  1. Go back and check the drive belt again, it is most likely slipping.

I have pulled a tractor and pick-up out of mud, I have loaded the the bed with as much firewood, as it would hold, I have drug 24" diameter and 10' long logs.  I have driven up  inclines so steep my truck had to be put in 4x4 low.  In a1998 2010, and shredded the belt once in 2008.

I am a bit tough on equipment, and a K-Mule is the toughest vehicle I have ever owned.  And I had a WW II JEEP.

  2.

We own 40 acres with the house, and a 2 acre hunting camp & RV, 40 miles away.

I have 7.5' X 14' single axle dovetail with a expanded metal rear gate/ramp, wood floor, 14" high, 2" square tubing side rails.  Single axle because the heaviest things I haul are a 18 hp tractor and a K-TransMule, dual axles are much heavier, cumbersome, and costly to maintain.  Both the tractor and Mule have 2" balls to tote other stuff after I get to the site.

I have hauled upto 5 - 30" X 12' logs, loaded the old fashion way, with a cant hook and log side ramps.  Unloaded via a chain around a stout tree, then drive off, repeat.  If I cannot perform the task with my light equipment it doesn't get done.

  3. The Kawasaki Mule FXR, all of the single row seating Side by Sides of all makes have a bit more legroom, I am only 6'5" with a big belly, as in 300+ lbs and my TransMule 4010 barely has enough room.  Part of the trade off is the bigger the cabin the smaller the bed.

The Kobta single bench seat is a beast, pricey, and the diesel is a bigger beast and more pricey.  But heck, everything is ridiculously expensive these days.

Good luck, I bought my first Mule in 1998, wrecked it in 2011, and the replacement is better still.  Fuel injection and power steering is great for a 75 year old fat man.  I expect this one to last the rest of my life, but I must have one.  13 years is a good long time to own anything mechanical, but my tractor is 40 years old, my pickup 20.  I am not one to give up a vehicle just because it has some age to it.  I have never known a man to regret buying one.

    Again, Good Luck
