Who says you can return to your youth?
Late 1960s to early 1970s I bounced between Jeeps and Dune Buggies (now called Sandrails). Around 1970 I had a red 1965 Jeep CJ5 with V6, 3spd & Warn Overdrive. I have been looking for months and sucessfully aquired one last week only it is yellow. I was always sorry I sold that Jeep and now found a 1969 to replace it. Everything else is the same but needs a fair amount of TLC.
THEN after also watching Sandrails for sale for months I found the one. Brought it home Sunday with only two of the rear wheels fitting on the trailer because of the width. With 6 straps securely tied down on the rear hoping it would not fall off the trailer and holding my breath for 1 1/2 hours, I made it home. After mods to the trailer, rebuilding ALL the CV joints and doing some badly needed maintence; we are ready for the first roadtrip, Coral Pink Sand Dunes. My old buggies can't compare because of the tech changes over the years. Plus at this age I have already added a silencer, did do much, & a spark arrester, didn't help much with the noise either. BUT the color is the same, my old one was yellow and so is this one.
I think my new color is yellow, LOL. My rigs not me!
I will be posting more detail repairs, mods & pics in the future. I am just excited to have a place on this site and still be with my friends.

A BIG thanks to Admin for adding this new subject. It will allow me and hopefully others in the future to still be part of this community as we change to Toys that are not UTVs. I/We have friends we want to share with and listen to as some of make changes in our toys. Thanks again to Admin, who made this happen the same day I made the request.

Unsold items will be ebay after Jamboree at a later date with a reserve. Of course a big multi purchase will get a discount. Hope to go home without anything.

Forgot,
One used clutch with very little wear. Looked the same as the new clutch when I replaced. Only put the new one in because I had the trans out at the time. I had already purchased the new clutch but was suprised well the old clutch was lasting and would not have replaced if I had known.

Roc,
Is the front 4x4 slide engaging unit you have the replacement for the electrical box?? Does it allow you to use a cable instead--like the 2011/2012's? If it is, I want one! Also interested in the one intake and one exhaust gasket. Not sure if I can afford you, but PM me some prices on those please.
The slide unit is not the same thing as the cable / electronic 4X4 engager. Every front diff has the same slide unit bolted to the nose of the diff and the slide unit bolts to the driveline.
Intake is a set of two. One gasket goes between the alum intake and the stainless steel intake ports. The other gasket goes between the stainless steel intake ports and the head. I have not had a chance to think about prices but will very soon. Still working on the rigs.
My prices will be cheaper than the dealers! Fair but not cheap!

Lenny is in and out of internet access for a couple of days. I am sure he will respond. Mine also squeaked. All I did was put some penetrating oil on them when they started to squeak. Of course Lenny's replacement is the BEST solution but you can get by with the oil.

Saddly I gave up today. I have working on issues & mods on my Toys & Trailer. Nothing is going well and I have ran out of gas, I am pooped! So I have to slow down to complete everything safely & correctly. I have cancelled our reservation BUT will make it by the Campground Late Saturday afternoon. I want to say Hi to everyone and I am bring the remaining spare Trooper parts I have. There were a few items I had triples of and will list them in a seperate post. I will list the parts tomorrow. At any rate I will be selling some Trooper parts Late Sat afternoon at the Campground and then will continue on to see our kids. VERY, very sorry but when the Trooper sold it threw a huge wrench in my plans.

Thanks goindeep and I wish you the best.
Thanks everyone else. WE are going to be around just like we still have a Trooper. The one thing, the best thing, is we developed GREAT friends over the 4 years going to the Jamborees and owning the Trooper. WE are not going to give them up. WE are just sorry the Jeep won't be ready for this year but it will be for the next Jamboree. We have always said anybody & any type of UTV was welcome. Well, now we have to include any type of 4X4 so we are still included, LOL.
See you all soon.

Every is gone on its way to TEXAS! I am Trooperless!
But I am now the proud owner of a 1969 Jeep CJ5 with a V6, 3spd, Warn Overdrive & power steering. Funny thing is it is setting where the Trooper was. Same length & the Jeep is not as wide at the wheel width. Had one just like it once before in the 70's. Needs a little work that I will not have complete by the Jamboree so will be on the Dirtbike.

OK with me. Remember, Lenny & myself are arriving Thursday. Two per site is better than 4 to me!!!!!! I have to have 50 amp!!!
Weather forecast is looking good. Touch warm during the day, cool at night and no wind / just a breeze. LOOKING GOOD!

Nothing special about the plug wires. Just take them down to your parts house and they will be able to match a set.

Come on guys, got to ask Lenny how much he will make an oil pan for you!!
My oil pressure decreases at idle but is still in the ok range. I also run same oil as Lenny.
