  1. hey guys

bruha glad to here you got the trooper going I did as well. Found that I had a partially brocken wire at the starter and poor contact on the solinoid side took care of that and she fires right up now, starter are 174 from silverbullet motorsports and when they said they usually dont sell many I triple checked everything thank god lol.

  2. bruhaw

Kinarfi sent me a wire diagram withhow to install the new relay to the solinoid worked great just started acting up gonna check factory relay and check for signal when key is on was fine just started again not sure whats up but however new relay clicks everytime I try to start so eathier im loosing power or loose connection or I gues starter

  3. well thats a lot to read I have already done the relay thing?! and I know my ignition switch is good still got power at the starter and the relay and when I hit the switch I got no stat but my relay clicks. had to pop the clutch to get it started the last time in woods I believe my starter is done but I am going to recheck it all again looks like I will need a starter silverbullets has them but they say they dont sell many hope this helps anyone or if anyone has anything to say let me know

  4. im gonna have it tested thanx for the reply kinarfi, I thought when we spoke last you said you had replaced your starter did youb get a factory one or is there another that will fit??? It happened yestarday couple times just didnt wanna start could here the relay clicking so Im assuming enless its the neutral switch the wiring is good.

  5. Hey guys been a while since Ive been on here hope all is well. Question for you guys is there a cross reference number for a starter for the T2 I already did the whole really thing that Kinarfi was great explaining worked great for a while relay is clicking looks like I still got good ground and power so I am thinking starter is just not doing the job. So is there another starter out there that can be used or do I need to get it from joyner??

  6. thanx for your help if you dont mind me asdking why did you rebuild the motor

SoI tried the relay thing with the starter. Did you use a 2 post relay?? I tried with a 4 post relay oneside two battery one to the orginal solenoid wire ground and then a thicker wire to the starter solnoid it was a 30amp relay and when I cycled the key nothing happend fans and fulel pump didnt even cycle. So i am assuming maybe the 30 amp relay is to big or I need a simple 2 post relay any ideas would be great. I did run a wire off the blue orginal solenoid wire I shortened the wire by a foot traced it back in the harness pretty far does that wire feed directlt off of the ECM????? This fix kinda works if I hold the key for a secound it does start. well any thoughts or ideas would be great thanx charle

  7. I'm sure replacing all the wiring with a heavier wire would help, maybe even eliminate the problem, but the relay was just easier, The relay I used was just a cheap relay I had on hand, I siliconed it to a piece of aluminum and secured it with a tyrap. I also soldered the a wire to each terminal for easy connection and covered all that with more silicone for corrosion protection and electrical insulation. When I rebuilt my engine, I took a bunch of photo before I started undoing every thing and here's a few photos of what I did. 2998912000104110397APXvrO_th.jpg 2618573740104110397CJxjDU_th.jpg , remember, it's glued to the aluminum bar.

  8. Electrical connectors are really poor quality and don't take water & mud well in/on the Joyner. Check connectors & grounds. I am in the Sonoran Desert of AZ with little moisture and have nearly zero electrical issues. I really believe the Joyner doesn't do well with moisture. JMHO!

    rocmoc n AZ

thanx I will look into that is there a cross reference for a starter or does it have to come from joyner

  9. Had that problem, put an interposing relay in. That is take a small relay, (10 to 20 amp), and pull the wire that activates the solenoid and use it to activate the relay. Then use some #14 wire that goes from the battery side of the starter to the relay and then to the solenoid where the starter wire was. The problem seems to be that the wire used to activate the solenoid is too small and too long to supply enough current to get the solenoid to slam in hard enough to make good contact for the starter motor. I haven't had a problems with this since I added the relay and it used to happen all the time, I got to a point that I always stopped on a hill.

ok I understand what your saying but why did it all of a sudden???. Were did you mount the relay and couldnt you just run a thicker wire like its done now is the relay necsary?? so basically put a small relay in between the battery and solenoid and replace the wire with a thicker wire I dont mean to sound like a dummy just wanna be clear. Thanx

  10. Hey guys so I was haveing some starting issues with my T2 over trhe weekend. Turn the Key and nothing with starting. I thought it was the neutral switch so I adjusted that a bit and jiggled the wires it seemed to be ok and then start. However yestarday when I was unloading it off my trailer not start again!! Turn the key full power and when I went to crank it seemed like the starter was just clicking like in a car. I have about 400 miles on my trooper and I always am taking care of it I am an auto tech by trade. Have you guys had any starter issues and Is there a cross reference number for a starter and nutral switch or do I need to get those from Joyner or silverbullets??? thanx

  11. The kit is the best option until we can find a better steering box. The kit works quite well. Check for loosness through the entire steering system (tierod ends, steering shaft, u-joints, wheel bearings etc). Once you get all the play out & add the steering kit it should drive quite nicely at speed.

thanx Ill give it a shot

  12. Hey guys any suspension tricks out there for the trooper, to make it a little more friendly at the higher speeds??? I know we have all talked about the steering issues but is there any tricks to getting that free play out of the wheels does that kit I have seen on ebay take care of it.. Oh ya Rocmoc I did put the 30" tires on my T2 you werent kidding gearing is way better now thanx for the info

  13. Hey everyone. I got some questions any tricks out there for cheap suspension improvements on the trooper I know the factory tires suck and Im working on that. My shocks are set from the dealer setting.

My next question is has any one heard of the Roketa buggies specific the 800cc. My brother is looking to buy one I tried talking him into the troopers but its a little pricy for him. I dont want him to buy a piece of junk anythoughts or comments would help.

Any one using the fuel programmers from silver bullet motorsports I have one in my trooper no mods done except snorkle, and NGK plugs and synthetic oil. I have left my programmer at the factory setting thats what they said to do at silver bullets. So far I am happy but just wondering what any one else is doing. Thanx

  14. Hey guys I have a trooper T2 anybody know if a bench seat will fit in it. my wife and kid are always battling for the passenger seat and a 4 seater is to big for my trails.

I also found that small off road shocks if you cut them down a bit you can use them as steering rack boots, I do recomend removing the rack to put them on its so much easier.

What are you guys doing for performance upgrades I am totally thrilled with my set up, but didnt know what every one else was doing I have NGK plugs in mine silver bullet programmer, snorkle, synthetic oil and royal purple in the tranny.

Sometimes ill be out riding around it it doesnt want to go into 1st or reverce very easy I have tried adjusting the cables a little helped clutch is good no slipping.

Rocmoc I see you commented about my tire question, but how is the performance with the larger tires, I live in MA and I ride on hardpack, mud, hills fireroads.

    Thanx for any insight guys
