  1. not much to take pics of as yet but i promise as it gets further along you will see plenty of pics! we are trying (key word TRYING...) to use the GM 3800 Supercharged V6 out of a buick Riviera... its a tight fit but it looks like we can make it work.. at this point we are still hunting some small parts though.. we are hoping to start the install in the next few weeks!

    Josh

    No Limitz

Sounds great! Haha more torque ill be watching and probably doing the same since i have few of those engines sitting around here

  2. Dang, you got a strict trail width restriction! +1" total width is a game changer? What about the rears, did you make them narrower or decrease backspacing to fit on the trail? I thought the way they were setup from stock the rear sat wider..... or maybe that was my oversized tires squeezed onto the stock rims.

the wheels that came on mine it's 64" wide. i have some steel car wheels that are heavy that makes it 60" wide. the trails we ride in KY. ARE MARKED 58" LIMET. i can get through at 60" and it rubes both sides in some places an hangs on edge of big cliffs some places so yes it matters. front end spindels are wider then back.

U got t2 through that narrow gates!? Ill like to know how too because gates here are also 58-60" and wouldn't accept anything wider

  3. Just me,

Thanks for the insight on the lite foot that's very informative especially with steering..I wonder if wheel spacer that widen the stance will help increase steering throw without touching t2.

Yeah I heard the tracks are pretty low geared, and

I also heard they require more fuel to operate (worse mpg). Would u agree about the mpg being worse?

  4. Lol I'm the type if I got a jeep for a project I'd wanna start right away lol

  5. Like Charlie said.. There's ton of stuff out for polaris and Yamaha and other mainstream brands.

I have had no experience with any other UTV and I was wanting a rzr4 then one day on way home drive this trooper t2 caught my eye and rest is history.

My advice for u is to go to dealers and try to test drive few or maybe u can get lucky and someone would let u try out their UTV and then u should see if there's Parts that u want for the UTV.

I said that last part because when I got t2 home I started looking for aftermarket parts and couldn't find much at first until this Forum everyone came up with their own ideas.

Whatever u chose, enjoy it and feel free to come back to just say hello or whatever u want.

Good luck on finding a utv

  6. They unscrewed the piece holding the key in the dash, pulled it out to under the dash in to the inner fender well, ripped the ignition key and had bare wires then just connected wires that let them start and drive it.I have it so it is in low gear so they stole it fast but the getaway must have been at a turtles speed. It took longer to drive it away than it did to steal it.

Geez thanks for that info I was thinking that or master shut off switch.... Looks like I got my work cut out for me this spring!

I hope u get both of t2 up and back to normal

Also when u said u have it in low gear, did you mean transmission in first gear?

  7. I will post a photo later and show you my camo Trooper with a heated cab and Mattracks or tracked wheels. I also installed a dead switch so it cant be stolen again. It took them less than 2 minutes to steal it.Off to install all your great ideas and I hope to tell you it is running very soon.

    Thanks everyone E-ya soon

Hey, mattracks!?!? Those are sweet I'd love to have few sets for rigs, but anyways I'm wondering. How did the people stole the t2 in less than two minutes?

I'm asking because I dobby have a luxury of having a garage for maybe a year so my t2 just sit outside.

I wanted to know what did they had to do to steal it away?

I plan on making changes to prevent that since I spent money on it (seem like everyone on this Forum modify their t2)

  8. Im new to the side by side thing. I have been into atvs for a long time. Right now all I have is a 2-stroke yamaha golf cart with a 6 inch lift. Im looking into a side by side cause im feed up with getting stuck and not having the pulling ability. I dont know which one to get. I want a diesel 4x4. It would only have to be a 2 person unit. It would be used around the farm. Is there a lift kit for them? Which one do yall suggest??? Definatly diesel!!! I love diesel power. Im currently installing a 12v cummins into my 1999 f-250 ford super duty with a 5.4 gasser. A few years ago I built a suzuki samuri. It has a d-50 dodge diesel, 4 link suspension in back, roll cage, jeep cherokee axles, fully hydro steering, and 33" tsl boggers.

That's a cool project Cummins in Ford... I'm in planning stages for doing same to my buddy's 79 f350..... about diesel utv well the only diesel ones i know about are for mostly work like bobcat kubota and few others. It would be great if we had diesel option but there's few of us that already have or is going to swap another engine into our utv (team joyner trooper t2) but i recommend you shop around... There's lot of information here

One of shop that sell parts for t2 is in process of swapping in different engine... I was considering doing an v6 swap for the torque

  9. Ya I know lol how was Florida unfortunately if I start a jeep project ill have to sell the trooper to fund it lol

Or u can do what i do lol buy a jeep then let it sit as u slowly gather parts for it.

I'm in that stage for 3 other trucks plus my t2 (t2 just sitting due to cold and needing rear diff)

Jeeps are cool i want a Comanche and xj and maybe a ww2 willy and an full sized wagoneer

  10. Well I have a friend that builds street rods and he made them for me. He also did the top. He is a whiz with metal. His real job is a DOD Civilian at Sheppard AFB he Skins Aircraft.

That explains why it looks like professionally skinned.

Id be interested in more pictures of those especially how latch and hinges was done,

after u get home and have enjoyed riding the t2

Kinarfi: I'm also curious how you did the hinges and latch?

  11. Just wanted to show the new doors and top that I had made. The doors are suicide opening.

where did u got those? They look real good

    Edited

Never mind i didn't catch the part where u said you made them my bad

  12. With your 4x4 pin, the problem is more then likely in the cable going from th front to the rear. The stock cable will rust and eventually starting hanging up. You will need to replace it.

    Lenny

I have same thing happening with my front 4x4 and throttle cable as well. I used wax lubricant for quick fix but new cables are recommended

  13. Well, I'm not rich yet. Had a great time. Rode up to elevations where it was 15 degrees and we were still comfortable and warm. I got a Minelabs.

    Lenny

How about looking for other precious metals along with gold those are in high demand these days i hope u get lucky

  14. Have a champion winch or an aftermarket winch that has the generic control I have? (See pic on link below)

The rivets holding a plastic cap on a backing plate failed, causing a short circuit. It can also fail leaving you stranded when you need the winch the most.

If you have a similar control, I would advise at the very minimum tightening the rivets and properly peening them over, and if you could, put in better rivets.

    http://www.pauldaytonscifi.com/spotlight.html

I'm wondering if that remote control is hard wired into the winch or if it have removable harness like on some of winches i have.... master (master locks of padlock locks) worst one i had, and an harbor freight badlands but they both have removable controls
