  1. 2680519580104110397omcpWr_th.jpg This is the second time I've seen this and there was some air coming out of the hole in the top of the can when I had the filter off. Is it possible that I have too much blow by? or am I putting too much oil in?

    Thanks, Jeff

Also take a look at some of my mods by looking at the other photos after clicking on the one above. I moved the hand brake splitter and there's a photo my oil drain set up and of the plastic piece holding my nailed bolts in place.

I think that that there is a certain amount of air that always blows out the can and there is an oil mist that rides on that air and the filter catches that mist. It should drain back in, but the shape of my filter lets it drain out or maybe it long inclines, up or down. I think I'll try putting a catch ring around the bottom of the filter and see what happens.

  2. Hey... I was just trying to figure out how I could get some fox shocks for the t2... did you get the fox shocks? Did he give you a part number? lol I just really want to put some on the blue t2. :)

Still running stockers, had to replace one front & one rear. Today I'll get new tires and hopeful get them mounted, Photos will be posted! ;)

  3. Has anyone come up with a lug wrench that will fit inside the holes on the trooper wheels? I am currently using a 3/8 drive socket with a breaker bar but am afraid that one day I will end up snapping the drive off of the breaker bar trying to loosen the lug nuts.

Look to the left of this photo at my lug wrench,

Here's what I have for a lug wrench, I cut the head off a regular lug wrench and ground it down square, tapped the 18 mm 1/2" drive socket onto the lug wrench, with lots of JB Weld to fill in all the spaces. Of course, you could weld it on and you could even buy a deep socket or an impact socket.

Also, If your worried about breaking a breaker bar, how tight are you putting you lug nuts on? I started using torque wrench to put my lug nuts on with and stop when the needle points to about 100 ft. lb. I was out one time and had a flat and NO JACK OR TIRE IRON, but some guy in a Jeep had a star wrench that fit, and the lug nut holding the spare on was so tight that a healthy teen couldn't undo it, they had to hit the wrench with an axe to undo it. That when I started using a torque wrench.

  5. Could in be possible to create a link to go to the last post you read in a forum, this is helpful once the forum gets into multiple pages, otherwise you are scanning (re-reading) trying to figure out where you left off.

I think I know what you mean and I would suggest just using the back button on your browser. Mine has < for back one page and a > for forward one page and an arrow down to list several past pages.

  6. This is a shocking story? Remember that shock of mine that puked all of it's all over my swing arm. I got even with it. 2055262540104282158gncYTW_th.jpg Take a look at all of the photos.

 I started sawing on it just below the seal, there was a nice notch there to keep my blade from going all over. If you wanted to use the help of a machine shop, or had a lathe, these shock could be made rebuildable, if you thought they were worth it. I did think it was pretty interesting though to see the guts of one of these things. If you were to shave off just enough of the top (or bottom since that's how it's mounted) to get the seal out, you could replace the seal, have the body threaded, and make a threaded cap to hold the seal in and just keep rebuilding it for the price of a seal & nitrogen. If you knew what you were doing, you could even make some adjustments to their dampening.

I do think that the nitrogen in them is to keep them from cavitating during compression as the plunger moves away from the seal and has little to do with the lifting of the vehicle like the springs do.

  7. Yesterday, I had this happen twice, the engine died and wouldn't restart unless it was done by dumping clutch, wouldn't start with the starter.

    Any ideas.

The first time, we were going up a slight hill after going slow though some obstacles and the engine had started acting like it had flooded and didn't sound right, the second was after getting home and it died as we were backing off the trailer.

The first time scared me because were way out in the booneys and NO ONE was anywhere around. Time for me to buy a SPOT http://www.findmespot.com/Home.aspx

As far as attracting members, just keep it simple, and perhaps offer some free stuff. I mean everyone likes free stuff.

Thanks for the link, have you designed anything for the Joyner brand, specifically the Trooper T2?

  9. When my locker wouldn't engage, I took it in for repair and I got to see what was inside the locker and how it worked, pretty interesting, but if you look, it'll probably cost you a gasket and oil which you'll probably want to change anyway. If you do, take photos. If you (you and all of us) are interested, I will create a site under the name of Trooper folks and share the pass word so we all can upload photos to OUR site. Heck I'M going to just do it, I'll PM the pass word to each of you who want it. Just let me know if you do.
