  1. Hey n race dezert . Come there was a used set of fox and kings I wanna say 10"travel I believe in the 1200 range if that helps! Lot oh guys like the coil overs lots of choices out the off road warehouse seems to know there stuff

  2. Rocmoc Yes I know its fairly new tech and I have been speeking with off road warehouse too lol A few times I havnt decided on it yet just researching on it and my options for suspension. I gotta get the rear diff fixed first lol. The reason I am looking at them is wear I work I have a friend whos brother was in King of the hammers and he used the fox air shocks for 2 yrs no real issues so thats what got the wheels turning, at this point just shopping around but thanx for the advice

How is the jeep any mods or new pics yet??? have a good 4th rocmoc

  3. Hey 2scoops thanx for the reply what size do you think I should get for the front earthier air shock or coil shock I was thinking of a 5.5 travel for front I know all you guys modify your shock mounts but that's not what I wanna do I'd have to pay for the welding and fab work and I just don't want to do that. I also found a set of fox coil overs in my state that were set up for a jeep 10" travel and 8.5 travel what do you think of that???? Been so discouraged with pulling about the rear end that I have been thinking suspension to up lift my mood lol! I got on axle off today but the passenger side no way then I took my son to the beach any thanx for the input let me know what u think of this

  4. Hey guys I know there is tons of talk on here about shocks and I know a lot of you love the coil overs because of were you ride and the speeds you get to travel at. So im planning on upgreading my suspension if and when I ever get the rear diff rebuilt I cant get those axles off the diff at all UGH so this weekend it will be a comalong and a tree to see what happens. Anyway back to the shock I think Im gonna go with the fox air shocks a lot of the ridding I do here in MASS and sometimes NH is slow 1st 2nd gear stuff sometimes I get her going 50. I can get a great deal on them cause I know some one free shipping and free first revalving. So i have been playing with my suspension a little while working with the diff issues and I know I can increase the travel so I figure I can go 23 +or- a bit on the down travel and it looks like I can be at about 18 on the up thats the bottom of the rear trailing arm above the lowest point of the frame I am running 30" tires I could probally go to 17 even on the up so If I am correct I need a rear shock about 24" 5" travel and a limit strap set at 23 if that is correct how are you guys all running 8-8.5" of travel and what size are you straps

I think the air shock would work for me I know you guys have opinions so please share and If any one has some c-4 kicking around send it to me so I can get my diff done lol

    CHARLIE

  5. I think I have read on hear most of you guys run an 8-8.5 travel rear shock ??? What size limit straps do you run and how are you figuring that travel, what are you running in front 6.5 I'm considering the fox air shocks when I upgrade I do a lot of flow riding were I'm at due to trail size and I have a friend that can get me a great deal on them

  6. Lenny I think I will use the c-4 as a last resort lol.

Nocturnalsixer ya I saw a snap on tool guy yestarday he said he can get it but will take a week.

I have some bearing type clamps we use at the subaru shop to press bearings of im gonna try putting them around the axle and prying on that with even pressure if that doesnt work im gonna overnite the tool tomorrow

    FINGER CROSSED AGAIN THANX ALL

  7. ugh thaqnx for the support guys and advice ill give it all a try and if doesnt work its dynimite time lol. Im trying to find that tool from Orielys but there is no O rielys around here!!! I hate to take it off the jack stands to put outside to try and figure a way to get axles out with my luck (badluck) ill probally bake something else

  8. So another night in the garage and the axles are still on the diff yup!!!! Ugh. Soaked them in on blaster had a friend come over used pry bars wiggled them and nothing! I thought about hooking a chain to my truck and pulling it lol but that would probally not work with the t2 on jack stands! To think I thought rebuilding the diff would be hard! So who wants to fly to Mass and help get this done lol

  9. I did the 75-90w of royal purple in the tranny been in it now for about 300 miles or do no issues I plan on changing it around a thousand miles just for the hell of it. I plan on changing the oil every 1000 to 1500 that's what I did with my custom bike that sat and got played with like the trooper I'd rather be safe than sorry as far as my diffs go front I have had Lucas in since first 100 miles rear as well

  10. So finally get all the play outta my front end on the t2, righting things greasing it all and the steering box upgrade. So I take it for a ride I'm amazed in how much better it feels. Just to be on my way home going slow as I approach a puddle just to hear a Loud noise yup rear diff broke!!!!! Hoping its just the ring bolts but if it's more than that any idea were u can get gears or a new unit?? Like I said I was going very slow !!! Then towed it back all in neutral so my fingers are crossed!!!!!

  11. Looking for an opinion about these shocks for the rear of the trooper, I can get a really good deal on them. There fix 2.0 shocks remote resivor nitrogen charge 8.5 travel I know I'll need limit straps there coil springless. Part number is 980-99-031-a. Take a look guys let me know what u think u can change the internal valving on them. I got to make a decision local shop mis ordered them it will cost me 320 for both

    Thanx charlie

  12. Lenny I looked at a lot of your pics of you're trooper that is Awsome!!!!!!!!! The roll cage is incredible the fenders are cool to I bet you stay clean lol. Seeing that defiantly gives me motivation for mine. Thanx for all your advice today on my trooper, I took those spacers out like we talked and put them in front right behind the axle nut and torqued to 100lbs or so and to the next hole. Made quite a bit of difference in the front wheel/tire the right rear it helped to I'd like to see it tighter but I will keep an eye on it! I think the rest of the play is from the splines on the wheel hub and axle splines maybe little from the bearing.

    ANYWAY THANX A LOT

  13. wow Lenny thats a mouth full lol and thanx.. I am pretty sure the play is not in the balljoints but I will and can recheck it. I had my wife wiggle the wheel tire up and down while i watched and you could see the axle wheel anmd tire move as one up and down and if I held the axle at the hub you could feel it. How do you preload your bearing i had the wheel off a large pry bar between lugs to stop the spinning and my wife holding the breaks torqued the axle nut to about 90 ft lbs. Like i said with the wheel off the play doesnt seem as bad but with everything together I just feel like it should be better. and it concerns me. This is all being done with wheels off the ground vehicle not moving. I do work on cars and if this was on a automobile I would be concerned and the vearing would probally be loud. But on a car or most the the axle goes threw the bearing and outer hub all as one wich is much better. Lenny if you can you could callme I could maybe explain it better 508 789 0870 Im in ma its 1235 pm in the afternoon here now

    thanx charlie

  14. ok so what I have is stock 14" wheels 30" zilla tires, when the wheel is off and i grab the rotor to check for play it feels a lot less, then of cource when the wheel tires are back on it appears to be a lot greater!! Just kinda blows my mind how the hub with the stock bearing L/R is tight and the others not so. I dont have any noise from the bearingsd not that I can here when driving or rotating on a jack. So should I just park this thing dig deep and get new hubs I wanna say there like 136 each then new bearings to ugh.

    thanx

  15. ok guys heres one for you. I have some up and down wheel play in my wheels kinda like a bearing. I am pretty sure its NOT the bearing or hubs I have replaced 3 of the bearing with new tappered bearings and I put the new bearings back in with locktite and they did not just slide in the hub. I have one wheel that has no play at all and odly enough its the only stock bearing left in the buggy. I also hads 4 spacers made 2" outside diameter by 1 3/8 inside I put the spacer between the bearing and the hub and torqued to spec it helped some but not like I was hoping it would. Is this just normal I find it hard to believe that I have three worn hubs or spindles were the bearing sits. There only 950 miles on this its an 09 T2 any thoughts would be great
