08 trooper 1100

Bit of background. First the machine would take for ever to start. So I adjusted the valve shims into spec and made sure the timing is correct. Starts perfectly now.

now it fluctuates on idle. Bogs down, Revs up, repeat. I noticed the fuel pressure drops from 60psi to 20psi while that happens. It also bogs down at the lower end of each gear, higher rpm seems to be fine. Seems to struggle under load. In neutral it revs up perfectly.

brand new fuel pump, fuel filter, gas. I noticed on the fuel pressure regulator there’s that vacuum nipple, it’s not attached to anything and I’m not sure where it would go. Possibly the problem?

Another issue is the tip off the end of the exhaust is broken off, sensor is still attached and connected. Could that cause these issues?

my next plan was to look into the pressure regulator and voltage to fuel pump while driving. Is there anything I’m missing or any ideas you guys have?

thanks!

Difficult to troubleshoot remotely.  Things I might check.  Take a look at the ignition system.  When an engine is under load, the ignition system can breakdown.  The fuel pressure dropping to 20psi makes me wonder why.  It's an elecric pump and unless the voltage drops, it should maintain 50psi per the specs.  That port may be a port to measure fuel rail pressure.  But you could have a vacuum leak in the iintake manifold or the ductwork to the air filter.

Update. Fuel pump is good, no voltage drop. I removed the cat thinking it was plugged. Almost completely solved the bogging issue.

I cleaned out the fuel pressure regulator. No abnormalities. Machine has fire coming out the exhaust when full throttle. Must be running lean. I upped the fuel pressure to 75psi from 60psi and it ran even better, flames out the back were noticeably less. Can’t adjust the regulator any higher.

im thinking new injectors.

anyone agree or have other ideas?

thanks!

How fast is the pressure drop when you shut off the engine.  If it drops too quickly, it may be a bad injector, or pressure regulator.

Don't know your machine  BUT you described the broken off exhaust pipe tip  "with the sensor still attached and connected".  This have 4 wires and looks like an O2 sensor?  If so, your ECM doesn't know the fuel air ratio (amount of O2 in the exhaust) with it reading open air O2 content and mapping to the wrong injection pulse width (amount of fuel).  That said.....reattach the tip and seal  good enough so that no free air (O2) enters downstream before the O2? sensor.  Might want to undo the fuel pressure bump up and check again.  Some of the different O2 sensor vendors for the HiSun variants had problems......e.g.    2 hole vs 3 hole and had erratic runability problems with everything else working AOK.  Even had some new junkers right out of the bag.

It drops very slowly. Maybe 10psi every 30 seconds. I’m hoping it’s not injectors because I can’t find them anywhere. Only place is eBay and it’s $150 USD each.

Yes that’s correct, it’s the sensor after the cat. The one before the cat is still there. I’m planning on putting it back and trying that.

these are my current symptoms and it has me stumped. I’m starting to think it’s electrical. At idle engine rpm’s raise and lower every couple of seconds, when driving 1st gear runs great until the higher rpm’s then it bogs. 2nd can run pretty great until higher rpm’s then it bogs. Sometimes it runs great tho. 3rd gear is almost a no go unless I’m high on the speed and throttle.

I’ll attach the exhaust sensor and let you know. If you guys have any other ideas or want more details about the machine from me please let me know. I’m running out of ideas.

thank you!

??? Wow!  I'd have never thought about that.  Maybe there was a restriction in the section of the fuel line that you removed.  Things are looking up!

Riding out today it acted like it ran out of gas,  stalled and died and would not start.   Towed back to house,  New  plug added this past month,  plenty of oil, getting plenty of gas, battery cranks good.   Trys to kick in and starts but doesnt.   Two days prior while sitting at a idle it died.  Added gas and it started did my ranch chores with it.  But just now it stalled out cranks but will not start.   Tried to find if fault codes came up on the clock like manual says but not sure I am doing that right.  Any and all help apprecated.  Thank you

I just bought a new 2024 Hison 550 Stryker 2 months ago. this is the second time I have had this issue.  It only has about 20 hours on it. The last time it happened we took it back to the dealer. it was a fuse.  Since we live three-hour time driving there and back. I would like to find another solution if possible.  I have tried all the fuses that seem to have anything to do with starting.  Currently checking the battery. The battery is new. it came with the unit. It is probably 6 months old.  the UTV has all power to everything electrical. lights turn signals and radio all work.  When trying the key to start . it is 100% dead. as in it doesn't even click.  There is a low whirring like the fuel pump is turning on though. The Unit was running and driving just fine.  we shut it down for the night. The next morning my wife found it in this condition.  Thanks for any Ideas or solutions???   Otherwise, it goes back to the dealer tomorrow. Just hope I didn't buy a lemon. Great little UTV when it does run.😅  anyone else ever have this Issue..?

Looking for a output shaft for a Joyner trooper t2. Went to move the buggy after sitting all winter and it appears the out put shaft that drives the rear wheels broke off inside the transmission so looking for the shaft or a complete transmission if someone has one

Hey Guys, I have been chasing a stalling condition for about two weeks now. The bike will crank up and idle fine, then after about 20 seconds it will fall on its face and stall. It happens at both idle and while running at various rpms. You can turn the key off, turn it back on and it will fire right back up without trouble. I have verified spark on both cylinders with a spark tester. I have also added an inline fuel filter, and pulled the injectors to verify proper pulse on each. Things I have replaced - (relearn procedure performed after each component replaced): spark plugs, ECU, relay/fuse box, fuel pump, & throttle position sensor - all with no improvement of the condition. The only warning light I get when the condition occurs is the oil lamp. The bike only has 14 miles. I am at a loss and appreciate any help and suggestions! Thanks

2021 Hisun Axis 500 UTV (From Lowes)
      Will NOT START
MY apologies if this is to much info just wanted to give yal the most information possible for help.
I'm a so called diyer. An Electrician by trade 21yrs. I got my S×S from my last job. The contractor purchased this S×S for this specific job brand new, from Lowes. They used it for hauling materials, tools, & a little bit of anything you can think of on an Industrial type job site.
I remember getting on the SxS one time & pushed the gas petal all the way to the floor & SxS had very little power.
So anyway ,when the job finished up back mid July this year (7/2024) , I asked the contractor what they was going to do with it. I was told to take it. Otherwise it would go to the contractors yard (storage yard) & most likely rust away.
Took it home washed it , it had a heavy coat of dust on it & in it dust was every where. My helper & I had to push it on the trailer to get it home.  After washing it throughly I let it sit & dry out for a good day and half, maybe 2 days. Before trying to start it. NO START. Will turn over & try to start but thats it.
So here's what I've purchased & installed. New Air Filter, new spark plug, new air idle control valve (AICV), new throttle position sensor, new throttle body, new oxygen sensor, new digital dash speedometer/fuel gauge/clock.
Also drained the old oil & gas & replaced with new oil & 93oct. gas. I should probably mention that I've changed the AICV twice. The 1st time I changed the AICV I was able to get the SxS started & let idle for at least 10-15min. Drove out of the garage, with very little power,  turned it around & barely got it back in the garage. That was the one & only time I've been able to start the SxS. I've also cleaned the Throttle Body and & intake with TB cleaner.  So after that the AICV was  making weird noise so I pulled it out & tried cleaning it, pretty sure I messed it up. So I purchased a Throttle Body that came with new AICV & TPS. Still NO START.  I've checked the fuel pump & the fuel injector.  I took the injector off still hooked up to wiring & turned the key over, the injector sprayed a lot of gas out kinda the size of a volleyball. I've also checked the clearance gap on the intake & exhaust valve. But today 11/2/2024 I'm going recheck spark plug gap & the valve gaps. And alot of other checking. Would the driver side seat belt have anything to do with it not starting?? I know the driver side seat belt has to be in gauged for full throttle "going fast". Thing is the drv. side seat belt will latch but feels like might be messed up inside of it. Tired opening it up but to no avail.  I've never had a S×S or 4wheeler so I was really excited when I got the S×S,not so much anymore.  I work on & fix my own vehicles usually no problems.  But this SxS is kicking my ass.
So if possible & someone could help me with some ideas or tell me what Im doing wrong or did wrong, I would greatly appreciate it.  Thank you for reading thus far.
