  1. I'm still in the break in period and this thing is vacuuming up all the dust in the world. I had sealed up my old one pretty good but this one, wow. Looking to hear some input on where to duct-tape and seal, and what you guys use for same. I blew it out today with my compressor and I'm sure I should check the air filter already. Only 9 hours on it but I bet it's bad. I'll be adding soundproofing materials as a winter project, like I did on the old one, and that's when I'll have all the plastic under-seat panels out, so I'll be able to seal up everywhere I can. The other question is, do I run the risk of trapping too much heat if I do too good a job? How critical is the air intake behind the driver's seat for the belt cooling duct? Should I extend the duct out somewhere? I have the dust/heat shield on it, the one that stretches behind the seats and comes up behind to deflect dust out back. It doesn't seal the under-seat areas very well, though. Anyway. TIA.
  2. I bought a new Axis 700 at Lowe's last Sunday, 7/24, and I didn't look through all my paperwork until the next day and there is no warranty info in the packet. I checked the Hisun site to see if you can register yourself and provide proof of purchase, etc., but they only have a form for Pre-Delivery & Customer Orientation Checklist which is to be filled out by the dealer and submitted to Hisun within ten days. I just called Lowe's and they're saying they automatically send it all in. How can I verify my warranty is registered with Hisun? I tried their phone number but of course right now it's after hours. I'll call again tomorrow but 10 days is pretty near.... I don't have any warranty claim yet but I just want to be sure it's registered. Does anyone know a better way to check? Thanks.
  3. Well the last two days it hasn't thrown any codes at all. I did notice a 351 and one other one I forget, when I leave the key on like you said. Otherwise it seems ok. I still need to go through it with a fine-tooth comb and check all the connections. And the bolts, for that matter. Thanks, guys!
  4. True. I can totally relate to throwing parts at something. (My old 2009 Hs 700...) I guess if I go through it closely and check all the connections and it still shows codes I'll have to go that route, back to Lowe's. Thanks.
  5. Hi, Ken. The codes show up in the dashboard display for the spedometer, tach and clock, etc. The clock display will flash each code number in turn and then return to the clock readout, and then go back to flash each code again, then clock, and on and on. This is while the engine is running. "Take it in for warranty work" is not an option. There is no service center within reasonable distance. Besides, I have UTV Board!
  6. Thanks. I was hoping you'd see this and reply. I read some of your other posts and you seem to be very knowledgeable on Hisun. During my rebuild on the 2009 700, I squirted silicon grease into the electrical connectors, after cleaning them up with WD40 I think. Would it be good to do the grease on these new fittings, too? I don't even know what that IAT or MIL thing is. TPS, I understand is Throttle Position Sensor but I haven't a clue where all these sensors are. I have zero experience with this new stuff. I spent the last 18 months or so rebuilding a 2009 Hisun 700 and it doesn't have this computer stuff. I suppose I'll just go through and look at all the wiring I can get to and re-seat the connections... Thanks.
  7. 2021 Hisun Axis 700 I just picked one up brand new at Lowe's last Sunday and I'm trying to carefully go through the break in time and I just noticed to day it's throwing fault codes. P0113 IAT Circuit High Voltage or Open KsDGDM_IAT_ShortHigh 113 275 P0122 TPS Circuit Low Voltage or Open KsDGDM_TPS_ShortLow 122 290 P0201 Injector 1 Circuit Malfunction KsDGDM_INJ_CYL_A_Fault 201 513 P0351 Cylinder 1 Ignition Coil Malfunction KsDGDM_EST_A_Fault 351 849 P0650 MIL Circuit Malfunction KsDGDM_MIL_Circuit 650 1616 I noticed the codes while riding so it was already warmed up and working normally. Have no clue what all that means..... Thanks.
  8. Would this work for a 2021 Hisun Axis 700? 9. Glad I found this thread. I'm considering the Axis 700, too. I've been rebuilding this 2009 for over a year and there are so many new parts in it it's practically new. And practically all Yamaha parts. But I might just sell it and spring for a new Axis 700. BUT Lowe's seems to be always out of stock. Does anyone know if there's a long backorder wait time on these?
  10. Oil change--- I didn't. It went to a mechanic and he did all kinds of work on valves, etc., had the valve cover off and did some things... (I know Jack about engines so I leave it to more knowledgeable people). He did say he didn't see anything in the oil when he drained it. I had told him about the ball cage and he didn't find any debris or metal shavings . I don't know for sure if he emptied out the oil or not. I plan to borrow a neighbor's magnet/stick today and fish it down in the oil spout and see if it brings anything up. I will try again to turn it with the plug out and try and do several revolutions. I'll check voltage, too. Thanks.
  11. Yup--- Did that today. It turns easily in one direction and slow-but-sure in the opposite direction: compression. But it does move so it's not seized. I fished a piece of a ball cage out of the oil filler spout several months ago and I've always felt that there must be other metal junk down in the case. I had a guy working on it but he didn't have an indoor place to take the crankcase apart to check. He did get it all timed and valves set right and it ran good once or twice. The last ride was about 18 miles with no problems. Then it sat in the garage for 2 days and wouldn't start: just cranked and cranked. Until it locked up, I guess from the starter melting. But I didn't crank long, just 6 or 8 normal cranks and was about to give up but it locked and smoked. So ... there it sits.
  12. Well the good news is, the starter's not full of oil this time. Bad news is, the connection point is melted inside. I'm thinking something jammed inside the crankcase and the started was trying to turn against the jam and melted.
  13. 2009 Hisun 700. Well, back to square one. I've been doing this rebuild since Jan. 2021. MANY new parts and fixes and re-starts and working/then broke/then working/then broke... and on and on. Last week I had a good ride, about 18 miles. Ran great. Parked in the garage for 2 days and then the exact same problem as last time-- Cranks and cranks, about 6 or 8 times, and then click: nothing. I get one click and a red warning light on the dash but it's too small and doesn't say what it is. It's not the battery: it's fully charged. Had it on a charger overnight afterward and still getting one click. It's like the starter is stuck or the engine is seized. The last time it happened I took it to a guy who's rebuilt many of these and he found the starter was full of oil! Black oil. He said it was black 'cause it got cooked trying to crank. Put in a new starter and he did all kinds of adjustments and between him and the neighbor it was running great. Now it's stuck again. I'll pull the starter when I calm down.... One of the MANY new parts we threw at it was a new battery. it's got plenty of power, 350 cold cranking amps. Is it possible to have TOO heavy a battery? But has ANYONE run into this?
