My father-in-law has a Hisun 750.  It has started to not change gears while running.  He can turn it off, change gears, then restart and it will change.  I thought it might have something to do with the brake but can’t find any info.  Thanks in advance for any info.

How many rpms? Mine does this when idling is high. When it got warm I had to change the oil for the 5w40 winter to the 15w 40 for the summer.

There is a safety switch (I think) that is supposed to prevent you from shifting gears without having you foot on the brake. That switch is also supposed to prevent you from starting the machine in gear without having you foot on the brake. I'll take a quick look and see if I can locate where it is. I think it is by the brake light switch at the base of the brake pedal.

Kinda like the switch that kill the engine of a riding mower if you get off the seat with the blades engaged or in gear and fall off.

Well as usual I'm wrong. There is a pin that prevents it going into reverse unless the brake is applied. But didn't see anything about a separate switch on brake pedal for shifting. Could be the brake light switch has multiple purpose.  I'd check it anyway just to make sure. And check the shift linkage. See pics below.

Good luck.

BUCK,

I have an Axis 500. I have no shift issues. Haven't changed anything with brake pedals.

With engine running, I can go

N to HI or LO with no brake

LO to HI or N with no brake.

LO, HI, or N to R have to have brake.

R to N, HI or LO no brake.

Start in any position with no brake.

Don't shift to any gear rolling.

I'd check the linkage on your father-in-law's machine.

He said he checked the linkage.

Since the linkage seems to be good.

As T Fox asked, what is the RPM when trying to shift into gear while running.

High RPM could be an issue. And at high RPM the clutch would be trying to engage/engaged also. Putting pressure on the shaft attached to the primary sheave. Trying to move the CVT belt. Making the secondary sheave engage. And the secondary sheave is attached to the shaft that turns gears in the transmission.

And the clutch is in an oil bath also.

Hi, I purchased a used Cub Cadet 750 Challenger that seemed like the belt was slipping so I put a new belt in.  It still acts like the belt is slipping but now I am thinking it is the clutch?
What is the best way to remedy this problem?
      Can the clutch be rebuilt?
      Are there aftermarket clutches available?

I have a 2021 Axis(Hisun) 700 from Lowes. Will not start. Checked starter, solenoid, spark plug and fuel pump. Everything seems to be fine. The motor turns over and will try to start but just will not. Battery is also good. Frustrated!

"Mrs. Smith" doesn't like how loud our Sector 750 is.  On a HISUN forum someone said the same thing about his 750.  I haven't given it much thought because I've been more focused on stuff that has broken.
So, I used my decibel meter to check ours out.  4000 RPM, Low gear, under 20 MPH . . . . 97 decibels.  That's above most ordinances, even state boat noise limits.
AI Overview Ninety-seven (97) decibels is considered very loud and dangerous to hearing with prolonged exposure, roughly equivalent to a newspaper press, a loud nightclub, or a snowmobile. At this level, damage can occur after just 30 minutes, necessitating hearing protection

Can anyone please tell me or send a link as to how & where to hook up a code reader to my 2021 Hisun 500 Axis.  I have a 6 pin to a 18 pin  adaptor and the blue cord VAG KKL adaptor .Just not sure where or what to hook up to. Can I use your typical vehicle code reader or do I need to download something on a laptop or PC???
