New 2020 Coleman Outfitter UT400 Owner with questions

Hi All,

Just picked  up a 2020 UT400 that my 80 year old father will be driving around the farm.  We purchased the machine with a few "issues" and they lowered the price accordingly.  Small stuff like passenger size mirror and back reflector was torn off by a Tractor supply employee, which we will order replacements for.  Also after further inspection, whoever assembled it did not put a few bolts in the rollcage and aren't in the glovebox, so will be having to order those also.

Anyway, there are two initial things on the UT400 I'm not sure what they are or for.  The first, there is a square white electrical connector with about 8 pins hanging form under the middle of the back bed - I don't see another one to match up or plug into it, so wondering if this is pre installed optional connection for like towing around a sprayer?  Anyone know what this is?  Also, there is a 10 inch black rubber hose that is zip tied to the back A frame on the passenger side.  I watched the assembly video and it doesn't mention one, so don't know what this hose is for - anyone know?

Also, has anyone come up with a "fix" or work around for having to have the seatbelts plugged in or even in place?  We aren't planning on using them and are figuring just plugging them in and wedging them behind the seats - didn't know if there is a way to just disconnect the "over 10mph gas starving" safety sensor.

Looking forward to seeing how this machine does for my father.   I'm thinking about installing a suicide knob on it for easier turning for him, as it's a little stiff (compared to our Kawasaki Mule).  Maybe with use it will loosen up some?

I think the connector you refer to is the taillight plug--does it look like this?

The harness from the lights plugs into it.

The rubber hose is a "breather" tube for the rear axle gearbox.

I just reread your original posting where you "spoke" of "...a way to disconnect the "over 10mph gas starving" safety sensor. "

The "black box" that performs the limitation is located quite visibly under the hood, on an upper frame crossmember, next to the hydraulic bake fluid reservoir-- it if wired as shown below:

Note that it receives - (ground) active input signals from both the belt and reverse gear switches--that is because the 10 mph limiter function is also active when in reverse gear (this a only obliquely mentioned in the owners manual) . Cutting either wire (pin 4 [green/blue - reverse] or pin 5 [black/white - seat belt]) will disable that function.

I recently bought a used Colman UT 400 cheap because it has a broken drive belt.  I ordered a new one from Amazon and just can't install it.  I seems way too small.  I watched youtube videos and it just wont go on.  Des anyone know the exact length the belt should be?  I have a feeling the one I purchased is too small.

Have you put the bolts in the holes the secondary to spread it? I cant remember theyre 6MM I believe on the 400 and 8mm on the bigger engines? It's a tough squeeze on any CVT especially without spreading the secondary sheave. Those bolts will hold it spread while you wiggle it on.

Not sure the exact length, but there are a number of vendors selling aftermarket parts for these things with no year designation, and there are some differences between models over the years.

In the future you'll have better luck making a new post rather than reviving a multi year old post on different topics.

      Recently I had an overheating issue on my 2022 Coleman Outfitter 550 (Hisun UT550) and to check to make sure it was fixed I took it out for a ride around the block. After a couple cycles on the LED coolant meter, I took it for a couple mile ride and on my way back I heard a loud metallic snap then a grinding noise. It was still able to move under its own power but very slowly. I was about 2 blocks from the truck so 'I limped it home and up onto the trailer. I know I need to tear it apart and look for what broke, but anyone have a guess as to where to start? I'm seriously getting tired of this damn machine! 750 miles on it and already replaced the belt, wet clutch, primary clutch, clutch roller weights among a few other things. Seriously, this friggin machine has spent more time on the lift than on the road. I thought I bought this new because it was from the owner of a tractor supply, but he registered it under the stores name making me the 2nd owner voiding any and all warranties.
      Any Ideas what to look for would be appreciated.

      Spent today at a Honda dealership looking at their 520 side by side, then on the way home past our Lowes noticed they had several new UTVs on site, so we U-turned and ducked in there. We were impressed that all that came for $9,999 metal whole length skid plate, nice sized bed, roof, windshield, side mirrors, winch, upgrade looking tires… all of which would have added thousands of dollars to an already expensive Honda 520. Now Honda does have a great reputation from my trusted UTV experienced buddy, so it has that going for it.

      I have a 2022 hisun sector eps 550. 30amp fuse is blown for eps. Checked the motor and it’s fine. Opened up the controller and found a bad diode. Dealer wanted 500$ for the controller. Just posting this in case it helps someone. I couldn’t read numbers from the old one so just took a guess and replaced it with a 100v 3amp diode.

      Good afternoon,
      I have a 2022 Bobcat 34XL.  Over time, I have to press harder and harder on the brake pedal before the ignition will fire. Now I have to practically stand on it with all my weight to get it to start.  Does anyone know if there is a spring or something that might need replacing, or have had this issue before? I don't have any schematics of the brake sensor/assembly.

      I have a 2022 Massimo t-boss 550. I’m looking for a fix for my timing problem. It keeps getting out of timing. Now I’m trying to find the proper parts for the linhai motor. I’m looking for tensioner chain and gear. If there’s anything else I can do to fix this issue please let me know. Unfortunately I can’t afford to get something better so I got to get it fixed. Thanks in advance.
