  1. Plumber. I rather not take the engine apart and end up with half engine sitting around so i want to keep engine complete and if someone want that I'll sell it or anything else. If someone want buy it complete then we can talk about price on that. I do not have a price set in mind for the whole thing yet. Tires isn't included unless at right price.

  2. Hello,

I have an 2009 trooper t2 that has been sitting due to blown rear differential and i don't want to invest anymore money into it. So i have decided I will part it out everything is good except for the rear differential.

Let me know what you need or want and I'll get the pictures for you.

  3. Been a while i chimed in here. I also broke my 2nd rear end that already had been shimmed. I blame my oversized tires and heavy foot. i have been thinking about maybe checking out suzuki samurai independent rear suspension and see if i want to go that route

edit: my gear set is from renegade. The pinion is broken off at the teeth and ring gear is not too bad looking.

  4. Tms utv,

I agree about what you said about outlaw and that they do very good for flotation as well. I have done lot of research on utv/atv tires but somehow I never heard about those tires. I even never heard of them before.

  5. Looks like same pattern as what came on my t2 stock (far east) it was good for all around and being light. I think I'll look for lighter tires next since mine is really heavy at about 40 or so lb each. Outlaw 2 29.5x9.5x14 front 29.5x11x14 in rear

  6. Nocturnalsixer,

Could you please email me directions? [email protected] Any literature would be great!

No one here in Mississippi has ever even heard of a trooper, but they are eager to see it and help with parts. Guy at FASTENAL said he should be able to order everything I am needing (this time haha). I am taking the diff by there tomorrow.

The bolts that I am getting (12.9's) are they the ring gear bolts (12) and I think I've seen Lenny talk about loctiting and putting nuts on the back side? is that correct?

Does anyone know if the pinion gears for the renegade are interchangeable in the trooper housings? Are the front diffs in the troopers the same as the rears?

Sorry for all the questions, I've been reading so much about these my head is spinning.

Don't worry about asking too much.. i could say you are helping keeping the forums alive Lol.

Yes pinion gears and ring gears and cases are exact same for trooper and renegade... but pinon from trooper have 15 tooth.. renegade is 14 tooth so you get deeper gear ratio with renegade pinon over trooper.. less top speed more torque... ring gear and carriers between those two are exact same BUT.....i warn and advise you to look at the side gear splines where it stick out case on sides that mates to the CV axles... that part could be different since i bought front and rear renegade differentials...rear was exact same except for the pinon tooth count.... front was exact same except for pinion tooth count and ALSO the splines that stick out sides of the case are smaller diameter as it neck down at spline area. while trooper one is fatter/thicker diameter.

Yes 12.9 bolts are for ring gear to carrier. Lenny said to use nut on other side on carrier side i did that... it was hard to undo it all if you didn't made sure that it spins nice and freely after shimming it. Also for the literature I'll email those out to you when i get home and scan them.

We know what you mean by almost no one heard of trooper and really drop their jaws to the ground.

Now there's wildcat and maverick the newest next hottest thing now i believe.

  7. its been a while, but I finally got to get back to the trooper and get that cv shaft changed out. I tried the chain method, tried the prying method, tried the axels shaft remover w/ slide hammer, etc. None of the tricks worked..... I ended up cutting the thing off with a grinder and cutting wheel. Yes this took a lot of work and time, and some surgical skills with the grinder but I managed to get it split without damaging the shaft or diff or seals. Really didn't think it was gonna be that hard. Beers easy the frustration, but only after the grinding was done!

My front CV was so hard as well i had to take front suspension apart but before i put it back together i coated all mating parts with "anti-seize" the silver grey stuff on splines before i put CV on in hopes that anti seize would keep the parts clean and free moving

  8. Clankford...

I did mine few months ago and the end play specs i set mine was for... side gears inside carrier i set to 5 thousandths, all other gearing backlash set at 15 thousandths that was the best my diff can do without binding at 5 thousandths on one gear and 0 on other gear.

But it's much improved and bushing I'm not sure where to get that... 12.9 grade bolts is correct. The shims is just very thin metal washers that's 5/10/15/20 thousandths thin.. if you can get someone to make it you need to get them made and the shims either push on bearings or gear to make tolerance tighter. If you need directions i still have that i could make you an copy and send it to you

  9. I can't get any answer from Joyner usa or klung motor so right now I'm just considering and talked with other one member here about doing an engine/trans swap I'm considering an Honda set up because they can be 110-150 hp on stock engine and their transmission can be spooled to lock it together like the t2's is currently. I'm in planning and research stages right now but if i do go that route i will take pictures and record information.

  10. I am having trouble with my wiring as well. I have no lights, horn, 4wd actuator. any idea's ?

Not sure about 4wd actuators but all other and i believe the 4wd actuators fuses and relay are in fusebox under the passenger side dashboard i suggest you check that out and maybe even pull the fusebox off to look at wiring behind it...some people had that area behind fusebox rusted and others had it melted.

  11. Lol i hear you about the ac its a great luxury to have! I thought soft top did just as good for keeping rain out but i never had jeep or any soft top for my trooper yet so i don't really know. I hope you got good seal between the body and the hard top to keep the cold in and water and heat out lol....aren't you worried about the drug war going on in Mexico with i think the short "el chapo"?

  12. I did a larger radiator and fan also for running in the desert. I have a few pics under my gallery. I had to make a few mods to install, but since that point I have eliminated the overheating issues even when it is over 100 outside.

I looked up your photos.. very interesting so you welded bracket on the radiator for bottom stock location and remove the top stock bracket then made new bracket welded to the radiator to bolt the radiator over to where old stock bracket rod bolts on to on the roll cage?

What did you do about the different hose sizes?
