  1. Well, I went with the easy lift,,,http://www.easternmarine.com/BUYERS-EZ-Gate-Trailer-Tailgate-Lift-Assist-5201000/

Got it installed, works great!! No more groaning & moaning. Very easy to install. Even "Quig" did it!!

  2. Hope you get well and at least come to the jamboree to give me a hard time(lol) what happened to your motorhome?

Quig's Law? Quig buys 1996 mtrhm, 50,000miles, everything works, they deliver from Tx, everything still works!! Quig drives 45 miles, has blowout inside dual!! Takes out major wiring harness, some plumbing, broke corner off fresh water tank, pulled 12 volt wires loose from info panel, no ac,no wh, destroyed storage compartment where tank was. So, just getting those minor things fixed, will be set. I realize these are only "minor" physical set backs, could have been much worse.!! No one was injured...

    I have to try & make jamboree just to hassle "you" : :D :D :D :D :D :D

  3. We are all just waiting for you to get better. Did you have your surgery?

    Lenny

Need you guys to post, talk, gives me something to do!! lol,,, Yes, had surgery thurs, doing pretty good, can't talk, but everyone agrees thats a good thing? I have tendancy to talk quite a bit? I guess? lol,,,, Now to heal up, finish getting damage to mtrhm fixed, then maybe make jamboree! I'm coming down to see you & Jeff, even if I don't make jamboree. Try to catch you guys at hm, maybe show me some trails. Dr. said I have to be pretty careful until it heals real good. Might just come to visit? If I can talk by then!!!

  4. I think I still have some of my special cool aid left over from when I had kids at home, you give it to the kids and put them to bed or lay them on the floor and they dehydrate and flatten out in about 8 hrs, then you pick them up and fold the up and put them in a drawer until you get back, then you just unfold them and put them in a tub of water or out on the lawn with the sprinkler on and the swell back up and are just fine in about 4 hours. Would you like the recipe?

You'll love American Fork canyon if it ever melts.

SSSSSHH,, Would that work on adult? "wife" sssshhh,, :D:D:D

  5. Sounds good Quig. Hey ; check out these coupla places. Not too far from Boise. In Oregon, private land is about the only place to ride a SXS other than the dunes. I've talked (e-mailed) to these folks and they tell me SXSs are welcome! I know all the pics are of ATVs but I specifically asked about Side by Sides. My wife and I are gonna go take a look in a couple of weeks.

The parks look great!! Boise is 110 mi. from me.. We need to plan something, if it ever quits raining,& gets warmer.. Stay in touch.., Quig

  6. Quiq,

Can UTV/ATV be driven on the street in Id like they can in AZ?

    rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

" I " do? lol, as far as I know you can. Everyone including myself does it here. We aren't supposed to drive on state highways? Atv's utv's,all of them just carry papers with them, plus ohv plate & sticker. I live in town of 3500 people, so that helps toooo... But dmv person told me..

  7. Thanks Steve, That was kind of my thinking also. Just wanted to hear from some others. I have never used synthetic oil, but I'm going to put it in trooper. I have about 25 hrs on engine since overhaul, going to wait for awhile, make sure rings get seated.. Thanks again,,,Quig

  8. Ok, I'm curious, when these troopers are new,"engine" you should break them in to let rings seat, & change oil & filter alot to get leftovers out of motor,,,,,,,I would guess new trooper is just like when I had my engine overhauled? I sent this message to ""drgnrdr""",, but he hasn't read yet..

""" I just had my engine overhauled, was told not to use synthetic until rings are seated. Synthetic is toooo good to seat rings, machinist told me to use rotella 15-40 for quite awhile,. but also change oil & filter, often, just in case of metal left inside. I would guess your engine is not broke in? Quig """"

Someone let me know if this is right or wrong? I was told by very smart member that it was right for me,,, Dumb, old,,Quig :mellow:B)

  9. Wished I did write that but I didn't know that info. Good job Quig

    Lenny

Good job,, sweet!! " Googled it, then copied & pasted it"" You guys know how smar,,dumb,,I am,,,,,,, Shut it,Rick!!!!:blink::mellow::D

Another " dumb" question.. from Quig..

From Kinarfi"s info,,,,,,looking at cross references and noticed that the Napa Gold #1348 filter has a thread of 3/4-16 and my Trooper need a thread of 20-1.5

Ok, I've been using 1348, wrong threads,,, so now if I change to right threads, bigger filter,1347 is it going to thread on ok? or did I mess it up?

  10. Oil filter Beta Ratio = just off the top of my head? or copy & paste!!,,,:D

Filter ratings are an often misunderstood area of contamination control. The most commonly used rating is the Beta ratio, which is defined as the ratio of the number of particles upstream of the test filter versus the number downstream, greater than a given size. Using the Beta ratio, a 3 micron filter with a Beta 75 rating, will have on average 75 particles larger than 3 micron upstream of the filter for every one 3 micron or greater particle.

The efficiency of the filter can be calculated directly from the beta ratio since the % efficiency is simply (beta-1)/beta x 100. A beta 75, 3-micron filter is thus said to be 98.66% efficient at removing 3 micron and larger particles. It is important to note that a change in the beta rating from 75 to 200 at the same micron rating represents an increase of less than 1% in efficiency, but the beta 200 filter is more than 3 times more effective at removing 3 micron and larger particles than the beta 75 filter.

  11. Ok, just read the rest of cross reference,, Wix filters have a 5 in front of rest of number, just take it off,& you have Naps gold #. I need to read whole article before telling anything,,, lol,,: )

  12. Hey Quig - No need to be sorry, your 100% right. I not new to working on engines, but am new too the Trooper stuff. Now that I know that I can get some help from you guys, I am ready to ride.

    Have a great weekend!

    BlueT209

Whoa!! Not "us" guys!! I'm dumber than a post!! Can't remember anything I did know!! But, these other guys are fantastic!! & nice!!

I do get to drive mine, I had to retire early, so not real busy, but weather has not allowed much riding since I got back from ariz..

    But getting better,so away I go,,,,,Quig

  13. Since changing the fuel lines have not seen any rubber in the tank.I also run one of those glass see through filters about every other run just to get a good glimpse of what is being filtered out.

With only that few miles, you've probably only used a couple of tanks!!! lmao : ) Anoymous member?

  14. I'm in need of ramp assist for my utv trailer. I found a few, just ckg to see if anyone here knows anything about which is good,or better.Or has found & used different one. I can't lift much or bend very well, sooo, I need something to help? Wife won't lift it either!!! : )

Was told by very wise member, that he almost missed my post, I put it in general discussion, utv forum,, "sorry":)

  15. You'l love the way I fixed mine, being handicapped, it was a must, It's simple and works great and I built it my self for under $100.00, and no, it's not let the wife do it!!!!

I'll take some pictures of and post them tomorrow. I got a winch like what you pull a boat onto it's trailer and added a bar with a pulley at the top to give the winch the mechanical advantage to lift the gate. Simple, no stooping to get the ramp, worst part is the time it takes, but only compared to that of a healthy 30 year old, but I'm 60+ and have the time, not the flexibility.

PS, almost missed this request because it wasn't on the joyner page.

    Appreciate any ideas,,

PS, sorry, put it here to get attention of maybe other "old" utv people? : )

  16. If you have one of the trailers with the heavy expanded metal ramps, it is a pain. My utility trailer has one and it is everything I can do to left it at this time. Who knows in another couple of years. I have seen people add a metal upright post with a wheel at the top. Then mount a boat wench on the side and routed thu the wheel. The wench does all the work.

    rocmoc n AZ/Mexico

Yep, expanded metal ramp, with extra braces for weight of trooper.. Did you look at examples i attached? Looks like they would work, I hope.. Gorilla lift is good, but you buy 2 at about 190.0 each, plus shipping. these I attached were only 119.95,& shipping..
