  1. ok rocmoc I guess Ill try it thats what I was thinking I ride a lot at lower speeds is and I want my suspension to work and not feel the bump threw out the trooper as u do from factory setup. When I go over rock or roots or a low spot I wasnt my wheels to travel up or down wich ever way they need to go and not feel like im bouncing over the stuff thats not how it should work. I know Im being a little picky I havntt been on the trooper in a mounth and an 1" to 1 1/2 even tow isnt a lot but man it looks like it I do have 30" tires and Id say 12" at the lowest spot is were I am and Id rather it be a little soft than stiff as u said as well. So you think the ride hieght will be ok???????????????????

  2. I should have mentioned I have about 12" + or - in the rear and about 13 1/4" in the front I know my front shocks are to stiff I stood on it last night doesnt droop much. I am concerned that the rear might be to soft and low. THE GUYS AT Fox want me to drive it then call them. I measure at the firewall bottom most forward tube and same spot in rear

  3. Tinman thatnx for the tip on lubing the cable I actually have been squirting PB bkaster down the cable I will try the WD40 as well the tube I think is smaller. Ok the part # for the straps

    22" 18122

    18" 18118

The lenghts are actually little over 22" AND 18" they said the straps will stretch about 1/2" I got them from offroad warehouse

  4. Ok shock update!

Took shocks to local 4x4 shop to have more nitro put in had fronts charged to 350 psi. Installed the back in trooper I think there gonna be a little stiff no biggie I can adjust down. So I had the front charged by the shop as well I was told the shocks were shipped at 300 psi then come to find out it was 280 the rears were at so I had rears charged at 440. Put rear shocks in buggy and the trooper is a low rider half the ride hieght is gone!!!! So no I'm calling offroad warehouse and I'm pretty aggravated not getting anywhere. The guy I spoke to and bought shocks from is out for next two days and the guy I spoke with wants me to buy bigger shocks I said NO!! So I call fox give them all the info I have collected told them everything that is going on and that I have not even driven the trooper yet! They were shocked lol no pun intended so they say I'll tell u what we stand behind our stuff all the way and something doesn't sound right if u wanna pay for shipping both ways we will set them charge them and go threw them with no charge to you except shipping! I said really hell ya, so the guys at fix call me today say there's hardly any oil in the shocks and they were only charged at 350psi. Of course I'm pissed but kinda relieved there putting about 28cc of oil in them setting them to 500 psi and shipping out tomorrow so I will have them on Friday. So in my own opinion fox has great customer service offroad warehouse is ok but I feel like they dropped the ball and my local offroad shop sux!!!! First test drive should be this weekend!!!!!! Fingers crossed

  5. Lenny thanx fro the tip!! Ill double check the cable routing last night I sqirted a lot of PB blaster down the cable at the top by the lever didnt come out the other end though, I did adjust the cable once up by the lever and I cant imagine the rear locker wasnt working I know my trails and know were I do and dont need to lock it for wheel slip. I have adjust it back and forth at the diff and nothing yet enless my wife moved the wrong lever lol cable is routed pretty much were it always has been Ill double check it tonite. Should I maybe unadjust it at the lever and start as if its new or just play with the diff adjustment cause thats all I touched??

  6. ok folks heres an update so far

1 got all the shocks and straps in and then pulled them back out having more nitro put in. I started with a 300 psi charge on all of the. fronts not bad but a little to soft, the rears way to soft lost to much ground clearence talked with the guys at fox and got new pressure amount to be set today going 350 in the front and 480 in rear. Hopefully I will have it together tonite. NO i have not driven it yet this was just in the garage rear was to low for a ride I felt. I will keep you all updated.

2 any of you guys had trouble adjusting your locker cables I kow Lenny did make a post about how to adjust and I kinda get it, my locker was working, and since I have reinstalled the rear diff I cant get it to engage its not the diff I can pull the pin on the diff no problem there. Maybe I have the cable routed wrong and now its to long ?????? =( any input thanx

  7. hey guys if you wanna see the new shocks on the trooper go into my pics under "new color". The front are in gotta trim the fenders glad I went with the limit straps the inserts that I had made for the shock mounts fro the new bolts fit awsome!!! Left rear shock is in now to adjust the rear locker and put the Righ side back together. Its still sitting on the jack stands so far.

  8. Finally I have everything to put the trooper back together well except a coue bolts wich I will get tomorrow. Both diffs are back in and I had shims made to put in the stock shock mounts to take care of the size difference in bolts for new shocks. Those of you that have changed your shocks know what I am talking about cost 7ea for shim made out of steel. As soon as I get out on it I'll let you guys all know how the sir shocks work pretty sure I'm the first with the air shock setup FOX shocks

  9. hey big dan

I have a shock I am willing to part with just got new fox air shocks waiting to install. Send me a pm lets figure out how to pay for shipping and I will send it to you the end of the week or by monday if that works for you lifes a little crazy right now thats why I said end of nxt week or monday. Shocks are fine no leaks little dirty. let me know

  10. I will try to post a pic tomorrow family day with my son today. I actually brought one of the new shocks and old bolt to machine shop and having spacers made outside diameter will be size of shock bolt inside diameter will be half inch for new bolt and about 16th or so thick. The guy was like I will make them 7$ ea but they won't be very strong on there own I said wen its all bolted together and it's in the frame it should be

  11. Ok thanx for input maybe I'll get lucky and the bolts will fit ya right!!! I was gonna take the balls to a machine shop see what they think I wasnt gonna drill them on my own! Welding I though about that but I don't wanna spend. A lot of money in welding I only have use of a kinda shitty welder don't trust it for that! I'll keep u posted thanx

  12. Hey guys looking for some input on this. Hopefully getting new shocks tommorow bolt size is 1/2" on the t2 I know the bolt is close to 5/8" or almost 16mm so what I was thinking is at the end of my new shocks taking the ball out that the bolt pass's threw and drilling it to the size of the t2 bolt so when all assembled there will be little to no play. Whats your opinions

  13. I will keep everyone up to date on how it goes as far as install and ride!! Lenny can't wait to get the t2 back together wiked excited about the new wheel travel!!!! I forgot to mention I got offroad warehouse to extend my testing time from 30-60 days for the first revalve told them I was rebuilding doffs and it would be a bit before it was on the trails again they said no problem! The 8.5 are fox-980-02-017 those are the rears fronts are fox-980-02-015. I forgot to mention I also talked to fox and they told me these shocks with this set up will take 2000lbs of unsprung weight meaning not including wheels tires axles trailing arms a- arms that is how they explained it to me and I guess in California lots of guys are switching to the air shocks in there utv and side by sides! I was also warned that repeated long periods of high speeds over time could over heat the shock but as I said earlier lots of my riding is 20mph and under due to trail size and the people I ride with. Hope this helps

  14. Hey joyner people!!!

Been doing some wrk on the t2 rear diff front diff and I have ordered fox air shocks I know some of you may think dumb move but I'm not out in the open and in the desert like you guys are so that means more slower speeds for me :( I ordered the from offroad warehouse 2.0 8.5" travel in rear full extension little over 24" limit strap 22.5 cause it's gonna stretch fronts went with 2.0 5.5" travel extension is 18.53 limit strap 18" had all shocks set at 300 nitro charge to start. First revalve is free shipping free should see them in a week or so I did get the tool from fox to set pressures properly very accurate!!! I will post more info once I have them installed and tried them!!!!!!
