Help choosing a 4 seat UTV

I own a place in the mountains of northern Colorado.  I want to buy a 4 seat all terrain vehicle to take the grand kids on trails, some which are relatively steep up or down.  I don’t know the first thing about UTVs and am looking for helpful suggestions to buy the right one.   EXAMPLE:  I found a reasonably priced side by side that was a 4x2 and a friend told me I that I would really need a 4x4.  I won’t be doing anything crazy but, as I said some of the trails are somewhat steep.  Also, I’ll spend what I need to but I’m retired and am trying not to break the bank.   Any and all suggestions are much appreciated.

Have you thought about a rear bed mounted rear bench seat?  Works great for us, keeps overall length of UTV reasonable.

avoid the Chinese built UTVs.. the reliability is horrible. And getting warranty service is non-existent .. better to buy a good used name brand than a brand new cheap Chinese knock off .. I ll take a 10 year old Honda over a brand spanking new Massimo  ANYDAY!
