Massimo MSU 500 Extremely Loud

Hi to all . My name is  Rich . I've recently purchased a MSU 500  from Massimo in Texas .  So far I'm impressed with the overall quality of the machine . My only real issue so far is that this thing is extremely loud . You can't even carry on a conversation with a passenger without yelling which is annoying. My first plan is to add some Dynamat to the underside of the engine cover and the seats.  I would appreciate it if anyone has this problem and any solutions . Is there anything in the aftermarket for the exhaust system ?

Other than that I'm pretty happy with it so far.

Rich

check the exhaust pipe right out of the head.. Prone to cracking  and breaking off . ANOTHER factory defect from Massimo Poor Quality .. I implore you to bypass the fan switch and run it 100%  when key is on .. MSUs have massive overheating issues that   blow head gaskets and warp or crack heads.. And Massimo WILL NOT WARRANTY IT

Good to know that there is some already there .

I ran into another problem  though. I went to pull the seats and console to check the insulation and check the oil and cannot CANNOT get the drivers seat to come out. No matter how hard I pull on the lever it will not release ! There has to be something wrong underneath with the release . The only way that I can see to get to it is to remove the panel in front of the seat and hopefully get to the latch from there.  Can't really do anything until I solve that problem.

Anyone have any suggestions ??  I've tried spraying lube underneath but no help.

Yesterday I was determined to get that seat out. After a lot of rocking and shaking , it finally came free . Turns out that the bolt that the seat locks onto was slightly bent.

After careful and precise application (a couple of hard whacks ) of a finely calibrated adjustment tool ( ball peen hammer) the offending part moved into alignment.

Problem sorted....

Put a new carb on the 500 to replace the leaking OE one.  Machine idles fine and mid and top end runs great.  It tends to have a hesitation right from the start - bottom end.   Thinking it may be the air/fuel screw??  I didn't do anything with the carb out of the box and is it direct replacement for my machine.  Of interest is the manual choke doesn't seem to work very good now.... wonder is it getting too much air?

      Any help appreciated!

Okay folks. I have a low power issue. Been like this for a few years. Place I work at bought 3 and all have lost most of the pulling power.  They gave them away after local shop worked on one for 3 months and it had great power for about 1 month and then crap. They replaced throttle body, fuel injector, spark plug and IAC motor. Seat belt switches have wires cut and left open so no seat belt warning light anymore. It revs to 6k rpm in neutral but when put in gear and take off in low it just doesn’t seem to want to go anymore. Running 93 octane fuel with Stabil.  Any ideas greatly appreciated. I dont have a scan tool but no codes on dash. If held to floor it pops a little and runs almost 5K rpm but if I let off pedal about an inch it smoothed out and revs up to 6k rpm.

#1   While troubleshooting an issue with temp warning light I discovered another temp switch mounted in the pipe going to the head  The two switches are literally 6 inches apart.  Does anyone know what this third switch is used for?  If i can figure out how I will post pictures.
Author #2   Finally got the pictures took.  See the photo and tell me if you know what the switch on the right is.
It looks to be factory and I know the girl who bought it new and she didn't install it.
I can't find anything on it in any manual i have looked at.  Any help would be appreciated.

i purchased a brand new massimo tboss 410 and from day 1 it wont operate in reverse.  When i pop in reverse and give it gas it will die out.  when i pop in reverse sometimes in will die right away (before giving any gas) and 1 time out of 100 when i pop in reverse it will operate perfectly fine.   and yes, it operates perfectly dine in normal drive H and L.  any thoughts??   when i called the dealer i got it from they had no idea.
