Has anybody had trouble with the fuel pumps on T2's? Mine works some of the times and then other times it will not work. I took the outlet fuel line loose and when I trun the key the fans comes on but NO fuel, maybe the next time it will work, then it won't work for a couple times, then go back to working??? I thought it might be a bad connection on the fuel pump itself so I replaced the connectors, no help, back to working/not working. The machine had sit for a few months over the summer.

Will a standard high pressure fuel pump work with troopers?

At this point, i don't know if it is the fuel pump that is bad or power not getting to the fuel pump.

Any help would be appreciated.

Find out if it's the pump or the wiring first, put a test light across the pump terminals, or run a wire from hot to + side of pump, check your relays, it's a good thing to unplug and plug back in each relay and look at the prongs for discoloration or heat. Look at the fuses too. by pulling and replugging the relays and fuses, you get better contact by the seating action.

Yes to the standard high pressure pump, the book says 50 # or so. If you need a manual or other info read parts, pieces and info at the beginning of this forum.

Thanks Kinarfi, I have checked all the fuses by taking them out, even swapped the relays around yesterday evening, nothing seemed to work any better after doing that. But today the thing works perfect every time, I wonder if water got into the key switch when I was washing it off? I looked at the scematic and can't really tell anything about the 1st gear 2nd gear stuff unless it is refering to different postions on the key switch. I believe it was wet somewhere and now that it is all dry it is working great, good point on the 12volts to the + side of the pump, i'll try that if it stops working in the future. Yeah I need to fill out my profile if I'm going to keep this machine, to my knowledge this is the only trooper in West Virginia. It gets a lot lof ooks when I get it out and about. I hope the Hatfield and Mccoy trails will allow 1100cc in the future, they only allow up to 1000cc right now.

Runs fine just putting around the yard. Get it out on the road and about a half miles it runs out of gas. Let it idle for a few minutes and it will run for another half mile and do it again. Replaced both fuel pumps and filter. Does anyone know if I can get rid of the factory fuel pump?

I have a Coleman 550.  Was having problems to start with where it would start and then shut off after a couple tries. It would take off and be good. It then got to a point where it would not start at all. I replaced the fuel injection twice the second time I replaced it I noticed a mouse or something had chewed one of the wires that connect the electrical to the fuel injector. . So two-part question first does anybody have a part number for that wire harness?  Second, any other ideas after I fix the wire harness permanently on what could keep it from starting I have gas flow up to the fuel injector.

I had been driving for about 15 minutes, everything fine. All of a sudden the engine was surging, losing power, would run with 1/2 throttle or greater and was backfiring badly. Luckily I was close to home and got it back. The tipoff to me was that I thought I was hearing intake noise. Sure enough, the rubber boot which connects the air cleaner and intake piping to the throttle body came loose. Obviously the computer was confused. It turned out to be an easy fix, but this is now added to my inspection list. Just thought this might help someone else.

Haven't posted in a while since solving the excessive cabin noise issue, so I thought I would share a few upgrades to my Sector... Realize that this is driven daily on the street, so some of the mods are to make it more streetworthy.

      Locking gas door.

      Rear view mirror.

Modified windshield for better airflow in cabin.

Lowered and modified headrest bar for improved rear view.  Tailgate protector.

      Folding armrests.

Overhead utility rack.  Keeps the interior cooler and dryer, too!

      Folding rear seats.

      Dust cover and seat protector.
If anyone wants links to the rear view mirror, seats, or arrests, let me know and I will post.  But know that everything requires some level of fabrication.  The utility rack was all custom built.  Cheers!
