about doing an algorithm update for the original charger?
  9. Quick question about replacing the plug. One of the prongs pulled out, so I'm thinking it will be an easy fix to connect the old cord with a new plug but I'm unsure about the specs. 15amp 125v? Is it more complicated than that? I do plan to buy a plug that's water tight. Thanks in advance!
  10. Hey Didg since you installed the lithium batteries have you had any trouble with error codes disabling the buggy? I have a 2019 E1 and now I'm am lucky to make it back to camp at our hunting lease (<2miles) and am looking to upgrade somehow. I know when I had a parking brake issue the error code disabled the buggy...
