  1. I did find a part that worked, a Polaris gas shock. Had to make the thread diameter smaller to fit the mount. Landmaster only sells the complete strut assy. and the left side they are out of. Stut assy. is $380, way too much when you just need the shock. Bought the shock for $100. You can see it in the photo, the only "clean": part.
  2. The seat is not original, this one softens some of the bumps. Original seats have soft foam that sinks to the plywood base when sat on providing NO cushion. I've seen better seats on 12 foot aluminum boats.
  3. I don't know the exact year but about 7 or so years old, Trail Wagon, with 653 Subaru engine (which is good). It's not made to go fast and you don't want to, steering is sloppy. For off road on bad washed out rocky/muddy trails it is slow but gets through it all. A shame there is no guard for the rear transmission with alloy housing. If it was not for the lack of parts and/or expensive assemblies I'd keep it.
  4. Landmaster it's now called told me they no longer have the left front strut assy. They do not sell the gas shock separately Im told because it comes from a foreign country as an assy. The shock was stamped Venezuela. Yours and mine are obsolete. What I don't like since I'm in Canada is the added expense of UPS shipping, no Canadian dealer with parts, in fact any listed dealer in Canada I think are not selling these at all and don't have any parts. The one listed and I contacted had to order from the US and pay UPS. Love my Polaris Ranger, does it ever ride smooth after knowing how the Sportworks rode.
  5. Must be nice to be able to source parts being a Kawasaki owner. The shock I found the top thread to be a bit too large in diameter. I took it down, threaded it to 7/16" and it now fits. Had to shorten the nut for the spring cup too. But it works!
  6. I find that any company that doesn't support its product that's under 10 years old won't sell so many in future. Bad press never good. After waiting 2 months to find a shock I won't let lack of parts or lack of cross referenced parts keep my UTV grounded. I bought Polaris because I know the company supports it. The Sportworks is a good UTV except for ride quality. I'm selling it so I'm not :grounded" month after month waiting to find parts. The company did have front U joints with axle and CV joint as a unit, just over $100 and you'll need those as they snap. Make its drivetrain parts stronger and fix the ride quality and you'd have a great UTV. True Landmaster products sell for less but you get what you pay for.
  7. makes me wonder why Landmaster won't cross reference parts for their older UTV's. Their price (if they had one) included the strut as an assembly, not just the shock for $380. The shock itself lists for $149 Can. I got a deal on it. Now I only need a spring compressor to shorten things up to install it.
  8. A friend knows a great guy working for Suzuki who found the gas shock. It's a Kimpex 301576 Gas shock N7 Polaris-front-ATV. Comes with the spring cup.
  9. I'm told by dealers that China made and other off shore parts are not made past 4-5 years so 6 year old UTV you can't get most parts. Basically soon as a new model supersedes an older one parts become scarce. All the BS of this wagon being American made is BS, only American assembled, probably comes out of a shipping container with Chinese written on it. I don't think I'm being harsh since they don't support their UTV's like they advertise. The only part that they did send me that was correct was the CV and U joint shaft for the front 4wd. These fall apart, actually snap the axle as a ball joint did, snap at the ball and shaft. Maybe 5/8" diameter shaft? Not enough to match the engines power. Not supplying any part numbers from other parts that could work is trying to force you to buy another (and not theirs) but by a company that stands by their product. So I did, I bought a Polaris and soon as I find a shock I'm putting it back together and selling the Trail Wagon.
  10. Already tried Landmaster, no left side available as they do not sell the shock alone. Seems everyone who owns on their shocks have failed and bought them out probably years ago since mine has few miles on it. No dealer wants to sell me a shock that is similar, they want the model # etc. The strut will clamp onto any 1 1/2" diameter tube. Strange no one has cross referenced this shock, not even Landmaster, just let owners struggle to find parts.
  11. Trail Wagon by Sportworks, now called Landmaster. Seems they don't support anything very well over 6 years old, not good.
  12. Looks like one of the 4 rear shocks, unfortunately I need a front shock that fits in the strut.   13. I see I made a mistake in the naming of the beast, it's a "Trail Wagon" by Sportworks, now Landmaster, and rides like one. The shocks have no bottom mount and have a threaded piston that secures a spring cup and retaining nut above.
  14. You probably weren't around in the 70's when Kawasaki made the motorcycle, the 750 two stroke. Fast bike.
  15. Not going over $7000 like I did previously to the Polaris you get UTVs without much dealer support after they are 6-7 years old. Made in China parts they stop making and is no cross reference to similar parts. Stick with a company that supports their products.
  16. Seems the companies leave these UTVs unfinished, I call lack of mud guards, roof etc. missing parts. I'm sure their answer is it lowers the price of the UTV, yea just like selling a truck without a roof or wheel wells. Seems the price of a new UTV equals a small new car, heck just take off some parts from a new car, sell the parts and you have what's left as a cheaper UTV but with stereo, wipers, turn signals, horn etc. Just jack up the suspension and paint it camo! Am I crazy or is this true?
  17. Yes at $800 I'll take five or six accessories to start. They have A/C for larger cc engines, heated steering wheel, you name it they've thought of it and had it made. A fully accessorized UTV would cost double or more than the UTV itself!! When did we stop using an old P/U truck with no doors or box? Or that old Pontiac sedan less its doors to run down the fields? They cost little to nothing and were built tougher and easier/simpler to repair.
  18. Just to add, with some of the remaining Lexan I made windows for the small cutouts directly below the roof and secured them with ShoeGoo. No sense in having a windshield and roof and still have cold air blowing in on your face.   19. Pics taken this winter/spring from living room, turkeys about 85 yards out. Roof is 1/8" aluminum and rear window is Lexan, easy to cut and shape/edge with a 4" grinder with sanding disc.

  22. I'm looking to make mud shields for the Polaris, the UHMW plastic is far too expensive. I was told rink board (stops pucks) could work but comes in white color. I'm sure 50 gal plastic drums can work if you can flatten out the plastic. Could also be used for skid plates under a UTV. Too bad no one sells templates for skid plates, don't want to flip mine over to measure.
  23. Great you got a good deer. Gut shot or not you got him and he didn't die hidden away. I find a deer stand the best, and a bag of cracked corn. I'd like to get some coyote but they are very wary here, only hear them well after dark howling. Only one evening they came out before dark, got two with a .223 Winchester Model 70. My Polaris has a 500cc engine, a single cylinder and liquid cooled. My older Sportworks became difficult to find parts and can't get a front gas shock for the strut. I'll have to match one up, they most all have a 1 1/2" tube diameter but any shop here won't try to match them. Seems a 7 year old is obsolete in the world of Chinese made utv's. I'm told it's Chinese and only assembled in the US. Soon as I find a shock i'm selling it to help pay for the Polaris. It's tough as nails but so is the ride comfort.
  24. Those racks look like they give you quick access to your rifles. I've gone to a .17 HMR from a .22, no need to adjust elevation for longer ranges and it shoots minute of squirrel. I hunt deer, moose, turkey, geese. Virtually no grouse since fishers cleaned them out so a friend and trapper gets those.
