  1. Jeff, I don't have my Trooper at my house to tell you if you driveline is aligned properly or not. Have you figured it out?

Now that you have had it out how much weightsavings would you guess it would be to do a one piece driveshaft? I am on a mission this winter to shed some pounds.

  2. We were in Delle. Wanted to put a few miles on the machines before they go into hybernation. We haven't done hardly any riding this year.

I am wanting to modify my suspension this winter and upgrade the cage. We'll see what I can get done.

  3. I played in some sandy rolling hill this past weekend and was pleasantly suprised at how well the trooper did. I climbed some pretty steep stuff. It wasn't real tall (about 50 ft) but it was steep and the trooper powered up it. I also thought the weight wasn't real noticeable in the sand. I had the rpm winding high but it did what I asked it. My wife actually had to back down the same hill in her wildcat because it got stuck just at the crest of the hill. That may be blamed on driver skill, tires, or both.

  4. Well, immediately after purchasing a new 4x4 box it has been recommended several times on the forum to take the cover off & seal it with silicone.

Prior to my first 4x4 box going bad it would intermittently shift in & out. I just ignored it & figured it was the box. Then when I replaced the box the new one did the same thing. I noticed when I would turn on my headlights the 4x4 would really start acting up, so I figured I had a short or bad ground. I chased all the wires back to the fuse box at the passengers feet. When I pulled it

  5. Ever since I replaced my box, waterproofed it, & fixed a short that I had in the fuse box it has worked flawlessley. I thought it was a cheap box, but it is actually very similar to the box on my Wildcat. The Wildcats are having a few issues with after submerging them in water. Obviously they also need to water proof them as well. Have you replaced your original box yet?

  6. A strand alone computer is what I was going to suggest next. Its too bad there isn't an aftermarket ECU reflash.

I am curious how that thing jumps. Do you have any video? If I jumped mine high I would bottom out or snap in half.

  7. Did you say if you had a turbo or not? That is the best bang for the buck.

Share your weight saving mods with the class. I am thinking of getting lighter seats & doing the motor mounts out of aluminum. They look way over built.

  8. Memorial weekend in Moab went great. Trooper did well and climbed all the obsticals in my path while the RZR's watched. I even did a climb my wife didn't make in the Wildcat. I could blame it on driver error, but my story is the Trooper kicked its but.

I did have one crazy thing happen with the Trooper. I wanted to have a drag race with the rigs on the trail one day. That particular day all that was with me was a Honda 4wheeler 450 and my wifes Wildcat. Well, the Trooper jumped everyone off the line and beat hands down the 4 wheeler, but as expected the Wildcat quickly jumped 2, then 3 car lengths ahead of me and never looked back. Now in my defense, I am running 30" 45lb tires and had 3 kids in the back seat. I think with the stock 27" tires and no rear seat I would have held my own or even better.

For the weird thing. Right after the race I turned on the last turn and felt and heard a clunking in the rear end. I stopped the trooper and notice the rear wheel was leaning way inboard. I found that the cotter pin sheared, fell out, and the nut began backing off. I don't know if this happened in the race or if it happened in earlier rides. What do you think? I put everything back together and continued riding with no issues. I didn't feel or hear any wheel bearing noises, nor is there alot of play in the bearings.

  9. First of all I am glad you made it out. I too was having wiring issues with my 4x4. When I would turn on my lights my 4x4 would intermitently spazm on & off. I chased all the wires back to the fuse block in the passenger area. I cleaned everything up & everything has been working great since.
