Fuel indicator issue

The fuel indicator doesn't work.  The "gas pump" icon is flashing and there is no reading on how much fuel is in the tank.  There is nothing in the manual to tell me what that means.  Any ideas?

That means the tank is empty.

First make sure there's fuel in the tank.

Next lift up the seat and check the wire connector going to the fuel tank on the passengers side. Make sure its not loose.
