Hi I'm new to your site. I work for a place that has 5 diesel Kawasaki mules. We have had great luck with them until one of our crew members tipped over a 2012 mule one day. Ever since then it has been blowing unburned diesel smoke out the exhaust and fuming up the shop. It starts up and hits on all 3 cylinders for about 10 seconds then starts missing on the number one cylinder. I have replaced all 3 injectors and have replaced fuel filter and put injector cleaner through it. It has a lot less power than the others and finally will clear up and quit smoking for the most part when fully warmed up.. It also will hit on all 3 cylinders when warmed up.. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue and if there is a good easy cheap way to test this.. My only other thought is it has very low compression now in # 1 cylinder now. Any help will be appreciated.. Thanks

ok well I checked the fuel pressure and it was squirting out well with great pressure.. I was going to do a compression test and did not have an adapter big enough for the hole to thread in. So I ended up pulling the head off and on that same cylinder.. the exhaust valve had all sorts of burnt oil caked to it on the face and on the back side. I pulled the valve and wire brushed it. There were no burnt or bent valves. The pistons also had all that oil caked to them as a result from laying on its side.. I will find out tomorrow if this cures it when I get the new head gasket.

So I got it all back together and still the same thing. I put a new injector in that cylinder as well. When running if i loosen the injector line to that cylinder it goes to running better and not missing on that cylinder anymore.. Im leaning towards it being something wrong with the injector pump again

Hi markymopar,

I am glad to have found this topic, though sorry for your problem... I've got an issue exactly like yours - same model and year vehicle with low mileage/hours that was running perfectly, got completely tipped on the left side, as result combustion chamber(s) in the engine got flooded with engine oil. Cleared them by removing plugs and turning the engine, but now it seems to be running on two cylinders only.

Wonder, if you had your issue resolved, would appreciate any info, thank you.

Hey I seemed to have gotten the issue resolved. It has been good for about 6 months now. I ended up pulling the complete motor out of it and pulled the oil pan off and found that one of the cylinders had a bent connecting
rod.. I pulled the head off and pulled the rod and piston out and bought a new one for a 100 bucks and reused my bearings and put it back together with a new head gasket and it runs great. The reasoning behind it was when
it got tipped over the oil got on top of the pistons. By trying to start it it bent the connecting rod so the piston was no longer able to cone to the top of the cylinder. It was not able to build enough compression to fire the cylinder and was dumping raw diesel out the exhaust. Hope you can get yours figured out. thanks and good luck

Markymopar, thank you so much for the info! I'm glad you got that problem solved.

What I found so far in my case is probably the same issue - I removed the cylinder head and found that third piston comes up 3mm short of the block top - that, for sure, indicates bent rod, so I am going to pull the engine, too.

Wonder if you can find time to help me with couple questions: for one thing, you said you reused bearings - did you evaluate them somehow, or just put them back together? I am asking because when I turn crankshaft, I feel something is snagging there even if slightly, that could be bearings on a bent rod... wonder if you remember something like that in your case.

Also, service manual requires special alignment jig for aligning engine with transmission, when instaling it back - did you use that tool, or somehow worked around it?

Guess, that engine is not too heavy for two people to pull out and put in :).

Thanks for your help,

Vlad.

      Hi All,
I have a 14 mile round trip on level roads to reach the property where I work with my 2025 Amp Crew Ranch (purchased, April 2026).  That 14 mile round trip uses 60% of the battery as shown on the gage for a calculated range of 23.3 miles versus an advertised “up to 50 miles” range.  A mile or two working on the property gets me a flashing gage and warning beeping by the time I get home.  The dealer was good to work with and even with a new battery (yesterday) the results were about the same, although there seemed to be more power and a higher top speed.  I own a Mach-e Mustang so I am familiar with how various conditions affect range, but less than 50% of advertised range just seems like there has to be something out of whack.
Now I’m wondering if there is a controller and/or software issue affecting the range and performance.  At various points the Amp seems to lose power for no reason and then has trouble maintaining speed.  Any ideas?
Also, twice now, the brakes seem to have not released fully.  After noticing reduced speed, I stopped and check the rotors and wheel…..HOT!  So, now every time I feel less power, I stopped to cycle the brakes and check the temperature.  Very annoying.  Are there any adjustments to be had?
And yes, as noted in another post, sometimes the switching from forward to reverse or high to low speed feels sluggish or balky.
Lastly, while an electric vehicle powertrain is quiet, my Amp was horrible from a road noise and vibration standpoint.  This was easily fixed by locating panels vibrating on other panels or the frame (even the cup holders were vibrating) and installing felt adhesive pads at the contact points (seat to frame, windshield to frame, fenders to frame, etc.).  This is a $10 and 1/2 hour fix that makes a significant improvement in the driver/passenger experience.  Tire noise, yes, but that’s because of the knobby tread.
I’m trying hard to like my Amp and would appreciate any tips, advice or solutions.

Hi everyone and I hope that is not a too forward questions for us newbies.
My husband and I are ready (next Spring) to open our newly developed nudist campground in Iowa and we are now looking for interesting activities to host.
Don't worry we are not going to try and sell you a membership because as of 2 weeks ago all of our 50 campsites are sold out for the 2024 season.
It was my job to sell site and now that is complete i am looking for interesting actives host for weekend.
We have 300 acres of woods, grassland, swamps and 2 small ponds/lakes and dozens of miles of riding trails.
we have gotten county approval for the complete 300 acres to be clothing optional.
We think we have a great spot for a weekend or several day ATV / mudder event.
Clothing would be optional for all participants and plenty of room for overnight camping and outdoor group showers.
Now we are looking to you pro  ATV riders to let us know if you think your group of people would fit in with ours.
Feel free to ask anything you would like to get a better idea of what we offer.

I realize this part is discontinued but im trying to find this exhaust pipe fir my dads 550.  His brother who has since passed bought this mule for my dad who is now 90 and he is trying to fix everything on it.  I'm willing to take a used one.  A new one would be great if someone still had in stock.  I'll take anything as long as it is in workable condition.   If anyone has any ideas for me im open to hearing them.  Thank you so much.

I posted this before , but I had the year wrong. The part I need is for a 2014, I don't know what all years will work, but I need the 2 bearing style with the spacer in the middle. It looks like this pic. If anyone has one I'll buy it rite away. my email is [email protected]. Thanks, RC

I heard there's several off road festivals out that way. One or two post apocalyptic, the rest just rev and run. Anyone know a good one that offers camping? Any advice for out of state people like hauling, legality, and where to stay?
Ideally me and the missus would be down for camping out and setting up shop somewhere nearby. That way we can just wake up, load up, and ride.
