INSTALLING REAR BRAKE PADS ON THE TROOPER

Hi All,

I managed to scrounge up enough pads to replace the rear brakes on my Trooper. They went on with no problems, after I figured out how to do it, DUH!

If you haven't done it here is the sequence I used.

1. Jack up rear end and put on jack stands.

2. Remove wheel

3. Remove calipers from backing plate. 2 bolts each caliper

4. Remove the Allen screw that's visible on one side of the caliper. Don't do anything with the side with the rubber cap.

5. Place the caliper on something solid, like the swing arm, and tap the rod that's under the Allen screw IN toward the Allen end. You don't have to drive in all the way in, just far enough to remove the pads from the caliper. You' ll be able to remove the pads before the rod is flush with the caliper edge.

6. Install the new pads - may have to pry the pads apart to clear the disk.

7. Reverse the process

8. Pat yourself on the back

9 Now do the other side

Have fun!

Hi Rick,

I got some pads from Joyner before they closed. I didn't get a full set so I'm looking for another set.

I got a call from Glade and he's ordered some from the factory. You can find his number on my earlier post. He will call me when he gets them.

In the mean time you can get pads from Jarrad at No Limits Powersports. He has them in stock and has found a US distributor. Hi number is 817-695-1151.

Hope this helps,

Gumball

I have a Coleman Outfitter 550 purchased in January 2022 that runs and operates pretty well.  65 hours on it so far.   It is a work vehicle for my 10 hilly acres with two 1 acre woods and 5 acres of "lawn".  The rest is under a lake.
My parking brake does not seem to have any grip.  It worked when new but after a month or so, it is just almost useless.     I press the parking brake pedal hard until it stops. Still, it won't hold even on slight inclines.   I don't see the caliper move as I press the brake pedal down.  There seems to be plenty of pad left on it and the rotor is shiny as if it is rubbing a little when applied, but not enough to stop it from rolling.
      Any thoughts on possible causes?

I have a 2004 KUBOTA RTV 900 DIESEL and I need to replace both front cv axels.I have been online looking at them and there seems to be a lot of different manufactures to choose from. My question is who makes a good aftermarket set of cv axels for this KUBOTA. I have read horror stories of people buying the  cheap Chinese brand only to find out they don't fit or they don't last very long and fail again. I hate to have to spend over $200 a shaft to get OEM from KUBOTA when I'm sure there is a company out there who probably makes it for them or makes comparable to OEM. Thanks for your help.
