Hello All,

We have exhausted all possible troubleshooting steps, now we are in need of some help.

Vehicle cranks but will not turn over. Things we have either replaced or tested and are now known good:

1. Fuel pump (new)

2. Fuel sensor (new)

3. Fuel injector (new)

4. Battery (new)

5. Spark plug (new), spark tested

6. fuses (12v to all)

7. we have 12v at the injector module and 11 ohms resistance

8. we have fuel in the fuel line to the injector

9. we have fuel at the spark plug

10. we have injector pulse, verified with noid tester

11. brake safety switch tested (couldn't find a separate switch assuming it is using the brake light switch)

12. seat belt buckled and seat in place (again, not sure if this model has these features)

13. replaced air filter

14. replaced several air hoses

15. flushed radiator and replaced with diluted antifreeze

16. Drained and cleaned the fuel tank prior to replacing the fuel pump.

Any ideas, we are open to....Help!!

Compression is good

It’ll make a popping sound with starter fluid into the injector port but doesn’t turn over.

There’s no oil in gas or vice versa and no oil in water.

Not really sure how I’d check timing on this vehicle. But with the spark tester I see spark as I’m turning the ignition.

Do you have a service manual?

The spark has to happen at the correct time.

Assuming all of your previous troubleshooting steps are correct......Your timing is certainly an important consideration.

If an engine has fuel, spark, and compression, it should run unless the spark timing is off.

Generally speaking,  when you sprayed starter fluid and the result was popping, the engine was telling you there is a timing issue. Especially if the popping was coming from the intake.

On most of the engines I've repaired on Hisun there are marks on timing gear that should be parallel to the head when piston is at top dead center.

At the same time, you can remove cover and look at crank. See if key is sheared, look at marks on crank to see if they are lined up.

The case should also have a port to view timing marks on flywheel.  Also, there should be a port so you can access the crank to turn it with a wrench. (So ya don't need to remove cover)

Im not sure how your 700 is set up, but, generally speaking these engines are pretty basic and simple.

These are steps if you don't have a timing light

Should be fine, that is the fastest and easiest way to ensure the timing is correct.

It can also be used for other projects in the future. Nice tool to have available.

That said, if ya want to save the money, you can set timing by hand.

Are you sure the compression meets the specifications? What is the PSI? I think the camshaft timing chain jumped a tooth, so the compression will be below spec.

Runs fine just putting around the yard. Get it out on the road and about a half miles it runs out of gas. Let it idle for a few minutes and it will run for another half mile and do it again. Replaced both fuel pumps and filter. Does anyone know if I can get rid of the factory fuel pump?

I bought a 2017 Stampede 900 last fall that was new, old stock with less than 5 hours on it thinking that I would be getting a relatively trouble free UTV as compared to buying a used Polaris or CanAm, or Honda, etc. It's been a little quirky, but reliable. What I thought was just a minor issue with this model, the difficulty in shifting between R, N, L, H, etc., was just a characteristic of this model is now a big problem. I had to climb two very steep trails to get to the upper meadow of our hunting property, which seemed to stress the UTV more than usual since I was carrying some lumber to work on a platform for a hunting blind, and when I went to shift into park, I felt something give and it would not shift out of low, but it did move up into high gear.  I couldn't get it to shift at all at that point and the shifter felt mushy for lack of a better word. I was able to get it down to the lodge and when I investigated, I discovered that the straight, metal tube portion of the shift cable had bent to almost 90 degrees (see pics). I'm positive that it had already had some deformation that had happened previously and it had the right amount of resistance to bend to the point where it was unusable.
      I have two questions:
      1. I suspect that there must be some other issues that makes this UTV difficult to shift, and I'm wondering if this is a common problem and if someone could enlighten me on what could cause this to be difficult to shift?
      2. Have any of you had this happen and if so, how difficult is it to replace the shifter cable?
Any other advice is welcome, this is the first UTV that I've ever owned, so I don't know much about working on these or maintaining them. I'm relatively capable when it comes to working on my own vehicles in general, and I'm not afraid to take things apart and get my hands dirty.
Thanks in advance for any insight, I'll be traveling most the day so I won't get a chance to look at replies until this evening.

I replaced the stator on our Bennche 500 because it was not charging. It ran as long as you kept the battery charged. I replaced the stator now it’s not firing. The only problem I found was a wire in the new stator for the crank position sensor was in the wrong place in the plug. I switched it around but still no fire. Putting a meter on those wires and cranking the motor showed no voltage from the crank position sensor. Something I did or a bad “new “ part? Thanks for any ideas.

I have a Coleman 550.  Was having problems to start with where it would start and then shut off after a couple tries. It would take off and be good. It then got to a point where it would not start at all. I replaced the fuel injection twice the second time I replaced it I noticed a mouse or something had chewed one of the wires that connect the electrical to the fuel injector. . So two-part question first does anybody have a part number for that wire harness?  Second, any other ideas after I fix the wire harness permanently on what could keep it from starting I have gas flow up to the fuel injector.

Hi everyone and I hope that is not a too forward questions for us newbies.
My husband and I are ready (next Spring) to open our newly developed nudist campground in Iowa and we are now looking for interesting activities to host.
Don't worry we are not going to try and sell you a membership because as of 2 weeks ago all of our 50 campsites are sold out for the 2024 season.
It was my job to sell site and now that is complete i am looking for interesting actives host for weekend.
We have 300 acres of woods, grassland, swamps and 2 small ponds/lakes and dozens of miles of riding trails.
we have gotten county approval for the complete 300 acres to be clothing optional.
We think we have a great spot for a weekend or several day ATV / mudder event.
Clothing would be optional for all participants and plenty of room for overnight camping and outdoor group showers.
Now we are looking to you pro  ATV riders to let us know if you think your group of people would fit in with ours.
Feel free to ask anything you would like to get a better idea of what we offer.
