Hey yall,

Helping a friend out. he purchased a 2020 massimo buck 400 utv. has about 100 hours on it. after starting the engine, shifter in low, it does fine. when shifted to high gear, most of the time it acts like its not in gear completely, and it pops out and grinds bad. when you can get it in high gear, it acts like something is binding and it wont hardley roll before it jumps out of gear and makes that grinding noise. almost like trying to dr4ive a standard transmission car and start off in 3rd or 4th gear.

I have been on this site for several hours now, and totally understand the overall feeling about massimo utv. I can only imagine trying to find transmission parts when other members cant even find a fuel filter, lol.

A new transmission is (part#47516) $1159.99 plus tax and freight.

anyone have any other ideas or suggestions on what is causing the noise in high gear and not wanting to move?

Thanks ,

Chris

Sounds like there is an adjustment somewhere to be made. Either on the cables or linkage on the transmission maybe? May even be a bolt or something on the tranny you adjust in or out?

Have you gone online to download the manuals? I would download everything they had just for reference if anything. If there is an adjustment it should be in there somewhere. If not then maybe contact a garage that works on sxs's and hopefully they can point you in the right direction.

thanks for your response!

I downloadedwhat i assume is the manual that is posted here i believe, didnt seem like much help. its wierd, its like low and reverse run out fine, its just hard to feel the high gear engage, and when you try and take off in high, just about the time it starts to move, is when it pops out of gear. ill recheck it again, ive got the belt cover off and the rear end lifted to see if it will without a load on it.

Thanks!

The only thing I figured out, "Dynamic System" means engine/transmission and "Final Drive" is axle/wheel hubs. Be aware the oil weight suggestion is in Cent and not Fahrenheit in that manual.

I looked at the manual here also and can't quite figure it out either. It does say at chapter 3.12 (Pages 60/62)  in the "what if" section and refers to the "Vehicle section" for adjustments. Which I couldn't find. lol

Maybe trace the cable or wire down to the transmission and check out that area?

I believe Tractor Supply is one of the dealers and maybe has a better copy or more manuals thru them? I would imagine they have a local shop to do their warranty work and you might see if you can find out who it is and give them a call?

 Good luck on your mission//////

Hey.

Thanksfor responding, and you know i didnt want to sound like an ass by commenting on that manual, but ill agree, its pretty useless, lol.

i took the belt cover off but need to check the idle and i had already questioned the owner about the oil, and that may play part also. im going to change the oil, and take the shift cables off, maybe pull that shifting mnechanism off and have a look.

what sucks is that only SONME parts are available, and say if the main shaft is bad, and you cant get it, its replace the transmission.

Ill keep you posted and thank you again!

Chris

Next problem with charging system to tackle, any help would be appreciated.
      New starter solenoid....check
      New Voltage Regulator...check.
Dynamic test to Stator.....bang...pulling like 2 Volts AC
Problem: Without pulling the part out and stranding the vehicle at the shop forever.... I am trying to find the correct stator or at least one that might not be exact for the Massimo Buck 400S, but fit and connect and do the job if that makes sense.... if anyone has any ideas, please shoot them my way.

I have an 850. It’s been overheating. The electric fan is not kicking on. I see the temperature switch going into the radiator, but there’s no wire plugging in to it or none to be found in the area. i’m thinking I might’ve hooked on a branch and it ripped out the harness on that part. Does anybody have a picture or no where that plugs into on the harness? On the top of the firewall, I did notice some plugs that have nothing plugged into it. I was wondering if it’s a harness that goes from there down to the radiator that was pulled off

2022 Coleman 400 with 13 hours on the engine and the mice got to it. Every wire coming out of the steering column in one cluster has been eaten through. I tried reconnecting matching wire colors to each other and I get the left turn signal and hazards to work, nothing else. If I play around a bit I can get the horn to honk or headlights to come on but only when I connect them to the brown wire. Obviously I don't know what I am doing here. Does anyone have a picture of how these wires are connected when they are under the hood on the drivers side coming from the steering column?
Gray - seems to carry power
      Brown - left turn signal
Green with purple stripe - hazards?
Pink with red stripe - horn?
      Green - head lights?
      Yellow - head lights?
      Yellow with red stripe?
      Blue?
      Dark green?
There is also a bundle hanging under the hood not connected to anything green with yellow strip, brown and blue?
Other than that issue, I am about ready to sell this for parts if you interested let me know.
      Thanks

I recently purchased a 2019 or 2020 (no manual) Massimo 400S Buck Series UTV.  It ran fine for a couple days but the low battery light was flashing while it drove.  It then died in the field one day and I was able to jump the battery and get it rolling enough to get back to the barn.  It started both times I turned the key for a couple days after and when driven died 10 minutes later in the driveway.  Even after jumping it had no juice, but with the key out of the ignition it kept trying to start, a quick look on the Google machine and it suggested starter solenoid or ignition switch was the culprit.  Fair enough, let's just order a replacement solenoid, right?  No way Jose....the pin connector on the UTV is a 2-pin white plastic connector and the part received is a 4 pin.  How do I swap that and make it work?  Can I even?  Where do I find correct parts in the future?

I just purchased a Massimo MSU500 and no manual came with it so I have some questions. looking for part #'s and availability of basics like spark plug air and fuel filter. What is the valve adjustment specifications?
Is there a fuel drain? It's been sitting, low mileage but I want to drain out the old fuel and put fresh.
