I have 31 miles on my new T-Boss 550. In order to start I put in nentural and the emerage brake on and push down on brake paddle, then trun ket and get nothing, with key still on I shift to reverase and the back to netural and it starts.  Anyone know what is happening.

Thanks for your help

Neutral switch adjustment is required......The NEUTRAL dash LED should also show what is happening.  .IF you shut down the engine in a forward gear THEN shift to neutral to restart, the neutral switch movable contact is not making traveling enough for contact. contact.  What your are doing by shifting into REV is nudging the contact enough to make.  Adjust the linkage slightly to push toward REV position.....watch the NEUTRAL LED.

I just bought a new 2023 T Boss 550. It was delivered today and I have the same issue. I figured out I had to put it in reverse and turn the key and I get the back up beeping sound.  Then I put it in neutral and turn the key again and it starts. Can someone provide more information concerning the linkage adjustment needed?

The shift linkage rod is located under the center cover.  The rod is about 12mm in diameter with jam nuts (LH and RH threads like a turnbuckle) on the ends to lock the adjustment down.  The hand gear shift arm lever rotation (INPUT) moves the rod back and forth.  The shift cam (motor end) is on the receiving end and it's bell crank turns the linear motion into a rotation of the shift cam......gear selection.  The length of the shift cam tab arm (the bend...dog leg offset metal secured by a bolt to the shift cam).... was too long.  The "swing movement----total rotation in degrees" of the shift arm is not enough to push the shift cam end (rotation) to get all 3 gear positions.  Typically you can get REV and NEUTRAL   OR     NEUTRAL and FWD.  Follow the motion of the rod/rotation of the shift cam to see which way to adjust the total shift rod length.  Since you usually cannot get the FULL rotation  (F-N-R) of the shift cam you have 2 of the 3 noted above.  Fine line on the adjustment that "drifts out of adjustment".

The adjustment is made by loosening both nuts while holding the rod tight (flats stamped into the rod----no vice grips req'd).

What is needed is MORE rotation.  The increased angle of rotation (in degrees) can be fixed by making the shift lever bottom longer  OR the cam end shorter.

The length of the shift lever push-pull is not feasible to lengthen.  Making the shift cam end lever SHORTER is the trick. The real fix is to cut a section (1/8" min) out of the shift cam tab/arm and reweld the ends back together.......creating a shorter lever arm length WHICH results in MORE degrees of rotation to fully engage the gears.

A post I made some time ago gives the detailed instructions how to   MARK    both ends and then   CUT   into 2 pieces (taking out some material) and then weld the cut ends back together and NOT flipping parts in the process.  It has to look the same just be shorter when modified.  Quick adjust to NEU....should be now able to get FWD and REV.

I have a Massimo MSA550 ATV bought new last year. Last fall I removed the battery to trickle charge for the winter months. The battery is located under the seat. QUESTION... When preparing to reinstall the battery this spring, I find (2) positive (red) cables and (2) ground (black) cables loose in the battery location. I only recall disconnecting (1) cable from each battery post. Can anyone tell me if both cables (red) and both (black) cables connect to the battery, or just one set? The manuel does not show the answer.

I bought a 2017 Stampede 900 last fall that was new, old stock with less than 5 hours on it thinking that I would be getting a relatively trouble free UTV as compared to buying a used Polaris or CanAm, or Honda, etc. It's been a little quirky, but reliable. What I thought was just a minor issue with this model, the difficulty in shifting between R, N, L, H, etc., was just a characteristic of this model is now a big problem. I had to climb two very steep trails to get to the upper meadow of our hunting property, which seemed to stress the UTV more than usual since I was carrying some lumber to work on a platform for a hunting blind, and when I went to shift into park, I felt something give and it would not shift out of low, but it did move up into high gear.  I couldn't get it to shift at all at that point and the shifter felt mushy for lack of a better word. I was able to get it down to the lodge and when I investigated, I discovered that the straight, metal tube portion of the shift cable had bent to almost 90 degrees (see pics). I'm positive that it had already had some deformation that had happened previously and it had the right amount of resistance to bend to the point where it was unusable.
      I have two questions:
      1. I suspect that there must be some other issues that makes this UTV difficult to shift, and I'm wondering if this is a common problem and if someone could enlighten me on what could cause this to be difficult to shift?
      2. Have any of you had this happen and if so, how difficult is it to replace the shifter cable?
Any other advice is welcome, this is the first UTV that I've ever owned, so I don't know much about working on these or maintaining them. I'm relatively capable when it comes to working on my own vehicles in general, and I'm not afraid to take things apart and get my hands dirty.
Thanks in advance for any insight, I'll be traveling most the day so I won't get a chance to look at replies until this evening.

So I’d been shopping for an enclosure for my ‘21 TBoss pretty much since I bought it. Then they came out with half doors and that’s the only one that I could find. Then the other day I ran across one on Amazon for half the price of anything else I’d seen. The link is below and I’m pretty impressed by how well it fits. There is one Velcro strap on the top of the door that doesn’t line up well with the roll cage, but I’ll work around it.
