Hisun Axis 500Question

Recently bought this Hisun Axis 500 from Lowe’s and they are legal here for road use in Tennessee. After several miles the dump box gets very very hot I’m guessing from exhaust pipe and muffler. Wondering if anyone else has same issue? I bought South adhering heat shield and stuck it to the bottom side of the dump box and seems to help some but if the box is getting that, I’m wondering what else is getting to hot

i remember a thread on here awhile back where someone else was having that issue.. i can't remember the solution though, i will have to search for it.

i also think alot of heat now comes from engines running leaner  to meet environmental regulations, and lean engines run hotter.

I have the same machine and had the same problem.  For one thing I found that the exhaust was loose.  Tightened  it and it seemed better.  Cooler up here in Michigan now so its hard to tell if it helped that much.

Found a little water in the oil lately.  Water coolant isn't disappearing  so I think it is because of condensation from not letting it get hot enough when I use.  Too many short trips.

My "R" light on the dash will not go out when I take the UTV out of reverse and put it into any other gear. Is this just the light switch issue or will this effect engine performance in the other gears?
